Hanae turned to face them all. "We have one week before everything falls apart. One week to convince The Board we're worth backing. One week to find a way to either pay Yamashita or make him go away. One week to make Tokyo remember why the Kurosawa name meant something."
She spread her arms. "I won't lie to you. This is going to be ugly. Some of you might die. Some of you might wish you had. We're going to war against forces that outnumber and outgun us. We're going to make enemies of people who could destroy us with a phone call."
No one moved.
"If you want to leave, leave now. I'll understand. I'll make sure you have money, transportation, a clean start somewhere else. No judgment. No shame."
Silence.
Then Takeshi laughed. Deep and genuine and full of joy.
"Boss," he said, grinning wide, "where the fuck would we go? This is home. You're home. We're not leaving."
A rumble of agreement from the others.
