Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Orario Adventurers’ ‘Five Insurances and One Fund’

"Orario has been established for so many years, and now it's facing another huge change."

Loki said, then drained the tea in front of her.

Seeing this, Chen Hai also took a sip, finding it rather bitter, not as good as the juice from the 'Abyss Floor'.

"Mr. Chen Hai, as the 'Dungeon Lord', you've come directly this time, not as an 'enemy' to talk, have you?"

Hestia was a little uneasy.

She had originally wanted to help Chen Hai, but now realized she had overestimated herself.

On one side was the Dungeon Lord, and on the other, the chief god of a zero-member Familia; they were not on the same level.

"If I wanted to invade Orario, I wouldn't be sitting here chatting with you all."

"First, I would gather manpower, train powerful monsters (Heretics), and then launch an attack on the surface."

"Speaking of which… in reality, a single Death Dragon from the Abyss Floor would be enough to destroy Orario."

Chen Hai said consecutively.

He believed the Death Dragon should be on the same level as, or even stronger than, the Black Dragon that was defeated and sealed away.

To put it bluntly, as long as the gods could not intervene, the Dungeon led by Chen Hai still possessed the power to conquer the surface.

But as the system owner, Chen Hai needed to accumulate experience.

Although enslaving the entirety of Orario was an option, Chen Hai found such an approach too extreme and not necessarily efficient.

A qualified ruler knows how to use both the whip and the candy in his hand.

Now the 'whip' was already in place, represented by the countless Adventurers trapped in the Dungeon.

Next was to offer the native residents of Orario some 'candy.' As for how to do that specifically, it would require careful discussion.

After all, Chen Hai was not a demon, but the Dungeon Lord.

"Then I was truly overestimating myself before, to actually invite Chen Hai to join my Familia…"

"Before knowing the truth, everything Miss Hestia did was out of kindness, and I don't see any problem with it."

"So, Chen Hai is really not our enemy?"

"Of course, I am happy to cooperate."

Chen Hai had watched the anime.

In his eyes, this world was an interesting plane, and there was no need to destroy it.

However, Chen Hai was not some pure and innocent newcomer either.

While sipping his tea, he added a sentence:

"For those unwilling to cooperate, I will give them two choices: disappear within the Dungeon, or disappear outside the Dungeon."

"These two choices don't seem to have much difference."

Loki's narrowed eyes slightly opened, and she complained with a wry smile.

Hestia did not agree with this.

"I think what Chen Hai-kun means is 'those who don't listen will be devoured by the Dungeon' and 'choose to forever give up exploring the Dungeon.' One will be killed, and the other can live."

"What if 'disappear' is meant literally?"

"Eh? Eh? Eh?"

Hestia looked at Chen Hai with renewed worry.

He smiled.

"I will show no mercy to my enemies, that is all."

There was no further explanation; it was up to the two chief gods before him to understand.

At this moment, the head of the Adventurers' Guild arrived at the scene.

His name was Loiman Mardil.

A century-old elf who indulged in pleasure.

Loiman Mardil, with his gray hair and hunched back, stood at the door of the lounge. As his gaze met Chen Hai's, he cautiously walked to a window seat and sat down.

"Good evening, Mr. Chen Hai, I am the current administrator of the Adventurers' Guild—Loiman Mardil."

"Since we both know each other's identities, let's get straight to the point. I intend to cooperate with the Adventurers' Guild to rationalize and make more efficient the upcoming exploration of the Dungeon."

This was an unexpected topic.

Loiman initially dismissed the staff's report of 'the Dungeon Lord has come to visit' as a joke.

But after hearing multiple reports confirming that the Dungeon was completely sealed and Adventurers could not freely enter or exit, Loiman finally took it seriously.

If the other party truly was the 'Dungeon Lord,' Loiman had several plans in mind.

One: cooperation, establishing a new system.

Two: assassination, eliminating the unstable factor that the Adventurers' Guild could not control.

After finalizing his plan, Loiman intended to have a serious discussion.

Chen Hai did not know the other party's thoughts, but he understood their respective positions.

When an enemy's BOSS came to him, it was certainly impossible to greet him with a smile and cooperate obediently.

However, Chen Hai didn't really care whether Loiman agreed or not.

He disliked this guy to begin with.

"Mr. Chen Hai, forgive my frankness, but can the act of sealing the Dungeon be considered a show of force to us?"

"It depends on how you interpret it. It is both a show of force and the capital that allows you and me to sit here and negotiate, isn't it? I believe you couldn't have initially treated me as the true 'Dungeon Lord.'"

For three thousand years, people and the Dungeon had established a very complex relationship.

Some worried about the Dungeon once again unleashing a destructive wave of monster invasions on the surface.

Adventurers, on the other hand, hoped to grow stronger in the Dungeon, following in the footsteps of ancient heroes.

But no matter the situation, it could not negate the importance of the 'Dungeon' in Orario, and even the entire is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon? plane.

"I understand, Mr. Chen Hai. What are your demands? In what areas do you plan to cooperate?"

"It's simple. I need the Adventurers' Guild to implement more appropriate 'restrictions' on Adventurers. Adventurers of different levels can only operate on fixed floors, and their time must be regulated to ensure three shifts."

"Uh… do you mean for Adventurers to explore the Dungeon non-stop through shift changes?"

"That's right."

If there were no shifts and Adventurers died from exhaustion, Chen Hai's experience would decrease.

But with shifts, it was different.

It could ensure efficiency and prevent Adventurers from overworking.

After all, this world was not as cutthroat as the one Chen Hai originally lived in.

If you don't do it, there are plenty of others who will?

No, no, no.

The number of Adventurers was limited.

High-level elite Adventurers were even rarer.

They were all the chosen workers Chen Hai had his eye on.

"Adventurers are inherently free beings. The Guild merely provides them with a platform to turn their strength into wealth. Mr. Chen Hai's new arrangements will undoubtedly impose great restrictions on them."

"Also, Adventurers entering the Dungeon will no longer be seen by monsters as beings that must be killed."

"Oh?"

Does that mean they won't die?

Not just Loiman, but Loki and Hestia were both surprised.

Chen Hai's arrangement was, as he said before, to have as many employees as possible.

As long as they weren't killed, it was fine.

"In this situation, they can fight monsters, explore the Dungeon for rare ores, grow stronger, and earn money—killing several birds with one stone. If they do get injured, there will also be rewards."

This… was the 'five insurances and one housing fund' for Orario's Adventurers.
