Chapter 122 -   A Mega Stone!

Although Kubfu had only been born for a week, its strength had already crossed the Beginner tier and entered the Early-stage Pokémon level.

At this point, ordinary training methods were beginning to show diminishing returns.

So Oliver went back to the Trainer Forum and contacted the same company he had used before—

the one that had custom-made weighted training gear for Gible in the past.

This company specialized in Pokémon training equipment and ranked among the best in the country in both professionalism and quality.

Unfortunately, the old weighted gear made for Gible had long since become unusable after evolution.

This time, while commissioning equipment for Kubfu, Oliver could also have a new set custom-made for Garchomp.

After arranging an appointment online for technicians to come and measure the physical data of both Pokémon, Oliver suddenly remembered something else.

He still had a complete set of high-quality Evolution Stones sitting at home, unused.

These were part of the championship rewards from the Southwest Inter-High Tournament:

Fire Stone

Water Stone

Thunder Stone

Leaf Stone

Shiny Stone

Dusk Stone

Moon Stone

Sun Stone

For Oliver, these stones were of little practical use.

Selling them online was the obvious choice.

After all, custom high-end training equipment wasn't cheap—this would help him recover some funds.

As it turned out, these items were extremely popular.

Less than five minutes after listing them, three Evolution Stones were sold, all at prices above the official market rate.

The remaining five immediately attracted private offers.

Oliver waited a bit, confirmed that no higher bids were coming in, and then sold them to the highest bidders.

Among all Evolution Stones, the Shiny Stone and Dusk Stone fetched the highest prices, so Oliver waited the longest before selling them.

Just as he was about to finalize the sale of the last Shiny Stone, a message suddenly caught his eye—

and made him stop instantly.

A Man Named Fan Wenxin

Fan Wenxin was an ordinary Pokémon Trainer.

He made a living by exploring Secret Realms, selling resources he found inside, and dreamed of one day training powerful Pokémon to become a League Investigator—so he could give his family a better life.

But after one accident, he never entered a Secret Realm again.

Years ago, his wife had gone into premature labor and was rushed to the hospital.

At that very moment, Fan Wenxin was exploring a Secret Realm, hoping to find valuable resources.

By the time he left the realm and rushed to the hospital, he learned that his wife had died during childbirth.

He hadn't even made it in time to see her one last time.

Crushed by guilt, Fan Wenxin stood before her body in silence.

Life, however, still had to go on.

From that day forward, he poured all his love into his child.

His son lived up to expectations.

From childhood through adolescence, his grades were always near the top of the class. During the summer of his second year of high school, when choosing a starter Pokémon, he miraculously drew Togepi.

An incredible stroke of luck.

Togepi itself was already a rare Pokémon—and this one showed exceptional talent.

After nearly a year of careful training under Fan Wenxin's guidance, Togepi successfully evolved into Togetic.

Then reality hit.

The college entrance exams were approaching.

With his current成绩, getting into a key university wouldn't be difficult—but if he wanted to enter a top-tier university, it still wouldn't be enough.

After careful observation, Fan Wenxin was certain of one thing:

The bond between his son and Togetic was more than strong enough.

If only they had a Shiny Stone to evolve Togetic—

His son would almost certainly be accepted into a top university.

But ever since his wife passed away, Fan Wenxin had raised his son alone.

Tuition, Pokémon adoption fees, living expenses…

No matter how hard he worked, he couldn't save up enough money.

He couldn't even afford the lowest-quality Shiny Stone, let alone a better one.

Finally, Fan Wenxin thought of one place—

A Secret Realm.

A world where opportunity and danger coexisted.

If he could find even a single valuable resource, maybe—just maybe—he could buy a Shiny Stone.

Weighing his son's future against his own safety, Fan Wenxin made his decision.

He would take the risk.

He entered a Secret Realm for the first time in eighteen years.

The realm he chose wasn't particularly dangerous—but eighteen years was a long time away from the field.

After narrowly surviving a life-or-death crisis, Fan Wenxin emerged with a strange stone.

He had never seen anything like it and had no idea what it was worth.

But having brushed so close to death, he didn't dare return to the realm again.

Part of it was fear of dying.

More importantly, he was terrified of leaving his son alone in the world.

So he brought the strange stone to the market outside the Secret Realm, hoping to sell it.

Every buyer he approached dismissed it outright.

The highest offer he received was 1,000 League Credits, supposedly "for collection purposes."

Fan Wenxin refused.

Unwilling to give up, he took the stone home and searched for information online.

Nothing.

There was no record of it anywhere, as if it were just a worthless rock.

In the end, he posted it on the Trainer Forum for 50,000 League Credits, hoping a collector might buy it.

That way, combined with his savings, he could finally afford a low-quality Shiny Stone.

Time passed.

No one showed interest.

Just as Fan Wenxin was about to close the page, he suddenly saw a listing—

A top-quality Shiny Stone.

With nothing left to lose, he sent a private message to the seller.

"I offer 100,000 League Credits, plus this stone, in exchange for your Shiny Stone. (Image attached)"

The moment he sent it, he mocked himself bitterly.

What am I thinking? A top-quality Shiny Stone sells for at least 900,000 League Credits. Why would anyone trade it for my worthless rock?

Then—

The seller replied.

"Where did you get this stone?"

Fan Wenxin froze.

The other party was actually interested!

He hurriedly typed back:

"I found it in a Secret Realm, in the outskirts of Luo City."

The reply came quickly.

"Deal. But you must take me to the exact location in the realm where you found it.

The Shiny Stone is yours."

Fan Wenxin went completely blank.

It actually… worked?

He immediately replied:

"No problem! Contact me whenever you need. I'll personally guide you there!"

At that moment, he didn't care whether the Secret Realm was dangerous or not.

This was a top-quality Shiny Stone.

If Togetic evolved successfully, it might even experience a level leap upon evolution!

Meanwhile, Oliver put down his phone and rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"So someone actually found a Mega Stone in a Secret Realm…"

"That means Mega Stones may have appeared before as well."

"Looks like I should start searching for them early."
