Ellie's POV
It's been a few months since the day Mr. Halls tried to assault me. I have nightmares about his hands on me, the sounds of him undoing his belt and zipper. The implications he was making. I am just so happy that Asher and Alexander found me and saved me before anything happened. I was lucky, but apparently there have been a few victims that weren't.
In all the years Mr. Halls worked in the high school he would target someone, promise them help with college applications or extra credit for his class and force himself on them. No one spoke out because they were afraid no one would believe them. Once word got out that he was arrested and why, more of his victims went to the police station and filed charges, he received 10 years for every victim and unfortunately has the opportunity to get our on parole after 25 years and "good behavior". Its disgusting how the justice system works sometimes. I hope he never gets out. The twins say if he does they will make him pay "their way" and I honestly don't want to know what their way will be because I would never want them to get in trouble with the law for taking matters into their own hands.
Speaking of the twins, their birthday is in a week and I am excited for them to be officially adults. Not that being 18 gives them many privileges and because they stayed back they won't graduate until next year but still 18 is a big deal. Ty, the twins' younger brother, who is only a year younger than me, and their mother Mari are throwing them a surprise party and Mari asked me to help plan it since the boys and I are best friends. I know what their likes and interest are but I am unsure if they would want a big party or for other people from school to attend or not, I told Mari just that. Apparently she said it doesn't matter because where they are from the 18th birthday is always a huge celebration. She compared it to a Sweet 16 in a less religious tradition or like a Quinceanera for girls coming of age or a Bar/Bat mitzvah in how the Jewish community would celebrate coming of age where there would be more cultural or religious significance for the party. It makes sense but I still don't believe the twins would want that but here I am helping their mother and brother finalize things.
They want it to be black tie so my job will be to convince the guys to dress up and then escort them to the venue. It makes me nervous because I honestly suck at lying, maybe I can practice my poker face with Sam and Dean this week. Yeah, it's decided that's what I will do.
I get home after planning and decided I will go find my wolf dogs. I miss them. I still come to help out the sanctuary every day but sometimes I can't find my boys. They have been exploring the lands more and more and even though I know its natural and expected of them it makes me sad sometimes.
I send out my special call in hopes they are close and I can see them and I wait. I call a total of three times to make sure they hear me and wait no longer than 30 minutes. I have learned if I give the call and they don't show after 30 minutes that they must be further away and cannot hear my call. It started about three years ago when they didn't answer the call immediately and I thought something happened but my dad explained that it is common for the wolf dogs, especially the younger ones, to run further into the territory and that sometimes they may seem to be gone but are still on the territory and may take longer to come back to the main area.
Not long after the third call do my boys come barreling at me, knocking me down to the ground and giving me wolfy kisses making me laugh.
"Hello Boys!" I say in my best Crowley impression, I know they won't understand the reference but it makes me laugh everytime I do it.
"I've missed you. Have you been having fun roaming the lands? Catch any good food while you were away?"
They both tilted their heads at me making me giggle as always.
"It's probably good enough for you but I highly doubt I would enjoy your type of meals." I snicker.
"Anyway, I need your help, I have to practice my poker face. Think you can lend a paw?"
Alex's POV
'Man she's cute.' I say through the mindlink.
'Yeah she is, I've missed seeing her so freely open up to us. Too bad she doesn't know she is talking to us us, ya know.' Ash links back.
'Very true, but it's fun listening to her tell stories about our wolf selves to our human selves or vise versa.'
'Yeah, do you think she would be mad if she ever found out the truth?'
'I hope not, but who knows.'
"Okay, Sam and Dean you have to promise you won't say anything," that causes us both to perk our ears up, "Mari really wants this to be a surprise for the twins, which yes I know you haven't met and typically don't like when I bring guys around but I promise if you ever let me introduce yourselves to them you would love them."
'She's not wrong.' Ash Snickers, 'I do love you and myself.'
'Too bad it won't be possible in the sense she thinks.'
"Anyway, we are throwing the twins a surprise black tie party for their birthday," she states making me groan internally. "and my job is to get them there without giving it away. That's where you two come in, I need to practice so I don't give it away…"
'Ha! Called it! I knew Momma couldn't resist tapping into her Luna instinct and throwing us a party for our 18th birthday. It's tradition and even though she can't invite certain packs, you know she will want to.' Ash boasts. We had a bet going to see if Mother would actually throw us a party.
"…So I need to somehow be convincing enough to get the twins to dress up and take me out to a fancy dinner but instead of a dinner it will be a venue for their birthday. What do you say? Help me practice? I will give you the best scratches if you agree!"
Our wolves absolutely love when she gives us scratches and even if they didn't we would let her practice anything on us. It's just funny that she has no clue she gave away the secret surprise. Now we will just have to play along when she does try to convince the human side of us that we had no idea. This should be interesting.
Asher's POV
I love that our Angel talks to our wolves like people and not animals like I have witnessed people do to the wolf dogs and even their own pets. It's always a vocally one sided conversation in her eyes but it makes me love her more. Yes I said love, I know I probably shouldn't because she may not be our fated mate but I have loved her for a long time. I wasn't joking when I told Alex I wanted to take her as a chosen if she wasn't our fated. I know as identical twins we will most likely share a mate, you know being that we are two halves of the same coin and all that. However I know Alex is more adamant on finding our fated for the sake of strength. I know even that doesn't sound great, usually only douche canoes want their fated mate for the strength but the difference between us and them is we would cherish our mate regardless because we know how sacred mates are. We may not love whoever our fated mate is at first if it's not Ellie but the bond would make sure that we would be drawn to them and want to get to know them and eventually with time we would love them.
As we listen to her plan and practice I can't help but admire her. She's delt with a lot the past few months and she's definitely come out stronger. We know she still has nightmares, Alex and I have snuck out and climbed up her balcony and into her room to comfort her. If we ever get our hands on Mr. Halls he will wish he never put his slimey hands on anyone but especially our Angel.
"So do you think I can pull it off? Do you think I can convince the twins to take me out to a fancy dinner even though it will actually be to their birthday party?"
'You can most definitely convince us to take you anywhere Angel.'
