Chapter 160 -  Mega Stones

Shi Heng's gaze locked onto Kubfu.

In an instant, his entire presence changed.

The air around him grew heavy.

Sharp.

Aggressive.

It was the aura of someone who had lived his entire life alongside Fighting-type Pokémon—battle intent ingrained into his very bones.

Kubfu blinked curiously.

Then—

He waved.

As if greeting him.

Shi Heng froze for half a second.

He knew very well how oppressive his aura was. Even many Senior-level Pokémon would instinctively shrink back under his glare.

But this one?

Completely unaffected.

Not defiant.

Not intimidated.

Just… steady.

In Shi Heng's eyes, a Fighting-type Pokémon's future wasn't determined solely by talent. Spirit mattered more.

If a Pokémon's will collapsed under pressure, it would never become truly strong.

And this Kubfu—

Didn't intimidate.

Didn't threaten.

Even looked a little innocent.

But buried deep inside—

Was blazing battle intent.

"An excellent seedling!" Shi Heng praised openly. "Rare. Extremely rare."

If Kubfu weren't Oliver's Pokémon, he might've been tempted to snatch him for himself.

Suddenly remembering his purpose, Shi Heng turned to Oliver.

"The stones you asked for are in that box. I'll take Kubfu to the backyard and test his fundamentals."

Oliver's eyes brightened.

While Kubfu possessed inherited martial techniques, no one could rival Shi Heng's decades of immersion in Fighting-type combat theory.

As a Fighting-type Heavenly King—

He was the authority.

"Go," Oliver nodded.

Kubfu followed Shi Heng outside, step by disciplined step.

The Stones

Oliver picked up the ornate box and opened it.

Inside—

Ten Mega Stones.

Even he hadn't expected the League to gather so many.

Not every Secret Realm ruin was as abundant as the Frenzied Sand Realm had been.

And until recently, the League hadn't actively collected Mega Stones.

Oliver activated his System scan.

Instantly, the data surfaced in his mind:

Tyranitarite ×1

Pinsirite ×2

Gengarite ×1

Metagrossite ×1

Swampertite ×1

Alakazite ×2

Gardevoirite ×1

Charizardite ×1

Combined with his previous collection—

Excluding the stones reserved for his own Pokémon—

He now possessed fifteen Mega Stones.

And all were high-quality variants, corresponding to powerful species.

Unfortunately—

There was still no Garchompite.

No Mega Stone for Garchomp.

He noticed something else.

There was an additional Gardevoirite.

Oliver paused briefly.

Then smiled.

That worked perfectly.

When Gardevoir Mega Evolved in public in the future—

He now had a legitimate explanation for the origin of her Mega Stone.

Sometimes—

The difference between genius and recklessness

Was preparation.

Backyard — A Heavenly King's Assessment

In the distance, the ground shook faintly.

Kubfu's training had begun.

Each punch carried explosive force.

Each stance adjustment was precise.

Shi Heng circled him, offering corrections mid-motion.

"Lower your center of gravity."

"Do not lock your shoulders."

"Power doesn't start in the arms—it begins in the waist."

Kubfu absorbed every word.

Unlike many Pokémon, he didn't blindly imitate.

He analyzed.

Adapted.

Refined.

Shi Heng's expression gradually turned serious.

He wasn't just impressed anymore.

He was evaluating.

This Kubfu's potential—

If guided correctly—

Could step into a completely different realm.

In the Living Room

Oliver closed the box slowly.

Mega Evolution.

Elemental balance.

Martial refinement.

Everything was progressing simultaneously.

Outside—

A Heavenly King personally training his Pokémon.

Inside—

Fifteen Mega Stones secured.

The foundation was being laid.

Steadily.

Silently.

For a future storm.
