Chapter 14 - Get a move on

A little while back in time,

On the lunar cruiser.

"I am ready."

Sibylla looked around and spoke to the Custodes.

To better unleash the God-Emperor's wrath upon those traitors, she had tested numerous psychic spells and confirmed she was in peak condition.

Leonardo held his newly acquired weapon, a freshly forged Custodes guardian spear, gently caressing it as a sense of nostalgia welled up in his heart.

"Me too."

Just before, Adam had also conveniently transformed him into a Reality Warper.

As a Reality Warper, although he couldn't harness infinite power by prying open the Warp like Sibylla and Lucia, Leonardo could still use this ability to enhance his alarius terminator armor and the machine spirit of his guardian spear.

"By the way, where is Lord Adam? Why isn't he here?"

"I'm here."

From the side, Adam's voice came from afar.

His figure appeared in the distance and he walked over, with Lucia still closely guarding him, following his every step.

"Wait, what is that?"

Sibylla seemed to have seen something, pausing slightly.

She saw a strange-looking... cannon? automatically following behind Adam.

"Oh, I just had an idea."

Adam explained casually, "Although the team's strength is completely sufficient to board a Chaos Astartes vessel with plenty to spare, if the enemy brings out heavy vehicles to block us, it might be a bit tricky."

"So, I went to the armory in the ship where Astra Militarum weapons are stored, and Emperor be praised, I actually found a Leman Russ Executioner!"

He patted the self-propelled gun next to him with an air of complete confidence.

Sibylla and Leonardo exchanged glances.

They probably realized what had happened, staring at the strange-looking cannon for a while before saying in unison: "Did you... dismantle the main gun from that tank?"

"Exactly,"

Adam nodded. "I took down that Ryza-pattern plasma main gun and welded it onto the track chassis of a Thunderfire Cannon. Then I used my Reality Warping Ability to carry it. I reckon this thing's power is absolutely potent."

"Alright, then..."

Even the well-traveled Leonardo had never seen such a sight. He clicked his tongue, "If the followers of the omnissiah saw such, how should I put it... a very bold modification, they would definitely let out sharp binary screams."

"Heh, who cares?"

Adam said casually, "Everything's ready, let's teleport."

"Your will."

Upon hearing the command, Sibylla immediately drew her power sword, and vast psychic energy converged around her.

With a forceful swing, a huge Warp rift appeared before everyone, its interior glowing with deep wave-blue light, as if surging tides churned within.

"Let's go, the show is about to begin!"

Without the slightest hesitation, the four entered in single file, passing through the rift.

Upon entering the Warp, Adam closed his eyes, timely retracting all his senses to avoid inadvertently activating his Reality Warping Ability and causing too much interference with the teleportation.

The time spent traversing the Warp was short; almost in the next moment, the white light of teleportation dissipated.

Returning to the real universe, Adam felt his brain reel, a slight disorientation.

He had just steadied himself when he saw Lucia and Leonardo transform into two hurricane-like gusts of air, surging past him, sweeping through the space recklessly.

Immediately after, the whoosh of weapons, heavy thuds, falling bodies, gushing blood, and screams instantly intertwined, incessant.

By the time Adam had fully recovered and looked around, the original teleportation chamber was a wreck, fragmented pieces scattered everywhere, forming a bizarre landscape like a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood.

All the enemies who had been in the room, whether Space Marines or mortal cultists, were indiscriminately and swiftly turned into floor decorations by the combined efforts of the Living Saint and the Custodes.

"Let me see."

Sibylla, who hadn't had a chance to strike, waved her hand indifferently, and a Chaos Astartes head still rolling on the ground floated into the air.

Wisps of psychic lightning flew from her fingertips, piercing the surface, and the brain inside was charred by the furious psychic energy.

Approximately two seconds later, Sibylla withdrew her psychic energy and said, "I have obtained the general internal structure of this strike cruiser. We now have two options: one is to go directly to the Bridge and decapitate the leader of this Chaos Warband;

The second is to go to the Warp engine and destroy the ship. Both routes can achieve our objective."

"...Choose the first one, go to the Bridge."

Adam immediately decided, "With our current strength, dealing with a Chaos Warband leader should be a piece of cake. If we go to destroy the Warp engine, we'd have to hold back in combat, both fearing too much destruction leading to an explosion that would engulf us, and having to guard against the enemy going berserk and taking us down with them, which would be more troublesome."

Everyone agreed, endorsing the decision.

Having concluded their discussion, the four individuals plus one self-propelled gun formed a combat formation and exited the teleportation chamber door.

As they advanced, Sibylla quickly and efficiently shared the information obtained from the Chaos Astartes' brain with the others.

From this, everyone gained a general understanding of the Chaos Warband's situation.

"That Chaos Lord, he's also a Dark Apostle?"

Leonardo frowned slightly and immediately suggested, "We must be careful. These Chaos rebels are most adept at various Warp rituals; we need to pay extra attention."

"Understood. These evil tricks will shatter beneath our blades, for the God-Emperor guides our path."

Lucia said calmly and solemnly.

Navigating the corridors of a ship almost completely corrupted by Chaos was clearly not a pleasant experience.

The blood on the floor was almost like paint, staining the interior of the corridor a vivid red. The scent in the air even carried a strange fragrance and warmth, inexplicably reminiscent of a maiden's gentle caress.

Along both sides of the path, various grotesque artworks and sculptures were abundantly displayed, mixed with the blood 'paint,' their hollow eye sockets appearing even more sinister, as if the sculptures possessed life and were secretly observing Adam and the others who had just passed.

Although this Chaos strike cruiser appeared far more 'lively' than other normal ships, in Adam's eyes, it resembled a bloated, dead corpse floating among the stars, and those sculptures were merely the rotting maggots within it.

After traversing the corridor for approximately a few minutes, thanks to their superhuman senses, the group could now faintly hear dense, overlapping footsteps approaching rapidly from a distance, heading towards their squad!
