Chapter 3 - chapter 3: the night Everything changed

After that night, everything fell apart.

When the five unknown men took Kirogami away, no one could do anything.

Slowly, everyone returned to their homes—silent, confused, afraid.

Kami walked home alone.

The moment he entered his room, his legs gave up.

He fell onto his bed and started crying loudly.

Kirogami wasn't just a boxer.

He wasn't just a fighter.

He was Kami's closest friend.

And now… he was gone.

---

Sleep refused to come.

Kami kept staring at the ceiling, lost in his thoughts.

Where did they take him?

Why did this happen?

He turned toward the window.

That's when he saw it.

A star—breaking apart in the sky.

At first, it looked beautiful.

Then Kami's heart froze.

The star was falling.

And it was coming straight toward him.

---

Kami ran outside.

But before he could escape—

BOOM!

The star crashed through the roof, smashing the ground between Kami's legs and forming a deep crater.

The shockwave threw him back.

Everything went dark.

---

When Kami slowly regained consciousness, his head ached badly.

He remembered the falling star.

He stood up to look at the impact site.

Earlier, there had been a huge crater.

Now… there was nothing.

No hole.

No destruction.

Only a strange cube-like object lying on the ground.

Kami reached out and touched it.

It felt warm.

And then—

The cube vanished.

Just disappeared.

Kami looked around, confused.

Suddenly—

CRACK!

Something struck the back of his head.

Darkness swallowed him again.

---

Kami woke up somewhere else.

Cold air brushed against his face.

Tall trees surrounded him.

He was in a forest, far outside the city.

Near him lay a sword.

It looked ancient… heavy… powerful.

Kami reached his hand toward it.

The sword moved.

It flew toward him on its own.

But when Kami tried to lift it—

His arms shook.

It was too heavy.

No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't lift it.

---

Then—

A sound.

Leaves rustling.

Someone—or something—was approaching.

Kami looked up.

And froze.

A creature stood there.

It looked human… but also like an animal.

Wild. Twisted. Unnatural.

Kami's heart raced.

He had never seen anything like this before.

Fear took over.

He tried once more to lift the sword.

Still nothing.

So Kami ran.

---

He didn't get far.

Another monster appeared in front of him.

Kami panicked.

Without thinking, he attacked with his bare hands.

At that exact moment—

The sword flew into his hand.

The monster was cut down instantly.

But the power threw Kami into the air.

He crashed far away, rolling on the ground.

Pain shot through his body.

But something inside him clicked.

I can do something…

---

Kami ran toward a rocky, hill-like area in the forest.

He called the sword again.

It came flying.

This time, instead of holding it, Kami stood on it.

"Can I… fly?"

The sword moved forward—but it wasn't flying.

It started falling.

Kami panicked.

If I fall from this height, I won't survive.

Thinking quickly, he turned his body.

Just before hitting the ground, he jumped sideways.

His speed reduced—but he still hit hard.

Pain exploded through his body.

He groaned.

"What will I tell Mom and Dad now…?"

---

In front of him stood an old warehouse.

Kami ran inside, thinking it would be safer.

As he walked deeper, he felt like someone was behind him.

He turned.

Nothing.

He turned back—

And screamed.

A man was standing right in front of him.

The man screamed too.

Both froze.

---

"Why are you screaming?" Kami asked.

"Because you screamed," the man replied.

Silence.

Then they both laughed awkwardly.

Kami asked, "Who are you? What's your name?"

The man adjusted his coat.

"My name is Dr. Atom."

Kami laughed.

"What kind of name is that?"

Dr. Atom smiled awkwardly.

"You'll understand… someday."

---

Dr. Atom sighed.

"I'm stuck in a paradox," he said.

Kami frowned. "What kind of paradox?"

"A time paradox."

Kami didn't understand a word.

Dr. Atom looked at him seriously.

"You're going to change soon, Kami.

Something will happen to you… something you can't even imagine."

---

Outside the warehouse, a giant monster appeared.

It was massive.

It moved toward the building.

Inside its mind, a voice warned it:

Not now.

But the monster didn't listen.

It entered the warehouse.

Kami looked at it—

And in the next instant, the monster exploded into thousands of pieces.

Kami's eyes widened.

Did I do that?

Or was it Dr. Atom?

He turned around.

Dr. Atom was gone.

Kami's head started spinning.

Darkness returned.

---

Kami woke up in his bed.

Morning light filled the room.

He sat up quickly.

"Was that all a dream…?" he whispered.

He turned to the side—

And screamed.

Someone was sleeping next to him.

The man screamed too.

Kami stared.

It was Dr. Atom.

"Who are you?!" Kami shouted.

"How did you get here?! I saw you in a dream!"

Dr. Atom calmly replied,

"That wasn't a dream."

"You really met me."

---

Kami remembered something.

"You said something to me… didn't you?"

Dr. Atom pointed toward the window.

"Look outside."

Kami looked.

Nothing.

When he turned back—

Dr. Atom was gone.

Just like that.

Kami stood silently near the window, staring at the sky.

Confused.

Afraid.

And slowly realizing—

His life would never be normal again.
