No matter how many times I have passed this road , the scenery never ceased to amuse me the tall trees, the thick white clouds and even the air that forced its way trough the opened windows of the limousine cheered me up when I got bored with my phone. The trip to school wasn't thatlong although it took more than three hours to get ther , but then how can I complain when I had everything that could possibly make a trip comfortable at my disposal. A honk from the car finally distracted me from whatever I was thinking
"Miss Beverly ... we have arrived" Bill said calmly as the gates slowly opened and the car drove in.
ELITE HIGH is one of the largest and prestigious schools in England. The schools architecture itself spoke of how grand the school was and like the name suggests it is a school that was built for children from socially elite and rich backgrounds. Everything about the students echoed royalty and nobility even though if most of them were snooty rich kids. Most of the time other students from unprivileged backgrounds were given scholarships to study here but then for some reason they are always treated as outcasts and people who don't belong . Everybody around just looked so royal and expensive which didn't bother me much cuz that was exactly the kind of world I belonged in. The car slowly pulled up in the driveway in front of my dormitory named the Nightingale Palace was sounded really old fashioned to me by the way. Almost immediately one of the doormen arrived by the car with a wheeled courier to take my things which consisted of lots of suitcases which I wouldn't have brought along if not for mom who later on took charge and supervised the maids in packing my bags . But week maybe I might need all those things anyway . I gave him my room card and told him to drop them inside , I would just unpack them later or maybe hire someone to do it for me.
"Where are you, I just arrived.." I gave Alexa a quick text
"Really, where are you I would be right there..." she replied
"Am infront of the hostel.."
"Give me a minute I will be right there."
Alexa and I had been in the same hostel and next door roomies since our first time in school I guess that is one of the ways by which we became friends in the first place.
"Eeiiii..." Alexa squealed as she gave me a hug
"Here comes the heiress of the Ashton empire"
"Yeah , I guess it's official now huh"i said pulling away
"Am sure everybody kinna knows about it by now too right.." I said
"Yeah, of course they do, somebody posted it on the schools forum.." she said shoving her phone in my face.
Of course I already knew about that and I wasn't happy about it at all. My new status meant a load of responsibility and of course envy from people even though everybody around me is supposed to be rich . It also came with attention from people whose attention I did not give a hoot about. I had just arrived and almost anyone who passed by me either gave me a wave or an awkward smile.
"See who just became the new Miss Porpular.." Alexa said teasingly as I awkwardly waved back at someone ,a student I had never seen before
"Ugh please, they just want a good start so they could bombard me with business proposals ar favours later"
"Mmm yeah that is true.."she said
We were now sitting on one of the stone benches under a huge tree in the schools botanical garden sipping our favourite smoothies which we had earlier gotten from the smoothie stand when we passed by.
"Did we really have to take the helicopter , it's just a party you know.." I shouted over to Alexa trough the noise being made by the helicopter fans
"Umm yeah of course we have to it's a rooftop party for crying out loud and there is no better way to make an entrance to a party like that than wit a gold helicopter.."she said adjusting her headphone"
"Fine whatever "I said with a sigh
I had a tually tried talking her out of it but ther was always no stoping Alexa when she decided to extraverted things. But the problem wasn't the helicopter , i just didn't want any form of attention right now . As we neared the location , the rooftop of the glass tower one of the tallest and most expensive storey building apartments in the city . And the host of the party was the son of the man who owned it and almost every other expensive building in the city , Martin Aldivo son of Mr. Luther Aldivo C.E.O of Aldivo heights . At first I wasn't interested in the party but then Alexa told me that the guy had actually pleaded with her to bring me along when he invited her and now here I was all thanks to my best friend who never took "no" for an answer.
As the helicopter set down gently on the parking sign we could feel all eyes on us and of course hear snapshots being excorted by bright flashes and from the way Alexa smiled at me I could tell this was exactly the kind of attention she wanted.
The two pilots got down and helped us get down from the opposite sides, still most eyes were on us as we both walked elegantly li,e two professional models to the main venue . Honestly the party looked quite impressive, but still had the format of any other rich high school party I have attended ,the massive pool, the lights ,the music and everything else was just similar.
"Alexa over here .." Martin called out from where he stood with his friends chatting with wine glasses in their hands. Alexa and I just walked towards them.
"Hey Martin, how are you doing.." Alexa said giving him you know one of those rich people greeting with a hug and air perks on the cheek which I have always found a bit disturbing, I mean what we're handshakes for. Alexa said hi to all his other friends who were mostly our classmates as well then we all stood there and talked for a while then afterwards we both moved to one of the sofas by the pool and sat down .
Even though there were lots of people , they were not really that much since parties like these were exclusive and came with special invitations which I always get. Plus at the beginning of every semester Martin always organises a party like this for all his friends and classmates who he thought deserved to be there
