Chapter 7 - Introductions

...

No, don't panic, me. Mom made sure that no one else would know the truth about my body. So, this rumour must not be about me...

Yeah, it's all just baseless rumours. Just wild fantasies of the thirsty women of this world...

My mood was reflected in my response to Michelle as I spoke to her,

"Hahaha, isn't that too much to assume? I mean, which boy would ever dare to disguise himself as a girl? Wouldn't that force him to act closely with the girls? Would any real boy ever desire such a situation? And, what if he gets found out?"

Michelle looked troubled upon hearing my analysis of the rumour, as she muttered,

"How could that be... they say that there can't be smoke without fire! And, just imagining it to be true seems so exciting, right~?"

Yes, yes... You care about the excitement factor a lot more than it being real. Phew... that felt like a close call. Now, only if everyone else believes this analysis as well... but, would these dreamy girls ever give up their delusional hope?

No, is it really possible that they are speaking the truth? A guy attending school while cross-dressing? No, a guy born in this world would surely get scared of the mere thought of that kind of situation. That notion is too hard to believe.

As our talk continued, the Teacher Thea returned to the class, motioning for the class to quiet down.

Wow, that was a good talk to have. I never imagined having this much fun right at the beginning of my school term. Michelle really is kind and polite, even engaging in talk with me, who felt so awkward alone at the beginning. Hmm, there indeed is hope for this new and exciting part of my life.

No more looking out the window, pretending to be mysterious anymore.

My first friend, this is kind of nice.

...

Teacher Thea spoke about some stuff regarding the regulations of the school and the responsibilities of the students, especially towards their studies, but I just filtered it out. I mean, who listens to that kind of stuff seriously?

Rather, I hoped for something fun to happen soon. A wish that soon got fulfilled.

"Alright, I know that none of you is interested in hearing the old me talk. You have all been looking forward to the self-introductions, right? Since proper classes begin from tomorrow, it's best to get acquainted with your classmates today. And after the introductions, we can decide the appointment of the class figures as well."

Class figures? Maybe some other positions besides the class representative that Michelle spoke of. Nope, want no part of it for myself. I don't believe that I am ready to handle that kind of responsibility right now. I am here to have fun after all. Rather, I should try finding interesting girls to befriend from the introductions.

"Now, the order of call is random, so be prepared, everyone. Okay, the first one would be... Alice Jenks. Go for it."

"Y-Yes!"

So, the students won't be called alphabetically? Better be prepared.

The girl named Alice seemed a bit childish yet cute, with amber eyes and green hair tied up with an accessory; she gave off a kind of harmless aura.

"Um, my name is Alice Jenks. Nice to meet you, everyone. I like to draw anime characters and fan art for my favourite novels in my free time. Since my mom helped me learn, I am somewhat proficient in tea making. My strong subjects are language studies. Thank you for listening to me."

AS Alice finished her introduction, she was greeted by a round of applause started by the girls around her, before the rest of the class joined in as well. Alice blushed shyly and bowed once before she sat down.

So that's how it is done, huh? Nice, I can do something similar too. But... what are my hobbies exactly? Cloud watching?"

"Nicely done, Alice. Okay, Next one is Becky West."

"Yes."

A black-haired girl responded to the teacher as she stood up. She gave of a strong aura of 'don't bother me', as if written all over her face, with a goth style make-up, she created her own look even with the compulsory school uniform on.

"My name is Becky. Call me just that. I am good at playing musical instruments. My younger sister loves music, so I learned how to play it. I don't like troublesome people. Thanks."

Whoa... she's got a thorny personality. Still, more open and upfront than most others. And she seems like she keeps up with fashion too, even if some niche style, not to mention that she can play music too.

Still, was it that bad? I noticed the guys cringed at Becky's intro way more than that of Alice.

"Alright. Next one is... Faith Devlin."

At that, a girl with a bright smile stood up. She seemed somewhat tomboyish, with her black hair only reaching her shoulders.

"It's a pleasure meeting you all. I am Faith Devlin. I love all things anime and games, so I look forward to finding more friends who share similar interests. I am not that good at sports. So, please don't mind me. I am happy to be here."

A big round of applause came up again, at which Faith smiled cheerfully. Rather, the response from the boys was a lot more visible than before. Do they share the same hobbies as her?

"Well done, Faith. Okay, who's next... Felicity Cage. You go next."

"Okay, Teach."

A healthy, tanned girl answered the call as she stood up. The rare violet-haired girl roamed her eyes around the whole class before she spoke at ease,

"Hey, everyone. The teacher already spoke my name, so for those who didn't catch that, I am Felicity. My sexy figure gets me a lot of attention, so I don't mind you all looking at me as much as you want to. I was told by my mother to become kinder, so I will try doing that this year. I started reading books recently, so I am looking forward to some good recommendations. Feel free to talk to me."

Felicity sat down as soon as she finished talking, leaving the others staring at her in a daze.
