In a facility that's near the walls of the Boneyard. Many humans study the reports provided to them about the sudden threat on the human Community.
Devil spawns usually avoid Dead dungeon locations. But devil spawns never follow there own nature. So finding these devils attacking or making nests near the Boneyard is way to common.
The dead dungeon needs protection so no harm can be done to the civilians.
Boneyard has some part of government to make an superficial picture of a modern society. Even though the whole human community is still in the hands of one man and people under him.
Ghost isn't a dictator or a cruel monster. He just doesn't care about the people of his community holds. So most of the responsibility of protecting the Boneyard goes to Soulheart's soldiers or the government.
In return for keeping the Boneyard safe they get to keep a small section of the government in the Boneyard.
Government isn't as strong in the East world. But is like a watchful eye over the strong humans like Ghost. If humans were to start killing humans. Humanity will fall in no time.
Those are the concerns of humans though.
Right now, inbetween the troubled humans who are getting ready to get the orders to face the devil spawn. Tension and stress is high in the air.
There is something else inbetween the humans. Everything seems to be unaware and incapable of understanding that presence. But it is visible to the eyes so it isn't like the creature is invisible.
It must be something that have to do with the creature itself.
Right now, it seem to be looking at the reports about the devil spawns. It seemed to be in a bad mood.
'SV054 spawn, capable of flight and supersonic hearing. General shape of the creature is of a bat…okay, they're not gonna explain how a bat supposed to look like, Great... It despises light, huh…?'
It sighs.
The creature had studied these…animals… that have gone extinct or are usual found in East world. But there are just so many of these creatures. Who can ever remember so many details about so many extinct things. It is just mad at the one who wrote these reports about the devil spawn.
The creature itself has wrote reports in the past. It has a scout like job in the government. It isn't a very pleasant job but that's all it got.
The reports about the devil spawns should consist of more characteristics about the devil. Each devil is unique, even the two similar looking devils are different from each other to a greater degree.
Also there should be a naming scheme for these devils. SV054, is a nomenclature that is used to name these devils. "S" means that it is Soar in the sky and "V" means it is some sort of a vertebrate and the numbers are used to serialize them.
It is a simple method. But it prefer to give them names. Remembering these numbers is difficult on the mind.
The creature likes to give some sort of names to these thing. Even if it isn't very good at coming up with good names. It will get better at naming someday.
It also has a very peculiar name and that is Steel. To him, his name is perfect and doesn't want anything better than that.
There are two more devil spawns that are near the Boneyard.
Next one is EI023, it is an insect like creature with hard exterior skeleton. The devil is covered entirely with that exterior skeleton. Making the attacks on the devil pretty useless.
The creature also hasn't shown any sign of moment. It is at the same location for quite sometime now.
According to the one who wrote the report, the devil spawn could be doing a metamorphic type transformation. It is just a simple guess of that human.
'…that's all? couldn't they've checked if it is even alive? Who made this report? I need to have a talk with that moron.'
Steel is almost offended by this report.
He takes pride in this scouting business. He doesn't enjoy it but he doesn't have to enjoy a thing to be proud of it, life isn't about enjoying or living. It is about killing or dying or hiding in the shadow like this particular demon, Steel.
Steel doesn't wanna complain about the work of that human. Even if he takes pride in this work, he still prefer to not do it entirely. The best way to be safe is to be away from the danger, you see.
Steel looks at the last devil spawn's details.
The report says that it is like a lizard like creature but it resembles a snake much more. The creature is small and from the looks of it is harmless. There is still some caution needed to be taken when dealing with it.
'is this that snake with odd feet…?'
It is the devil that steel had tried to hunt down in the past. That devil had almost killed him if he wasn't for River backpack that he carried in his back.
He does hate that creature to a great degree. But he isn't interested in killing that creature himself. He would be satisfied if someone else were to kill that devil. It doesn't matter who kills it as long as the devil is dead.
He is back to this human job now. So he has to go out with the other humans to hunt these devils. Fortunately, he can just watch from afar. His role is basically scouting or surveying the surroundings.
Steel is also trying to gather information on how to travel to the West world. He still have close to two years to deliver River there.
As he put the report down. Somebody comes to him, he looked a little confused. So he has make himself known.
"I am Steel. I am under officer Jane…"
The man seem to finally recognize him.
"Oh yes, sorry. I just zoned out I guess. Please come with me. You are called the meeting…"
Steel nodes and follows the human. He can guess who would be the one to call him.
