Chapter 1 - the journey

Once upon a time, a boy was drowning. He was drowning very deeply in the sea. He couldn't really do anything and was feeling very helpless.

Out of nowhere, a crow came. That crow saved him. The crow could make itself bigger, so it helped the boy. The boy was taken out from the sea.

After that, the boy was crying and laughing.

"Who are you?" the boy asked.

The crow said, "I am someone who finds you here."

The boy got calm, and then panic came. He didn't have any relatives, since everyone had passed away, including his parents. When the boy was born, his parents were dead.

So he looked everywhere and said, "Maybe God really sent this."

The crow rescued him, maybe. Then the crow asked him, "Tell me, who are you?"

The boy panicked.

"Why are you alone here?" the crow asked.

"I don't know," the boy said. "Somehow I got here. I don't remember."

"I don't have any memories," he said. "I just remember being born. I know they are dead. That's all I can say."

Out of nowhere, the boy asked the crow, "Tell me, what's your name?"

The crow said, "My name is Arthur."

"I don't have a name, but they say Arthur," the boy said. "Oh… so can I call you Arthur then?" the crow said.

The crow had no expression on his face.

"I don't know. Just follow me," the crow said. "I don't really want any human to die in front of my eyes."

The boy was feeling very good after talking with the crow.

"Mr. Crow, you can call me Arthur," the boy said. "This will be the second time that you—"

"Why are you repeating your name like that?" the crow said. "Names work differently with humans. They are adults most of the time, but they don't want to guide a child."

The boy said, "You are very funny."

The crow looked at him and said, "You think so?"

"You stay here. I will be looking for some food," the crow said.

The boy replied, "Yes, I would. Thank you."

The crow flew away to search for food for him. The boy was the first one he saved, but he did not know why he saved him. Still, he was sure about what he was feeling and what he was doing.

After some hours, the crow found some food. In a village, he stole it and then held a roast fish in his mouth. He flew very high and reached an island where the boy was sitting.

He gave the food to the boy. The boy ate it, but he forgot to say thanks.

Even so, the crow was feeling very shameless, because it was the first time he forgot his own name.

After some time, the boy said, "What happened? I can see that you are also hungry."

The crow said it could not bring another one, because it would have to use its power, and then it wouldn't be able to fly much.

The boy divided the fish and gave half of it to the crow. It was not equal, but the crow took the fish and ate it.

"Hey, do you know how you can get home?" the crow asked.

"I don't know. I just find myself here," the boy said.

The crow was silent and then said, "I know a very big pond. It is really close to you."

The boy said, "Oh! I would like to go there."

"What about this place?" the crow asked.

"Let's talk about that tomorrow," the boy said.

That night, the boy was sleeping. The next day, the boy saw the sky, and the crow was flying. The crow said to the boy, "Hey, listen."

"How about you help me cut these branches of trees in the sea?" the crow said. "It was small at least, but longer than before."

Arthur was talking about height.
