Chapter 44 - Details

Fulen stood up in shock upon hearing Kvedo's words; after all, besides Amadi, the only people who knew his Beyonder identity were those from the Demoness Sect. However, Fulen's remaining rationality suppressed his immediate urge to flee. If Kvedo were from the Demoness Sect, he would have already been frozen to death or burned to death by ice or black flames.

Fulen looked at Karl and Erich's slightly surprised faces and Kvedo's finally satisfied expression. He forcibly controlled his heartbeat, then, after calming his breath, said, "What are you talking about, Kvedo? I don't quite understand."

Fulen's own words carried a hint of uncertainty, which he himself could hear, and he believed the other three could hear it too. However, Fulen simply couldn't suppress his surprised emotions.

Although Kvedo had expected Fulen to be surprised, he hadn't anticipated such a significant emotional fluctuation. Yet, he didn't mind, instead laughing heartily and saying, "Hehe, didn't expect it, did you? I know you're a Beyonder."

Fulen finally stabilized his emotions at this point but didn't continue to deny it. After all, Kvedo had never mentioned the Beyonder world to him before, yet now he was insisting that Fulen was a Beyonder. This wasn't something that could be cleared up by mere denial. So, Fulen finally recovered his composure and said, "Yes, but Kvedo, how did you know?"

Kvedo looked at Fulen, who had regained his calm, then glanced at the almost identical calm expressions of the three people in front of him, saying disappointedly, "Sigh, why aren't you still surprised? Why do all three of you have the same expression? Sigh, well, maybe I just like making friends with your type."

Then Kvedo didn't keep them in suspense and directly said, "Hehe, Fulen, you might not know this, but when we were studying together at Mann's mansion, one day the washroom on our floor was locked. You wanted to use the restroom, and I knew it was locked. I was going to rush over to tell you, but, hehe, I saw you touch the lock, and it just fell off. And I'm certain there was a faint glow on your hand at that time. I was incredibly excited then, though of course, I only understood later that you were a Beyonder."

Fulen finally breathed a sigh of relief, then said to Kvedo, "Oh, I didn't expect that. You know this secret, so you must keep it for me, alright?" At the same time, Fulen also looked at Erich and Karl, signaling with his eyes.

Erich and Karl nodded, and Kvedo also said, "Of course, I won't say anything. Of course, I've also entered the Beyonder world and become a Beyonder. I'm a Savant now! See what a desirable profession that is."

Kvedo's face wore a very proud expression, clearly extremely satisfied with his potion. Then, with a hint of curiosity, he asked, "By the way, Fulen, what's the name of your potion?"

"Apprentice," Fulen replied.

"That's quite similar to my potion's name, but it's still not as appealing as mine. 'Savant', what an enviable name that is!" Kvedo continued.

To Fulen's surprise, Erich also interjected, "No, while a Savant's knowledge is comprehensive, it doesn't delve deeply into knowledge. A true wise person might not have studied all categories of knowledge, but they must constantly dig deeper in their most proficient field."

Kvedo pouted and said, "Alright, alright, you're the strongest, my great Reader! But ultimately, a Reader still has blind spots in their knowledge and will make mistakes, whereas a Savant, while not specialized, also won't fall into a mud pit."

Similar to philosophers on Earth, in the early Fifth Epoch, there was also a philosopher who, like Thales, fell into a mud pit while contemplating philosophical questions about the Cosmos. Kvedo's use of this here was to mock Erich, implying that while he was more specialized, he might also fall into a mud pit due to knowledge blind spots during the process of deep learning.

Erich wasn't like Kvedo, insisting on arguing about which Sequence was the strongest. He simply regained his composure and said, "If you're as stubborn as the Feineibote Plateau about which Sequence is stronger, then I have nothing more to say. Every Sequence simply has its own characteristics."

Kvedo felt as if he was showing off his potion Sequence, and even belittling his friends' potion Sequences. He immediately felt that he had gone too far, so he apologized very sincerely: "I'm sorry, I was stubborn, and I even neglected our friendship. Please forgive me, everyone, I truly like my potion too much." Kvedo bowed to both Fulen and Erich, showing the sincerity of his apology.

Fulen didn't think much of it, just quickly said, "It's nothing, it's nothing." Erich, on the other hand, continued, "Kvedo, we are all friends, but we are also individuals with our own self-respect and privacy. I hope we all understand each other, but, it's okay, I accept your apology, we are all good friends."

Upon hearing his two friends' replies, Kvedo no longer remained bent over but straightened up, a sheepish smile on his face from having made a mistake. He scratched his head, unsure what to say, then remembered the main topic and prepared to educate Karl on mysticism.

Then, Kvedo said, "Hmm, Karl, I think I've already told you about mysticism and Beyonders, but I want to repeat it to you again, and also see if Fulen and Erich have any questions."

Then Kvedo cleared his throat and said in a clear voice, "Beneath our seemingly peaceful world, there is a hidden world, it should be said that this world is the true world: the world possessing Beyonder powers. And this world is called the Beyonder world, and those who possess power are Beyonders. And I, Erich, and Fulen are all Beyonders, and we also hope you can become a Beyonder."

Karl watched Kvedo deliberately pause, then asked a question he had been pondering since he returned last time: "Kvedo, is the Beyonder power in this world only the potion you mentioned? Are there no mages who wave wands, or brave warriors who defeat evil dragons with swords, like in 'Gloria's Adventures' and 'Valia's Magical Journey'?"

'Gloria's Adventures' was a story about a warrior defeating an evil dragon, and 'Valia's Magical Journey' was a story about a mage traveling the continent. These two books were stories many Intis children heard in their childhood, so it was normal for Karl to have such questions.
