Chapter 157 - Traffic Light

The rain was still falling.

Cold rainwater washed over the dark stone gargoyles of Gotham City.

Mixed with the dust of the ruins, it flowed down Bruce Wayne's resolute but blood-stained face.

He pressed the red button on his gauntlet. That was the Justice League's assembly signal and Earth's final line of defense.

"Oh?"

Frieza floated a meter above the ground, hands tucked into the pockets of his white suit trousers, watching Bruce's small movements.

He didn't stop him. Instead, he raised an eyebrow with great interest.

"Calling for backup?"

"That's more like it."

Frieza turned around elegantly, looking at the thunder and signal lights flashing in the sky.

"I hate catching mice one by one the most. Since I'm clearing out illegal structures, it's naturally easier to call all the owners together and settle it once and for all."

Before his voice had even faded—

BOOM!!!

The dark clouds in the sky were torn apart by violent energy.

A bolt of golden lightning, a green flash of light, and an aura as deep blue as the ocean descended upon the ruins almost simultaneously.

"Bruce!"

Accompanied by a feminine shout, a woman wearing red, blue, and gold armor, holding a sword and shield, descended from the sky like a Valkyrie, standing in front of Bruce.

Wonder Woman, Diana Prince.

Immediately following...

Zzzzt—

Red lightning jumped frantically through the ruins.

When the electric light stopped, a young man in a red skin-tight suit revealed himself. He was panting slightly, clearly having sprinted all the way here.

The Flash, Barry Allen.

"Already here? This is probably the fastest I've run in my life..."

Before Barry could finish, he was stunned by the white figure in front of him.

Then...

Boom!

A long-haired muscular man, bare-chested and holding a trident, landed heavily, causing the concrete floor beneath him to crack instantly.

Aquaman, Arthur Curry.

There was also a half-human, half-machine Cyborg, currently raising the energy cannon on his arm, his red electronic eye locked onto Frieza.

Cyborg, Victor Stone.

Justice League, assemble!

Looking at this group of superheroes surrounding him, a look of heartfelt disdain appeared on Frieza's face.

"Tsk tsk..."

He shook his head and extended a finger, pointing several times in the air.

"Red, green, yellow, blue..."

"Are you wearing a color palette on your bodies?"

Frieza covered his forehead, looking like he couldn't bear to watch.

"This color scheme is simply like traffic lights coming to life. Can't you have some taste?"

"Even Thanos at least knew to wear gold armor to keep up appearances."

Frieza sighed, "You guys are truly as tacky as can be."

"Bastard! What are you saying?!"

The short-tempered Arthur was the first who couldn't take it anymore. He swung the trident in his hand violently, pointing it at Frieza.

"You're the one who injured Clark?!"

"Injured?"

Frieza let out a light laugh.

"No, Mr. Fishpond Manager. I just helped him loosen up his muscles and bones a bit."

"And by the way..."

Frieza pointed to the distant smoking mountain peak.

"I helped him find a cooler graveyard."

"You bastard!!!" Diana roared.

As the sister of Ares, the God of War, the word 'fear' did not exist in her dictionary.

Only battle did.

Boom!

Diana's legs exerted force, and she transformed into a golden flash of light. The Sword of Athena in her hand, possessing the sharpness to cut through all things, went straight for Frieza's throat.

"Too slow."

Facing this blade capable of slicing through a tank, Frieza didn't even lift an eyelid. He just casually raised his left hand and extended two fingers.

Ding!

An extremely crisp sound of metal clashing rang out.

That Sword of Athena, reputed to be able to slay gods, was just like that, its blade firmly caught by those two slender fingers

It didn't move an inch!

"What?!"

Diana's pupils contracted sharply.

She felt as if her strike had hit an unshakeable cosmic divine mountain. No matter how hard she tried, the blade seemed as if it had grown onto the opponent's fingers. She couldn't pull it back, nor could she press it down.

"Lady."

Frieza tilted his head slightly, looking at Diana who was close at hand.

Those crimson eyes were full of playfulness.

"Running around with dangerous items like swords is very unladylike behavior."

"And..."

Frieza's gaze fell on the golden rope at Diana's waist.

"That rope looks quite interesting. Is it for playing bondage games?"

"Shameless!"

Overwhelmed with shame and anger, Diana smashed the shield in her left hand toward Frieza's face but it was meaningless.

Snap!

Frieza flicked his finger lightly and a terrifying surge of energy conducted through the sword's body.

Diana felt a sharp pain in her palm, and the Sword of Athena actually flew right out of her hand.

Immediately following, Frieza delivered a backhand slap.

Slap!

Crisp and loud.

Just like swatting a mosquito.

That Amazonian warrior was sent spinning like a top by this single slap, flying away.

Rumble!

Diana crashed through three buildings in succession, finally getting embedded into a giant billboard.

"Diana!"

Bruce was pale with shock.

One move?

Even Diana wasn't a match for a single exchange?
