"Lloyd, get some sleep in! You have your first day in the academy tomorrow!" Llyod's mom shouted at him from downstairs.
"Yes, mom!" Llyod shouted back.
Lloyd tucked himself into his bed as he wiggled his feet happily. 'Tomorrow's my first day in Hartford Academy! I can't wait to go!'
Lloyd fell asleep peacefully in the night. He slept on his back and snored soundly.
Clash!
A sudden boom resounded in everyone in the Lloyd family. Llyod's sleep rhythm was cut off by this sudden noise so he woke up.
'Who's cooking in the middle of the night…' Lloyd murmured as he got out of his bed. When he opened the door, he was welcomed by a bizarre wave of heat.
"What the hell?!" Llyod's kitchen was fully on fire, and the flames grew larger every second! He was very confused and stimulated at the moment, but he heard a cry from the downstairs kitchen.
"Mother! Little sister! What are you guys doing?!" Lloyd rushed downstairs but was stuck. It was either escape or die trying to save his family.
"Lloyd, don't risk it… You have a big life ahead! You are attending the most prestigious academy tomorrow, do not waste your hard work by trying to save us!"
Lloyd was heartbroken. He wanted to save his mother and little sister even if he knew he couldn't get past the large barrier of fire.
"No! I can't live with knowing I abandoned my family! I am not like my father!" Lloyd lashed out and grabbed a large scrap of metal and charged at the flames.
"I will save you guys, no matter wh…" Suddenly, as if someone pushed him, Lloyd lost his balance and fell headfirst into the fire.
"Lloyd, no!" His mother cried out in agony.
'Shit. I know I didn't lose my balance! Someone must have pushed me… he must also be the one who set my house on fire!'
Lloyd had solved the mystery, but there was nothing he could do. His body was instantly incinerated and turned into a pile of ashes.
These flames were not normal, as normal flames cannot instantly melt someone like the Sun!
'How did I die so quickly! My life had just begun. I didn't even die an honorable death… and I didn't get to see the face of my killer!'
"Welcome to the Eternal Void, Lloyd." An anonymous voice echoed throughout Lloyd's brain.
"Who is that? Are you my killer? I said… answer!" Llyod furiously shot open his eyes.
But what he saw only left him in confinement. "Wait… where am I?"
Llyod's surroundings were empty. All that remained was the voice that echoed eternally. "Which stat do you choose to upgrade?" The instant the voice echoed, a sudden array of screens appeared in front of Lloyd.
"Name: [Lloyd]"
"Occupation: [Eternal Regressor]"
"Stats:
STR - 1
EDR - 1
STA - 1
HP - 1
[1] More stat points available."
'What is this?! What's an eternal Regressor?'
A series of thoughts occurred in Lloyd's mind. "I guess I'll choose…"
His words were interrupted by a sudden ding.
"Limited Time Gacha: [Regressor's Lottery] [One Spin Left]"
'I have a free spin?'
Not knowing what to do, Lloyd pressed "spin".
A wheel with many rewards appeared and it spun dramatically. Ring!
"Congratulations, you have spun: [Keen Eyes (20%)]"
"Click on this banner to learn more info."
Lloyd clicked on the banner to solve his confusion.
"Keen Eyes: This ability allows the user to see from all directions, and a split second into the future. Ability can be trained and evolved. [Lvl. 1]"
'So I have an ability called keen eyes? When can I use this… it would be perfect for the situation I died in though…'
"Departure scheduled for five seconds.

Whoosh! The void as Lloyd knew it shredded into bits as another reality appeared.
"Lloyd, get some sleep in! You have your first day in the academy tomorrow!" Llyod's mom shouted at him from downstairs.
Lloyd's eyes widened and his jaw hung loose. 'Did I go back in time? Is this what it means to regress?!'
That surprise lasted for a short amount of time. Lloyd put on a grimacing look and sneaked downstairs and hid amongst the furniture.
'If I really did go back in time, then my killer should appear any moment.'
"There he is!" Lloyd muttered to himself. He suddenly felt himself shaking with anxiety. Then, a thought occurred in his mind:
'Shit! I forgot to bring a weapon! Wait… is he using flame-based magic to set the house on fire? This is my chance, it's kill him now or get killed!'
"What's that sizzling noise?" Llyod's mom muttered to herself. "Lloyd is probably cooking breakfast, I think it's around sunrise now…" Llyod's mom quickly fell back asleep.
Lloyd found a different scrap of metal and headed outside, where the killer was setting up his house on fire. 'I will act like I don't see him, and trust my "Keen Eyes" to watch him.
If he attempts to attack me, that's even better. But if he ignores me and keeps lighting the house on fire, then the problem will be tougher to fix…'
Lloyd took a deep breath and hid the scrap of metal under his robes. He opened the wooden door and walked past the killer while completely ignoring the fact that he was burning the entire house from the outside.
'Keen Eyes: Activate!'
When this thought appeared in Lloyd's mind, his eyes flickered like a camera shutter and then showed four angles, two from each eye.
His right eye showed the front and back of his head, like the left eye showed the left and right. With only one eye, the ability might become a disadvantage.
But, with both eyes open, his vision merged and those two eyes felt like one big circle that showed all angles.
'He notices me. Why is he hesitating? Wait…'
Lucas watched as his killer silently charged for him with a hand covered in fire!
