Chapter 5 - [5] Lucius's Jaw-Dropping Shock! Off to Diagon Alley

The moment Argus uttered the name, he clearly saw Lucius's pupils contract violently!

Lucius never dreamed that the person buying his house today would be Grindelwald's heir!

Having been a Death Eater, he knew the Dark Lord's power all too well!

What?! Imprisoned in Nurmengard?! What a joke!

That's a living Dark Lord!

If he wanted to, no one in this world could capture him, let alone imprison him!

Even though the acolytes are not as good as they used to be, as long as Gellert Grindelwald is still around, the acolytes can make a comeback at any time!

"It's Mr. Grindelwald, a pleasure to meet you!"

"Me too, Mr. Malfoy. Please show us around the estate."

Lucius became increasingly humble, and Argus, without further ado, got straight to the point.

Along the way, Draco was extremely excited about the arrival of his peers and kept pestering Argus to talk about all sorts of things.

He was just an eleven-year-old child now, and in the past, few of his peers were of equal status or position to him.

Most of them held a fawning attitude.

Having finally found a playmate with whom he could have a normal relationship, he couldn't contain his joy.

"Mr. Grindelwald, how are you feeling?"

After a brief encounter, Lucius's attitude towards Argus took another step forward.

He originally thought that Argus was a child and that most things should be decided by Vinda Rosier.

But the truth was quite the opposite!

Vinda rarely expressed her opinion during this period; everything was handled by Argus!

The other party's composure and insightful views deeply impressed him.

Looking at his son, who only knew Quidditch, Lucius couldn't help but feel disgusted.

Why was there such a big difference between eleven-year-olds?

"Not bad, what do you think, Vinda?"

Argus was quite satisfied with the manor; after all, it was just a place for him to stay, and he couldn't really treat it as a base.

The renovation was decent, there was enough space for him to practice magic, and it was livable enough!

"If you think it's good, then let's make it a deal. I've brought the Galleons with me; we can sign the contract anytime."

Vinda didn't say much and immediately signed a magical contract with Lucius.

"It's getting late, so we won't disturb Mr. Argus' rest any longer."

"Let's go, Draco!"

"Mr. Malfoy, please wait a moment."

Argus noticed the reluctance in Draco's eyes, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his lips.

He stopped the two people who were about to leave.

"I just heard from Draco that you're going to Diagon Alley tomorrow. If you don't mind, Draco can stay overnight, and we can go together tomorrow."

"Daddy!" Draco's eyes lit up as he looked up at Lucius, shaking his arm playfully with a pleading expression.

Lucius initially intended to refuse, but seeing the longing in his son's eyes, he hesitated for a moment and finally nodded.

"Then I'll have to trouble Ms. Vinda and Mr. Grindelwald to take care of you."

"Draco, remember to come back early after you've finished shopping, don't cause any trouble for Ms. Vinda."

"Okay, Dad!"

With Lucius gone, Draco's suppressed nature was finally unleashed.

Especially with Argus as a playmate, he pestered him until late at night.

Vinda smiled as she looked at the exhausted Argus.

"This is the first time I've seen you spend so much time with people your own age."

"What? You think the young master of the Malfoy family is quite to your liking?"

Argus curled his lip: "I don't have that hobby. Keeping him around is to prepare us for infiltrating the circle of pure-blood families in England."

"Although the Malfoy family has a bad reputation, they hold a high position among pure-blood families, so using them as mentors is a good choice."

"However, Lucius is too clever, and it's difficult for us to break through him. Draco is different."

"They're still young and haven't experienced intrigue or backstabbing. They might not even realize they've been betrayed."

...

After a brief chat with Vinda about going to Diagon Alley the next day, and saying goodnight to each other, Argus returned to his room.

It was late at night, and the manor was completely silent, with only the howling wind echoing through the air.

Argus lay in bed and opened the system lottery interface.

"Now is not the time to hoard. Since our talents are already maxed out, increasing our combat power is the right thing to do!"

"System, initiate the lottery."

As soon as he finished speaking, a large number of card packs slowly appeared, surrounding Argus and spinning continuously.

"It looks quite similar to Hearthstone."

Argus randomly selected five.

Accompanied by a dazzling golden light, Argus seemed to hear a notification from a video game he had played in his past life.

Wow, a golden legend!

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Reducto (Level 3)]

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Confringo (Level 2)]

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Incendio (Level 2)]

[Congratulations, host, you have obtained: Petrificus Totalus (Level 1)]

[Congratulations, host, you have received the gold reward: Occlumency (Level 7)]

[Current remaining achievement points: 200]

[Host has been detected to have mastered some spells. Do you wish to fuse them?]

"Merge!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a flood of magical knowledge rushed into Argus's brain.

Without giving him any chance to resist, it forcefully imprinted itself, etching deeply and repeatedly into his mind!

[The host possesses exceptional talent, having attained super-magic comprehension.]

[Confringo (Level 3), Incendio (Level 3), Petrificus Totalus (Level 3)]

"High talent brings such good fortune! It seems that choosing to max out my talent before trying the lottery was definitely the right decision!"

Argus only realized after fusing the spells that the so-called spell rewards and spell fusion were not simply a matter of adding up levels.

It's experience!

For example, Incendio, whose original level was two, was not directly upgraded to level five by fusing with level two. Instead, the experience of Incendio's magic at level two was instilled into his brain, and his level was determined by his comprehension.

Similarly, the same applies to other spells.

"I knew it. If the levels were added together, then leveling up spells would be too easy. You could reach the maximum level in no time."

"Unfortunately, the system's gold rating is not based on the strength of the spell, but on the spell level. Only spells of level seven and above are considered gold."

"Luckily, this one was alright. If they had given me something like a Tarantella dance, I would have been in deep trouble."

Argus was quite satisfied with the Occlumency he had acquired.

Although it lacked direct combat capabilities, facing masters of Legilimency like Dumbledore or Voldemort, not knowing Occlumency was practically the same as running naked.

Even in future magical battles, the process of using Occlumency to resist the opponent's Mind Control and read one's own battle intentions would still be indispensable.

For Argus, who urgently needed to convert his talent into combat power, saving a lot of practice time was a very worthwhile thing.

...

The next morning.

"Argus, I just received news that last night, the German and Austrian Ministries of Magic launched a joint operation to catch us off guard. Fortunately, we reacted quickly and evacuated our people in advance."

"Today's Daily Prophet is full of stories about what you did last night, and it says that you brutally murdered many Aurors."

Argus, who had just woken up, yawned and chuckled when he heard Vinda's words.

"Let them say whatever they want without evidence. The British Ministry of Magic can't possibly put me in Azkaban based on just a few words."

"Besides, I'm just an eleven-year-old kid. Who would believe me if I killed more than a dozen Aurors?"

Argus had anticipated the Ministry of Magic's actions; otherwise, he wouldn't have immediately ordered everyone to relocate to England.

Moreover, Britain was Dumbledore's territory. Given Dumbledore's character, as long as no one found fault with him, he would be acquitted even if someone brought him to trial.

Although many people in his previous life felt that Dumbledore was headstrong and even morally manipulative, Argus believed that it was precisely this kind of Dumbledore who gave him the opportunity.

A gentleman can be deceived by his principles!

If Dumbledore really had no bottom line and was like some noseless power strip, then that would be really difficult to deal with!

Just then, Draco came downstairs rubbing his sleepy eyes, and their conversation came to an abrupt end.

Argus smiled and looked at Draco.

"Let's pack up, we're heading to Diagon Alley!"
