Chapter 119: A Knight Beyond Death

"Ser Galahad." Harry had recognized the knight as well. It was another one of King Arthur's elite knights and a member of the Round Table. "How many of them have been brought back to life?" He now wondered about that.

He had been concerned about this when he first encountered Lancelot all those months ago and hoped he had been an isolated case.

'Damn it… is this your doing, Arthur? Why won't you leave your knights to rest in peace?' Harry felt a surge of anger.

And he was not the only one…

"Harry… can you leave him to me?" Morgan asked.

There was something in her amber eyes that told him that she was not going to take no for an answer in this matter.

"You sure?"

She nodded. "Go ahead without me. I need to have a word with my cousin."

"If he is in the same state as Lancelot, I don't think he can talk, but good luck." Harry observed the knight as he walked towards the next door.

Galahad seemed to be looking back at him, and for a moment, Harry thought he was letting him walk away.

That was not the case.

The old knight moved as fast as lightning and loaded another glowing arrow into his bow before shooting it at him.

However, Morgan could match his speed with no issues and intercepted the arrow before giving Harry a look that said 'go.'

Morgan saw Galahad load two more arrows at the same time. The arrows didn't come from a quiver; they seemed to be summoned constructs created by magic.

She found this curious, as her cousin Galahad never had such an ability, nor did any of the other knights, for that matter.

Whoever had resurrected him had also made some changes.

The two arrows were shot in two different directions, avoiding Morgan completely.

She turned her head and saw the arrows change direction, going directly for Harry.

In an instant, the witch brought forth her staff. "Tempestas Obice (Storm Shield)."

A barrier made of wind blocked the way for the arrows and allowed Harry to escape the chamber.

Galahad did not speak a word, but Morgan could tell that he did not like that.

This time, he loaded three arrows, and they were all shot at her. She took note of the technique he was using to load and shoot multiple arrows. This was something that Galahad had been known for during his life at Camelot.

They called him the 'Golden Arrow' because of his bow skills and golden hair. The man was considered the best archer in the realm, and a true prodigy.

Morgan used her superior physical capabilities and avoided the arrows by simply stepping away.

The glowing arrows shifted their trajectory to follow her, and as she moved across the chamber, the arrows followed her every move.

"Fine then." She moved her staff before her and summoned another wind shield to stop them as she had before.

The arrows lost their momentum when they touched the shield and disappeared immediately.

"Mmm?" She felt movement behind her.

Galahad was at her back with a short sword in his left hand, ready to stab her neck.

Morgan twisted her body and let the sword pass by, taking a few of her black hairs.

She then used the lower part of her staff as a weapon and hit the knight on the side of his head.

For the first time, she got a good look at what little could be seen of his face beneath the helmet.

The rotting flesh, the glowing blue eyes, the inability to speak or communicate in any way… there was nothing left of the man she once knew.

Morgan had wanted to make sure, so she was going easy on him. But there was no more need for that.

"Zephyr!" A powerful blast of wind pushed the undead knight away from her.

"That's too bad… I had hoped there was something left in that rotten head of yours… there were a few things I wanted to tell you, cousin. Oh well."

Morgan's eyes glowed with even more intensity than those of the knight.

She tipped her black staff forward, and sparks of lightning emerged on its surface. "Fulmen."

The lightning was not immediately released. It tightened around Morgan while threads of electricity ran along the length of her staff. The faint humming noise rose into a sharp, violent hiss.

Galahad did not wait for her to strike. The undead knight rushed forward once more, moving much faster than before.

Five arrows came out at once. They burned brighter than the previous ones.

Morgan smiled. "If that is your best… it won't be enough to stop this."

The arrows did not scatter this time, and instead, they all seemed to converge into a single point, aimed directly at her chest.

Morgan narrowed her eyes. The lightning around her staff began to flare. "Too slow."

Before the arrows could reach her, a powerful bolt of lightning was released.

The chamber was bathed in an explosion of light.

A deafening crack tore through the air as a massive bolt of lightning surged outward, swallowing the incoming arrows in an instant and continuing ahead towards its real target.

It struck Galahad directly.

The impact drove the knight into the far end of the chamber with tremendous force. His armored body slammed against one of the engraved pillars hard enough to fracture the stone itself.

For a moment, everything went still.

Smoke rose from the point of impact.

The faint glow of residual electricity flickered across the ground.

Morgan lowered her staff slightly, her amber eyes focused on the knight. "That should have—"

She froze when she heard it.

A low sound echoed through the chamber.

From within the settling dust, a faint golden light began to emerge.

"What the…" Morgan watched in shock as the knight stood from the ground with a gaping hole in his chest.

The cracks in his armor were glowing with an intense golden light, and Galahad's eyes were now shining in the same color.

Something had clearly changed in the knight.

Galahad opened his mouth as if he were shouting, but no sound came out.

"What are y—" Before Morgan could finish the question, she noticed something strange.

The runes she had previously seen engraved on the pillars were now glowing with the same golden light as Galahad's armor.

The knight raised his bow again. This time, when the arrow formed, it was no longer blue… it burned gold.
