"So, are you saying that this completely ordinary-looking cave contains the Dragon God Legacy, which is comparable to or even better than the Phoenix Legacy?" Zhuyun asked in shock. Although, with her power, she could sense the pure dragon aura emanating from the cave, she was still stunned that no one had discovered this place before.
"That's right. This is something a fragment of the Phoenix God's soul told me when I obtained her inheritance while training in the Ten Thousand Beast Mountain Range," Xichen nodded. He had decided that Zhuyun was someone he could trust, and therefore didn't hide this matter from her.
But if she betrayed him, it would mean he truly didn't understand others, and that would be his fault alone. However, right now, he had decided to place his trust in her and tell her about the two inheritances.
With this thought, the two began descending from the sky towards the cave, both feeling the extremely pure dragon aura.
Rooar!!
Suddenly, a deafening dragon roar echoed through the area, and two Flood Dragons emerged from the forest near the cave, unleashing a murderous intent towards the pair.
"Leave this place immediately, humans!!" one of the Flood Dragons spoke in the human tongue while staring threateningly at the two, though it was clearly wary of them.
Although the pair were only at the peak of the Sky Profound Realm, it was obvious they were stronger. While they could sense Xichen's power in the Emperor Profound Realm, the woman accompanying him possessed a terrifying and unfathomable aura. Her aura seemed as vast as an ocean, causing fear in the two Flood Dragons. However, they didn't allow their fear to control them, especially since it was clear the humans were targeting the cave that was the source of their current power.
"How about you return quietly to your nest, and we ignore each other?" Xichen asked, golden flames surrounding him, making it clear he wouldn't hesitate to kill the Flood Dragons if they didn't accept his words. With his power, he could easily defeat them, especially since he was far stronger than others at the same level.
One of the Flood Dragons hesitated for a moment, while the other snarled and let out a roar that shook the heavens:
"This place belongs to us! We have guarded it for centuries, and anyone who approached the cave has died under our fangs! Even if you are stronger, dragon blood is not shed without a price!"
"It seems you want to die," Xichen said coldly, stepping forward in front of Zhuyun, clearly intending to handle the matter himself.
Although the Flood Dragon lineage was inferior to that of True Dragons, the strength of these two wasn't bad. He could sell their bodies for a decent price, or even use them to make pills to increase his power.
Golden flames spread from Xichen's body, gathering behind him in the form of petals that accumulated until they formed a golden lotus, radiating terrifying heat and power, enough to turn any ordinary person in the Sky Profound Realm to ash in an instant.
"Star Scorching Demon Lotus..." Xichen muttered as he gestured towards the stunned Flood Dragons.
Swish!
The lotus made of golden flame shot forward at immense speed, spreading terrifying heat everywhere, and in the blink of an eye, it was in front of the pair of Flood Dragons.
Boom!!
With a deafening explosion, the area around the Flood Dragons transformed into a sea of terrifying golden flame, incinerating everything within it to ash.
But of course, the Flood Dragons were stronger than humans at the same level and possessed much tougher physical constitutions. Therefore, their bodies would remain largely intact, though they would emerge from the attack with severe injuries and gasping their last breaths, if they weren't already dead.
The power of the Star Scorching Demon Lotus was terrifying. Even though Xichen hadn't used its full power, it had turned a 60-meter radius into a sea of golden flames, devouring everything.
"..." Zhuyun stared at the scene before her, her cherry-red lips slightly parted in shock. The power Xichen had displayed was comparable to someone in the Tyrant Profound Realm, and from his relaxed appearance, it was clear he hadn't even used his full strength.
"My god... what world did this person come from?" Zhuyun murmured to herself, staring steadily at Xichen's back as he stood in the middle of the golden sea of flames, like a lord of fire, or even... its very incarnation.
Seconds passed before the flames gradually faded, revealing the two Flood Dragons' bodies lying on the ground, their scales shattered and large parts of their bodies turned to charred coal. One no longer moved, while the other barely breathed its last, crawling with difficulty, leaving a trail of thick black blood behind.
Although they were of the dragon lineage, they were no match for the Star Scorching Demon Lotus... This technique was not just an attack, but a verdict of annihilation.
Roar!
The Flood Dragon let out its final roar, a cry that tore through the surrounding silence, before its massive body collapsed to the ground, motionless.
"..." Xichen stared indifferently at the dragon corpses and stored them in his Storage Ring. They would be useful for medicinal baths to strengthen his physical constitution.
"Let's go," Xichen said, and headed towards the nearby cave where the Dragon God Legacy resided.
As for the Dragon God's anger towards him for killing the two Flood Dragons, Xichen wasn't worried. He had given the two Flood Dragons a chance to leave, but they had refused. Additionally, he was a true inheritor of the Phoenix, and that was a strong reason to prevent anything from being done to him, as the Phoenix placed great importance on the character of her inheritor. It would be impossible for them to be evil or despicable.
Or at least, that's how the Dragon God would see it.
"..." Zhuyun stared at the blackened, lifeless ground for a moment before following Xichen, a happy smile playing on her alluring lips. It was clear she was delighted to see that Xichen had truly become strong.
