Siya turned and began walking away.
She had taken only a few steps when she suddenly felt someone hold her hand from behind.
She stopped.
Slowly, she looked down at her hand before turning her head.
It was Trikala.
His face was calm, almost expressionless, yet his eyes concealed countless unanswered questions.
He was holding her hand gently, as though he was afraid that if he let go, he might lose the courage to say what had been buried inside him for so long.
Siya looked at him.
"Let go, Trikala."
He didn't respond.
She carefully freed her hand and turned to leave.
But Trikala could no longer contain everything he had been suppressing.
The jealousy.
The confusion.
The fear of losing her.
The feelings he had tried to bury beneath duty and silence.
For a moment, his emotions overwhelmed his judgment, and he stopped her again.
Siya turned sharply.
"What are you doing, Trikala? Stop. Don't forget your boundaries."
Trikala immediately fell silent.
He seemed to realize that he had crossed a line.
The night around them was quiet.
Moonlight spread softly across the ground, while the faint glow of the moon illuminated Siya's face.
For several seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then Trikala finally lowered his gaze.
"Forgive me, Siya."
His voice was exhausted.
"I forgot myself."
He took a slow breath.
"I keep telling myself that I can control what I feel. That I can remain silent. That I can simply stand beside you and protect you."
His voice became quieter.
"But when I see someone else getting closer to you… when I see someone else becoming important to you…"
He paused.
"I don't know how to accept it."
Siya listened without interrupting.
"Especially when I know that person sees you differently."
Trikala looked away.
"I know I have no right to interfere with your choices. I know you are free to decide whom you trust and whom you keep beside you."
His expression hardened with frustration.
"But knowing that doesn't make these feelings disappear."
He closed his eyes for a moment.
"I am tired, Siya."
The words carried no anger now.
Only exhaustion.
Siya was about to respond, but Trikala raised a hand, asking her to remain silent for a moment.
"Just… don't say anything yet."
His voice was barely above a whisper.
"Let me be quiet for a while."
Siya studied him.
There was no arrogance in his expression now.
No trace of the fierce warrior who had once frightened everyone around him.
Only a tired man struggling to understand his own emotions.
Siya's expression softened.
She understood that Trikala was going through something difficult.
But understanding someone's pain did not mean accepting every action caused by it.
She gently moved his hand away and sat down nearby.
Then she gestured for him to sit as well.
Trikala hesitated before finally sitting beside her.
For a while, neither spoke.
The night remained silent.
The distant sounds of the world seemed to fade away.
Eventually, exhaustion overcame Trikala.
He rested his head against Siya's shoulder and fell asleep.
Perhaps, after everything he had endured, it was the first time in a long while that his mind had found even a moment of peace.
Siya looked at him.
His face appeared completely different while he slept.
The tension was gone.
The anger was gone.
Even the secrets seemed to disappear for a moment.
She watched him quietly, as though trying to understand the person hidden beneath all those layers.
Who was Trikala really?
What had happened in his past?
And why did Jate's presence affect him so deeply?
Siya remained lost in those questions.
Yet another thought slowly emerged.
Was her own heart beginning to change?
She immediately pushed the thought away.
She couldn't afford to lose sight of her purpose.
Not now.
Not when the darkness was still approaching.
Not when the fate of the world remained uncertain.
But somewhere inside her, something had shifted.
And she couldn't completely deny it.
---
Far away from them, hidden beyond the reach of the moonlight…
Someone was watching.
A figure stood motionless in the darkness.
Their eyes burned with a fierce, almost ember-like intensity.
Jealousy.
Anger.
And something far more dangerous.
The figure watched Siya and Trikala in silence.
A cold expression slowly appeared on their face.
Whatever they had witnessed had awakened something inside them.
And they were not planning to remain a silent observer for long.
The darkness surrounding the figure seemed to grow deeper.
Someone had seen everything.
And whatever happened next would not remain a secret for long.
