After circulating his mana through his body for some time, Harold finally opened his eyes. The first thing he noticed was the quiet warmth spreading through his meridians.
The sharp discomfort that had been lingering deep inside his body was gone, replaced by a strange looseness that made every breath feel easier.
When he looked up, he saw Mirella standing beside the bed, her face still carrying the worry she had been unable to hide.
Harold stared at her for a moment before giving a small chuckle. "Good stuff. The injuries are completely cured."
Mirella did not respond immediately. She studied his face, then his posture, and finally his hands, as though she were looking for some hidden sign that he was pretending to be fine.
Only after she was satisfied did her shoulders finally loosen.
She had been trying to remain calm since Harold returned, but the thought of his damaged meridians had been sitting heavily in her mind. "Are you really fine? Your meridians were injured."
