Trevor
I pulled over in a dark alley few blocks away from the butcher shop. I turned to my team.
"Ready?"
The lady with the curly black wig on the passengers seat, Ethel nodded and said.
"I'll keep him distracted" she adjusted her wig. She's to play Ms Blackwood's role.
"Don't get killed" Dave said from the backseat. She turned, glaring at him.
"Bet you'll die before me" she shot back, unlocking the door and slipping out without before he could retort.
"Dave, Greg, to the door" I commanded and they filed themselves out of the car. I tapped my earbuds connecting to my men at the building.
"One man in the shop, sir. A van at the junction with just a driver" came the report.
"Stay sharp. Ethel's in. Engage at any sign of trouble. But don't kill him" Boss wants a tongue to rip off. The mission is simple, take the messenger alive and kill anyone that gets on our way.
"Noted" I kept the line open as I dialed Vincent.
"Area's clear. They only sent two" he confirmed. I tapped my earbuds again, connecting the line to the penthouse.
"Ethel is in. We shall deliver your package in 30" my tactical eyes darted around the dark alley as I said. Silence. Then a low hum of rage from Boss could be heard. The man is ready to lose billions to keep his woman safe. At first, I thought it was ridiculous. But then I understood. Failure of this mission means he'd burn the city down. And Freya-- Ms Vale would be in pieces.
I crushed that thought immediately. There'll be no losing. No failure.
Ms Blackwood and Ms Vale, they would be safe. They would live.
I got into full protective mode as I alighted from the car. I will take care of the man in the van.
I took out my silent revolver when I sighted the van. As Vincent said, one man. How foolish. I opened the door and entered the back seat.
"You took so long Theodore" the man groaned, sitting up.
"The name is Mr Graves. Here to put you in your grave" I shot him in the head. Blood splattered on the dashboard as his head dropped to the steering.
The man inside is trapped. We should be done in 15.
Aurelia
This is insane. I paced to and fro in my room trying to come up with a plan. I tried calling Freya but her line isn't reachable. That only heightened my terror. What if she's in danger? What if they already have her? I swallowed the lump in my throat as I collapsed on the bed. The first mission is leaving this penthouse. It is nearly impossible for me, Aurelia, to do it alone.
Anyways, I wouldn't know if I didn't try. You'd never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option you have. I sneaked out of my room, walking on my heels as I made my way to the living room. I stopped right on my tracks when I saw Trevor and a curly haired lady heading towards Jayvion's study. The lady...she looked like me. Dark skinned. Curly haired. Same height. Cream gown!! Who is she?
I kept asking questions I don't have answers to until I saw them coming back from the study, with Jayvion behind them. What is happening?
"Where is he?" Jayvion's voice was ice in the dark living room and I shrunk back against the wall.
"The basement, boss" Trevor replied, leading the way.
I followed them. Ten paces away, occasionally hiding so they don't notice my trail. We made it to the basement and they all entered. I stopped at the door, peeping. I could get a clear view of what's going on inside. I froze.
It was dark, save for the light dangling above a man bound to a metal chair in the middle of the room. He was shirtless, his face bloodied and disfigured as his head hung low. Jayvion took steady steps towards him, circling him like a shark before attacking his prey. He stood before him and crouched.
"I have nothing to tell you" the man mumbled, loud enough for everyone to hear. Jayvion stretched his hand and Trevor placed a sleek silver dagger. Now what is he going to do with that? Don't tell me...
Slash! The sound of knife cutting flesh was so gruesome I gasped. The man's scream was deafening, I know it'll haunt me in my sleep for days.
"Still nothing to say?" Jayvion asked again, his voice deceptively calm. He had his back to me so I couldn't see expression. But this is not the Jayvion I know. This is a brutal, merciless villain who had been provoked for a long time. Now the prey is paying the price.
"The leader-- he- he won't stop till he has her" he shrieked in fear when Jayvion stepped closer. His breathing was laboured.
"He would take her no matter what" he paused and took a deep breath. I looked closely, giving him my rapt attention through the door.
This doesn't sound like the leader wants me because he wanted to get Jayvion. It sounded personal. This is about me. Aurelia.
The man looked up, his face a mess of pain and tears.
"He said...she has her eyes" Her eyes. Twyla.
