Chapter 40 - Chapter 27: Thrones of Gods & Wolf's Shadow (Heroic Ones of Ragnarok - Part 2)

Azazel's Floating Isle, Neutral Expanse Between Realms

The isle hung suspended in a pocket of eternal twilight, a colossal disk of marble and mythril veined with glowing ley lines, encircled by cascading waterfalls that plunged into an endless void.

Pillars carved with runes from a dozen pantheons rose like sentinels, their caps crowned with orbs of captured starlight.

At the center sprawled the Grand Convocation Hall-a domed amphitheater of white oak and sapphire, seats arranged in concentric rings descending to a central dais where the holographic treaty scrolled like living parchment.

The air hummed with restrained power: the faint crackle of demonic seals, the whisper of angelic choirs, the earthy rumble of Norse thunder, the serpentine hiss of Eastern youki.

This was no mere meeting. This was the forging of history-the first true inter-faction peace conference since the Great War's embers had cooled.

Delegates from every corner of the supernatural world had converged: devils in crimson finery, angels in luminous white, fallen in shadowed leathers, youkai in silk and fur, Olympians in togas of gold thread, Asgardians in fur and rune-etched plate, Hindu devas with elephantine grace, and Egyptian shades murmuring from scarab amulets.

The stakes: a binding alliance against the Khaos Brigade's remnants, shared borders for the Underworld and Heaven, and reparations for God's death-handled delicately, lest old wounds reopen.

At the dais's apex sat the new triad of power: Elysara, the Goddess of Everything, radiant in a gown woven from nebulae-silk that shifted from midnight blue to dawn pink, her raven hair crowned with a halo of orbiting stars, emerald eyes infinite as the void.

Flanking her: Lucifer Morningstar ("Luke"), silver-haired and sharp-suited, his presence a quiet storm of original sin; and Lilith ("Lila"), twin-tailed and smirking in gothic crimson, her aura a playful venom that made lesser devils shiver. Behind them, the Four Great Satans stood as advisors-Sirzechs Gremory (crimson-eyed and composed), Serafall Leviathan (sparkling with magical girl flair), Ajuka Beelzebub (glasses glinting, mind whirring), and Falbium Asmodeus (half-dozing, but alert).

Lower rings held the pantheon heads: Odin, one-eyed and bearded, slouched on a throne of Yggdrasil wood, Gungnir propped like a cane; Zeus, thunderous and imperious in Olympian gold; Indra, storm-wreathed and smirking amid Vedic lotuses; Amaterasu, solar-bright in Shinto silks, fanning herself with a paper crane; and Anubis, jackal-headed and solemn, scales of judgment balanced on his lap.

In the mid-rings, among the Gremory contingent, sat Issei Hyoudou-yukata traded for a tailored black suit with crimson accents, True Excalibur and Dragon Slayer as subtle brooches on his lapel.

Flanking him: his girlfriends, a formidable phalanx that drew envious glances from every delegation.

Rias Gremory, poised and regal in a crimson gown that hugged her curves like a lover's embrace, her hand intertwined with his.

Akeno Himejima, violet kimono whispering thunder, leaning against his shoulder with a secretive smile.

Koneko Toujou, petite in a white dress with neko-ear clips, nibbling a mochi discreetly from her pouch, her tail (visible in this neutral space) curling around his ankle.

Irina Shidou and Xenovia Quarta, side by side in angelic blue and warrior black, wings half-unfurled, sharing a quiet laugh over some shared memory.

Raynare, Kalawarner, and Mittelt lounged with fallen flair-leather and lace, wings draped like capes, exchanging smirks that promised chaos.

Sona Sitri, elegant in navy hakama, tablet in hand, her analytical gaze scanning the room like a chessboard.

Nearby: Kiba Yuuto, sword-polished and smiling, chatting with Saji Genshirou-Sona's Pawn, awkward but earnest in his suit, fidgeting with his tie.

Gasper was absent, tucked away in the estate with a holy blanket fort.

The conference opened with Azazel's gravelly fanfare-a holographic projection of the treaty unfurling like a scroll from Olympus. "Ladies, gentlemen, gods, and things that eat gods," the Fallen Governor began, grinning from his podium.

"We've bled together, schemed together, and occasionally slept together. Time to make it official: the Grand Alliance Accord. No more Great Wars. Shared intel on Khaos Brigade. Open borders for trade-yes, even your cursed sake, Odin."

Murmurs rippled-approval from devils, cautious nods from angels, grumbles from Olympians. Elysara rose first, her voice a symphony of silken eternities, echoing without strain. "Heaven endorses. The system I have mended shall serve all, not one." Her navel pulsed faintly under the gown, a subtle reminder of her boundless source.

Lucifer followed, arm around Lilith's waist. "The Underworld concurs. Under our renewed stewardship-" a nod to the four Satans behind him, who inclined heads graciously "-Hell's forges stand open.

Sirzechs's innovations, Serafall's theatrics, Ajuka's tech, Falbium's... naps. All for the alliance."

Sirzechs smiled warmly. "We rebuild together."

Indra chuckled, lightning crackling in his palm. "The Vedas approve-provided no one touches my thunder."

Zeus boomed, "Olympus seconds-Athena's wisdom, Ares's bloodlust, all in."

Amaterasu fanned slowly. "Shinto joins. Harmony above all."

Anubis's scales tipped neutrally. "The Duat watches. Balance must hold."

Odin slouched deeper, eye twinkling. "Asgard's in. But let's be honest-this lot's got nothing on the boy's got."

He jerked a thumb at Issei, who stiffened. "Look at him! Dragon Emperor, sword-saint, goddess-whisperer. And that harem? Rias the devil princess, Akeno the storm witch, Koneko the cat assassin, Irina and Xenovia the holy terrors, the fallen trio sharper than my ravens, Sona the ice queen... and don't get me started on the upstairs goddess or that fox vixen in Kyoto. Jealous? Aye, lad. My Valkyries are loyal, but they'd trade Niflheim for one night with that lineup!"

Laughter erupted-thunderous from Indra, tinkling from Amaterasu, even a snort from Zeus. Elysara's cheeks flushed cosmic rose, emerald eyes narrowing playfully.

"Allfather, your eye wanders where it shouldn't. As for 'too OP'?" She waved a hand; the treaty's holograph bloomed with a new clause-universal miracle access, no strings.

"Power serves peace. Envy it if you must, but mind your beard-my consort's blade bites deeper than your wolves."

Odin guffawed, slapping his thigh. "Ha! The boy's got a goddess with sass! No wonder you're OP, lass-bedding a dragon does that." Whistles from the Norse delegation; a scandalized gasp from Irina.

Issei sank lower, face tomato-red, girlfriends shifting closer-Rias's grip tightening possessively, Akeno's giggle muffled against his arm, Koneko's tail lashing. Kiba chuckled politely; Saji whispered, "Dude, even gods ship you."

The treaty scrolled on-border accords, Brigade bounties, shared tech. Azazel droned through clauses, delegates nodding.

Tension eased; sake flowed from Serafall's conjured fountains. Whispers of future: joint hunts for Cao Cao, Ophis's safe return, Elysara's heavenly reforms under Lucifer's infernal oversight.

Completion neared. Azazel raised his glass. "To the alliance-may it last longer than my last marriage!"

Cheers rose, holographic quills poised to sign.

Then the sky cracked.

A rift tore open above the dais-jagged black lightning, reeking of chaos and frost. From it tumbled Loki: green-eyed trickster in emerald robes, hair wild as storm winds, grin feral as a blade.

At his heels: Fenrir, the apocalypse wolf-massive as a house, fur black as void, chains of myth rattling, jaws dripping ichor that sizzled stone.

"Ragnarok calls!" Loki bellowed, spear of ice manifesting. "Your 'peace' is chains! I shatter them!"

Fenrir lunged-eyes glowing red, breath freezing air to shards.

Delegates scattered: Indra's lightning clashed with Loki's ice, Zeus hurled thunderbolts, Amaterasu's solar flare met wolf's howl in a blast that shook the isle.

Elysara rose, navel vortex spinning-reality warped, chains of creation snaring Fenrir mid-leap. Lucifer and Lilith flanked her, hellfire and void tendrils lashing out. The Four Satans mobilized: Sirzechs's crimson blasts, Serafall's magical girl beams, Ajuka's barriers, Falbium's lazy summons of golem armies.

Issei surged forward, Excalibur unfolding, girlfriends at his back-Rias's Power of Destruction, Akeno's lightning, Koneko's senjutsu punches, Irina and Xenovia's holy blades, the fallen trio's spears, Sona's water chains. Kiba's sword birth, Saji's absorption.

Odin cackled, Gungnir flashing. "Finally! Something fun!"

The isle trembled. Fenrir's roar cracked pillars. Loki's laughter echoed as ice spears rained.

The alliance's first test: survival.
