[The following morning] Bing: *on the back of his sky Bison* So I'll see you guys sooner than later. Alee: Don't you want to stay just in case we deal with another spirit? Bing: You have the Avatar by your side. Besides, I gotta check up on my grandfather. Tenzin: *on his own Sky Bison with his family* Are you sure you don't want to learn the spiritual ways with me, Korra? What if another spirit comes and you're not ready? Korra: I'll be fine. My uncle will help me do the best I can. Bumi: Hurry up, let's go see Uncle Karu already. Kya: Stop acting like you're a child. Besides, I'm Uncle Karu's favourite. Tenzin: Would both of you stop it. Besides, im the airbender, so I am his favourite. [They ride off to the Southern Air Nomad Temples] Unalaq: Tonight, we will venture into the South Pole so we may again see the Southern Lights. [Hours pass as they all set up to go towards the South Pole] Alee: *unties his hair as he finishes up setting up his items* Korra: *sitting on the back of Naga with Mako* There's room for one more, you know. Alee: It's fine. I'll ride a snow Camel. *he gets on the back of a snow camel* Mako: Hey Korra. It's fine if he doesn't want to. We can't force him. *he places his hand on her shoulder* Korra: *shrugs off his hand* Yeah, I know. Bolin: *sitting on the snowmobile given to him by Varrick* Eska: *walks up to Bolin and speaks in a low montone voice* Does the side car fit two people? Bolin: *smiles* Yes, my sweet? But who would be driving? Eska: *she sits in the side car* You, of course. Desna: *sits next to Eska* Bolin: *frowns as he starts driving* [Later; At a campsite they made in a cave] Korra: *sitting in between Unalaq and Mako* Hey uncle. Why do you think the dark spirits are following us? Bolin: *snuggles closer to Eska as he trembles* Can we not talk about Dark Spirits, please? Mako: My brother doesn't like ghost stories. Eska: *speaks in a low montone voice* Don't worry, I'll protect you, my fearful turtleduck. Alee: *looks at Eska and Bolin before looking at Korra* Korra: *looks at him before blushing and turning away* Alee: *gets up* Excuse me. I have to go. *he walks away from the campsite* Korra: I'll go check on him… Suru: Don't bother. I'll do it myself. *she stands and goes after Alee* Unalaq: Unfortunately, this is not a ghost story. This is really life. They are mad because your father is here. Tonraq: *looks at Unalaq with a frustrated expression* Unalaq: Haven't you always wondered why your father lives here in the Southern Water Tribe and how he never takes you home to the Northern Water Tribe? Tonraq: Unalaq, this is not the time. Unalaq: You're right. You should have told her a long time ago. Tonraq: *sighs as he looks down* I never left the North Pole. I was banished. Korra: *her eyes open widely in horror* Wait how… Tonraq: I almost destroyed it. You see, about 20 years ago, I was the leader of an army, and we were fighting a massive threat. We managed to chase them out of the city, but they retreated into a forest. This forest was believed to be the home of several spirits. They thought we wouldn't attack on such hollow grounds but they were wrong… We left the forest destroyed beyond recognition and before we knew it, the spirits were mad with me as so they started destroying our home. In order to stop them from doing any further damage, my father, who was the chief at the time, banished me. And so I left… Korra: *she stands up as she looks at her father with anger and disappointment* You could have told me! And yet… *she storms out of the cave* Tonraq: *looks down, disappointed in himself* Korra: *clearing her tears as she walks out into the snow but stops as she hears a sound* Hello… *she turns towards the direction of the noise and her eyes open widely* Suru: *cupping the face of Alee as she kisses him on the lips* Alee: *stops kissing her and smiles with a blush on his face* [The following morning; Southern Air Nomad Temples] Karu: *meditating as he opens his eyes and sees Meelo* Meelo: *smiling as he looks at Karu* Hello, old man! Karu: What is it that you want, boy? Meelo: My dad wanted to ask you if you wanted to eat breakfast with us, but he was very shy. Karu: *sighs* I suppose that would be nice. *he stands up and stretches his arms and body* Bing: *looks towards Karu* Grandfather, would you please teach me gravity bending? Karu: *raises his eyebrow before he shakes his head* Now, where is the food? Bumi: *places his hand on Bing's shoulder* You gotta be energetic with it, kid! Put some energy into it. Bing: *sighs before he goes to the dining hall* Jinora: *walks into the room with all the statues of the previous Avatar's* Wow… *she hears a sudden whisper and turns to face it but sees nothing* [Later that day; near the South Pole] Unalaq: *points towards the South Pole* In there you will find a portal and you will open it. Korra: *nods as she steps off of Naga* Tonraq: I still don't think this is a good idea… Korra: Oh, just like how you kept that secret from me throughout my life?! Unalaq: I think it would be best if you left Tonraq. Tonraq: Korra… Korra: Uncles right dad. Tonraq: *looks down sadly as he nods* Alee, protect her with your life. *he rides his Snow Camel the other way* Korra: *walks closer towards the South Pole* Alee: *follows her* You know, treating your dad like that was cool. Korra: Just shut up and go kiss Suru for all I care. Alee: *blushes* That's none of your business, Korra. Korra: I see. This is Avatar business, and yet I see you following me, and last time I remember, you're not the damn Avatar… Alee: *he holds her arm* I'm your Moral Compass. My soul duty is to ensure you make the right decisions in life. I'm bound to be close to you, and if that means I die with you, then so be it. Korra: *blushes furiously and groans loudly as she shoves off his arm* I hate you! *she enters the cave* Alee: *enters aswell* Mako: *looks at the two enter and feels uneasy* I should be the one going with her. Bolin: You aren't no Avatar, and you sure aren't a moral compass. Mako: *gives him a stern look* Bolin: *hides behind Eska* Forget I said anything. [Inside the cave] Korra: *standing on top of a barrier of spiritual ice* I can't bend this… *she tries punching it* Can't break it either… Alee: *covers his hand in lightning and tries to cut the barrier* No go. Maybe if we combine, we could… *looks at Korra and smiles* You good? Korra: *blushing heavily as she looks at him* I'm sorry for my behaviour. I just missed you a lot, and I hate how we got into a fight instantly. Alee: I'm sorry. I was busy being an idiot too. *sighs of relief as he places his hand on the barrier* Korra: *places her hand ontop of his as she activates the Avatar state and they both open up the South Pole Portal* [Outside the Cake] Mako: *smiles* They did it. [Inside the portal] Alee and Korra: *kissing eachother on the lips before they both simultaneously pull back and awkwardly leave the cave* Bolin: *runs up to them and hugs them* You guys did it… Eska: *pulls back Bolin* No touching! Mako: *hugs Korra* I'm proud of you! Korra: *hugs him back as she looks at Alee* Alee: *smiles at her before he walks over to Suru* Unalaq: *looking at the portal* 〔Stage one has been accomplished〕
