Chapter 13 - Bestowment

Eris's furious tirade caused Nyx to faintly tremble. For a moment, she could no longer meet her daughters eyes.

She wanted to say that she had indeed abandoned Eris with Zeus, but it was the one decision she regretted most in her entire life.

She had tried to take back her daughter several times, but the sky was Zeus's domain, her power was restricted there.

She wanted to say that she hated herself for letting Eris down. That she was proud of what her daughter had become. And she was consumed by pain and guilt whenever she thought of her.

But no matter how hard she tried, the words wouldn't leave her lips. Instead she let put a sorrowful sigh before kneeling infront of Eris and placing her palm of Adam's forehead.

"I know you wish to save him, but it is beyond your powers. I have the means, so let me make it up to the both of you."

The anger and Hate in Eris's pupils reduced slightly as she handed Adam over to Nyx.

"Take him, but if he comes to any harm. . ."

Nyx nodded glumly. She gathered Adam onto her arms and the summoned agreat darkness to engulf all of their figures. When the darkness lifted, there was no sign of their presence in the surrounding area.

Meanwhile, back at the divine palace, Asteria worriedly paced about once more, frantically searching her mind for anything she could do to pacify her master. She had, after all— as Adam would likely put it— royally fucked up.

But as she considered what she could do to calm her masters anger, a dark fog billowed into the room, and when it faded, it revealed the figure of her goddess.

Asteria had expected Eris to be with her but instead, Nyx carried a wounded dark skinned male of unknown origin in her arms.

Snapping out her surprised state, Asteria immediately fell onto one knee in greeting.

"Master Nyx!"

But Nyx scanned Asteria with an entirely indifferent gaze as she barked out an order.

"Prepare a bed for him immediately"

On the surface, her masters voice seemed calm, but Asteria could detact a hint of urgency and panic she had never heard from Nyx before.

So she dared not dally and had her Star spirits prepare the finest of beds. In addition she prepared a warm bath and a table of the finest dishes the realm had to offer.

Nyx did not bother with Asteria anymore and simply laid Adam on the bed as gently as she could.

Asteria couldn't help but ask meekly. "What does my master intend to do."

Nyx glanced at her coldly. Just when Asteria thought that she wouldn't get a response, her cold voice rang out.

"He is Eris's companion. From what she told me, he is the reason your assassins failed. Even as weak as he is, he was able to turn the tide of the battle. Unfortunately, he was fatally wounded.

Since this entire debacle was due to my failure, the least I can do is to bring him back."

Asteria's eyes glowed with enlightenment, but she frowned the next moment, as there was something she didn't understand.

"I understand your intentions master, but we are gods of the primordial night, not nature and life. Healing is beyond our capacity, how then do you . . ."

Asteria's eyes then met Nyx's and saw something strange within them. A horrible possibility suddenly entered her mind and she reached forward and grabbed Nyx's hands.

"Master you must not!"

Nyx calmly glanced at the place where Asteria was touching her.

Her expression was tranquil, but faint killing intent rising form her form. "Release me this instant."

But Asteria continued on as if she hadn't heard her. "It has never been attempted before and no one knows the effect it will have on you going forward.

Even if he saved your daughter's life, there is no need to go this far.

Please, please do not do this."

"Asteria, you forget yourself." Nyx warned, a dangerous edge to her voice.

Asteria finally came to her senses and let go of Nyx, her eyes were filled with unwillingness as Nyx stretched open her palm and at the tip of her index finger condensed a sliver of pure darkness.

It was a darkness so pure and complete that it had rapidly begun devouring all the light in the chamber.

The color drained from Nyx's face as she staggered on her feet. Asteria immediately supported her master, her face a mess of sorrow.

For she knew better than anyone what Nyx had done. She had forcibly and irreversibly sliced of a piece of her divinity: a horrible act of self mutilation.

Nyx touched Adam's forehead lightly and the sliver of darkness burrowed into him.

Her palm remained on his forehead while she guided the divinity she had imparted to him, watching as it diffused and spread though his body rapidly.

An hour passed.

Then two ..

Then three. .

And then finally slowly Adam's wounds slowly began to mend. Blood vessels repaired themselves, and bones knit back together. Eventually, even the gashes in his skin mended, and all this while the goddess's palm had not once left his forehead.

Another hour passed. The color had long since returned to his face and his complexion was brimming with vitality.

His wounds had also been completely healed, and yet for some strange reason, he still did not wake.

Both Asteria and Nyx frowned at the abnormality. They were just about to check his body again when the strangest thing happened.

Every inch of Adam's body glowed a thermal gold like he was radiocative.

The brilliant light engulfed both Nyx and Asteria, stunning them, they looked on as the light finally dimmed to reveal the flawless form of a young man.

It was the same face, but with features a thousand times more refined, defined by lines and contours so wretchedly perfect that his appearance alone faintly illuminated the chamber.

His dark skin was without blemish, seemingly glowing with a rich golden hue.

In his presence, the world held it's breath.

Nyx and Asteria immediately knew one thing to be true no matter what:

That he was without a doubt the most perfect being to come Into existence.

His eyelids began to tremble faintly before finally fluttering open, revealing a mysterious pair of eyes almost as dark as the goddesses.

As if drawn to her by magic, Adam's gaze immediately fell on the reeling Nyx.

Her ink black hair, like Eris's, dropped down all the way to her calves. Her face. . .

Her face like her daughter Eris was regal and divine in it's beauty, like the night itself.

Only her features were slightly touched by a maturity her daughter did not have.

Her body was sultry and bewitching. Each motion of her large, cantaloupe sized breast threatened to rip Adam's soul out of his body. And as his eyes trailed all the way to her thick white thighs, he found himself unable to remove them.

The goddess before him brimmed with a sensual ripeness he'd never experienced.

Adam thought to restrain himself when he noticed the goddess returning his stare with a deep, hungry intensity.

"What a fine specimen! No wonder my daughter was so attached to you. Asteria, I think I might just steal him for myself. Do you think Eris will mind?"

And for the first time since his arrival this world, Adam was rendered speechles.. He finally released that his body felt different. He touched his face and noted that the coarseness he'd grow used to had been replaced by an elastic and smooth feel.

His body felt as light as a feather, the bands of muscle beneath his skin as powerful as a hydrolic press. The last thing he remembered was detonating the proton grenade at close range.

Adam figured that his survival, and his return to his physical prime were both caused by the goddesses in front of him.

Nyx took a few steps toward Adam to observe him yo close, her eyes lazily drifted across every inch of his body. She was practically glowing with desire when her gaze fell onto the bulge in his pants.

Seeing this display, Asteria finally recalled her master terrifying proclivities. All those close to Nyx new that she had a terrifying libido. If not for the fact that she had jad extremely high standards, Asteria did not doubt that her master would have had many lovers over the ages.

Even so, she had a knack for satisfying her desire by manipulating the lust of her servants and watching them fall into depravity. Asteria was currently the only servant yet to fall into her clutches. But she knew it was only a matter of time.

"Yes.. .Asteria I think I just decided. I am going to keep him."

Of course Asteria tried to be the voice of reason.

"Master, you can't steal away your daughters companion. And to top it all he is basically an infant compared to you. What would the other gods say?"
