The perimeter of the compound had completely collapsed into a nightmare of cosmic gridlines and dark void-flame.
Over on the eastern ridge, Diego and Marcos were fighting for their absolute lives against their own brother. Ayden wasn't just raving anymore; his Infinite Adaptation was compounding exponentially by the second. His pupils had vanished entirely, replaced by twin swirling nebulae of violet and deep-space indigo that radiated an terrifying, crushing density. Every time Diego fired a soul-locked amber arrow, Ayden's galaxy-infused footwork slipped it by a millimeter. Every time Marcos launched his emerald soccer ball with tectonic kinetic weight, Ayden's evolving gravity armor absorbed the impact and redirected the force back tenfold.
"He's adapting way too fast!" Marcos yelled, his Kinetic Vision flashing violent red as he barely volleyed a rabid jab away with his knee. "Every time I hit him, his mass doubles! We're losing our edge!"
Diego pulled back his translucent bowstring, his amber eyes straining through the spatial static. "I can't even lock onto his soul line properly—his trauma energy is scrambling his internal frequency! If we keep playing defense, he's gonna flatten us!"
The Multi-Universal Shield
Meanwhile, in the center of the courtyard, the main battle against Karai was taking every ounce of focus the upper-tier Prodigies possessed.
Above them all, Tae was floating in a state of absolute, god-tier multi-tasking. Down on the ground, Ayden's wild, rabid cosmic punches were generating shockwaves heavy enough to crack reality itself. If left unchecked, a single missed punch from Ayden's current form could literally shatter entire galaxies and collapse surrounding dimensions.
To prevent utter extinction, Tae had expanded his Logos Essence, casting a dense, invisible Protective Divine Aura across every single planet, reality, and infinite multiverse in existence.
Even while maintaining an absolute shield over all of creation to keep Ayden from accidentally destroying the cosmos, Tae was down on the frontlines wielding his Logos Katana, fighting Karai alongside Joseph, Jax, and Ethan.
"Look at you, Director," Karai purred softly, her crimson eyes gleaming as she effortlessly twirled her jet-black scythe. "Holding the weight of infinite multiverses on your shoulders while trying to parry my steel. How noble. How utterly foolish."
Karai's kit was unlike anything they had ever encountered. It wasn't just raw dark energy; she was weaving ancient, primordial magic from multiverses long since devoured—magic that bypassed modern logical physics.
Joseph activated his Ocular Logic Grid, trying to predict her spatial trajectory, but Karai shifted into a ethereal specter form, completely nullifying Joseph's logic locks.
SLASH.
In a fraction of a millisecond, Karai blitzed through their defense. Her dark scythe swung in a lethal, dual-arc motion, stabbing both Tae and Joseph clean through their torsos! The ancient void-blade bit deep, attempting to rot their souls from the inside out.
"Tae! Joseph!" Jax roared, his solar aura flaring to blinding white heat.
Neither of them even flinched. Tae's eyes burned golden, and Joseph's grey lenses flickered with cold resolution. Exercising sheer, unyielding willpower, they powered right through the pain.
Tae triggered his Divine Buddha Regeneration, the golden lotus aura instant-stitching his internal organs and purging the void rot. Simultaneously, Joseph deployed a localized Chronological Reversal, instantly rewinding his body's physical status to three seconds prior, closing the massive chest wound in a flash of blue data lines without missing a single beat in his sword combination!
"Stabbing us won't be enough, Karai!" Tae growled, sweeping his Logos Katana in a arc that parried her follow-up strike.
The Tactical Extraction
Far down the mountain trail, Kd finally pulled himself out of the deep crater he had been kicked into. He spat out a drop of crimson blood, wiped his jaw, and flared his Pandemonium Wings. With a deafening sonic boom, he launched himself back toward the compound at Mach 500, his drawn katana trailing dark chaos fire.
Back at the yard, Rashad was watching the two-front war unfold through his tactical HUD. He saw Diego and Marcos stumbling back, completely exhausted, while Ayden's nebula eyes flared with terrifying, unstable power.
Rashad, being the charismatic, sharp-thinking strategist he was, immediately took control of the field.
"Diego! Marcos!" Rashad shouted over the roars of cosmic energy. "Fall back! You guys are running on empty! Go support Tae, Joseph, and the rest against Karai right now! I've got a plan for Ayden!"
Diego and Marcos didn't argue. They trusted Rashad blindly. Marcos flicked his emerald soccer ball up, launching himself toward Karai's flank, while Diego took high ground on the dojo roof, drawing his bow to pin down Karai's movement.
Just as Diego and Marcos cleared out, Kd landed with a thunderous impact right beside Rashad, his cold steel katana glowing bright with dark, icy stars.
"Glad you could make it back to the party, Mr. Demon Realm," Rashad cracked with a quick smirk.
"Shut up, Rashad," Kd grunted, his crimson monarch eyes locking onto the raging Ayden. "What's the play? The speedster's adaptation is out of control."
"Ayden's mana didn't just spike—his old trauma from the factory triggered a complete internal mana take-over," Rashad explained rapidly, his tactical visor highlighting Ayden's chaotic internal energy streams. "His system is flooded with unstable, frantic energy. He's running on pure adrenaline. But my tactical backpack has an unrefined, high-density mana purification core. If we strap it directly to his spine, it will siphon and neutralize his corrupted mana flow instantly!"
"Got it," Kd said, his eyes narrowing. "I'll create the opening."
The Containment of the Beast
"AGHHHHHHH!"
Ayden charged them like a rabid god, his fist carrying the density of a collapsing galaxy.
Kd didn't try to block it head-on this time. He activated his Gaze of the Pandemonium Monarch, distorting the local spatial coordinates around Ayden's feet while simultaneously unleashing a burst of Ethereal Chaos Wind. The sudden vacuum shift pulled Ayden off-balance mid-stride, causing his devastating punch to miss by two inches and shatter a cloud formation overhead.
"NOW, RASHAD!" Kd roared, grabbing Ayden by his shoulders from behind and holding him in a heavy, chaos-enforced lock.
Rashad didn't hesitate. He unbuckled his heavy Tactical Backpack, stepped up behind the thrashing, screaming Ayden, and slammed the harness securely around Ayden's chest and back!
BZZZZZZZZT!
The backpack's purification core ignited instantly. Twin streams of bright, radiant purification energy surged out of the pack, locking onto Ayden's nervous system. The tactical core began violently siphoning off the corrupted, trauma-induced mana flooding Ayden's body, forcing his chaotic energy back down into a stable baseline.
Ayden's rabid screaming slowly faded into heavy, gasping pants. The nebulae in his eyes shattered, returning to their normal, tired pupils.
"Kd... Rashad...?" Ayden slurred out weakly, his mind finally snapping back to reality.
The sheer physical toll of stacking his God of Fighting form, Galaxy form, and Infinite Adaptation—combined with having been up all night training with the rest of the boys—finally caught up to him. His knees buckled completely.
"Gotcha, brother," Rashad said softly, catching Ayden before he hit the dirt and laying him down safely against a stone pillar. "Rest up. You did enough."
The Return of the Walker
With Ayden safely knocked out and contained, Kd and Rashad exchanged a single nod, turning their full attention toward the main battle. They sprinted back to the center of the yard to reinforce Tae, Joseph, Ethan, Jax, Marcos, and Diego.
The entire team was back together, but Karai was still holding the line with arrogant ease.
Her ancient magical barriers deflected Ethan's sub-atomic dark matter, her void-scythe parried Kd's resurrected chaos katana, and her shadowy visual distortions kept Diego's amber arrows from finding a fatal hit. She was utterly loving the spectacle—a deadly, cocky monster reveling in their exhaustion.
"You're all running on fumes!" Karai laughed, her voice echoing with dark magic as she raised her scythe overhead, gathering a massive, reality-erasing sphere of pitch-black void energy. "You trained all night, you fought your own brother, and now you have nothing left to give! This universe is MIN—"
Before she could finish her sentence, the fabric of space behind her was cleanly sliced in half.
A cold, absolute pressure—far more terrifying and ancient than anything Karai possessed—flooded the compound.
Out of the tear in reality stepped a solitary figure wrapped in absolute, incomprehensible presence.
The Walker.
The rest of the Prodigies froze, their eyes widening. We all know how unpredictable the Walker is—a neutral, terrifying force of nature who moves according to his own mysterious agenda. But to everyone's absolute shock... he didn't attack the Prodigies.
The Walker slowly raised a single finger, pointing it directly at Karai's back.
BOOM!
A beam of pure, primordial void-annihilation shot from the Walker's hand, obliterating Karai's void sphere before it could detonate! The impact hit Karai square in the back, sending her skidding across the yard, her arrogant smile finally faltering as blood trickled from the corner of her lips.
"You..." Karai hissed, turning her crimson eyes to glare at the Walker. "You dare interfere with my harvest?!"
The Walker said nothing, his glowing eyes fixed on her with absolute, silent judgment as he stepped up alongside Tae, Kd, and Joseph, casually joining their line.
Even facing the combined, united force of the fully unlocked Prodigies and the unexpected intervention of the Walker, Karai did not back down. Her pride was too immense, her dark magic too deep.
She twirled her massive scythe, her crimson eyes burning with absolute, lethal malice as she unleashed a final wave of spatial darkness, creating a blinding, impenetrable smoke screen that enveloped the entire courtyard.
Through the dense, swirling shadow, her musical, chilling voice echoed from every direction, lingering in the air long after the dark miasma began to dissipate:
"Enjoy your brief reprieve, Director... Enjoy your little sanctuary while it lasts. I will let you nurse your wounds, clean your yard, and rest your tired bones. But make no mistake... I WILL be back. And when I return, not even the Walker will save this universe from my jaw."
The dark smoke slowly cleared, leaving behind only the cold, silent morning breeze. Karai was completely gone.
The Walker stood silent for a brief moment before turning his back, stepping back through his spatial tear and vanishing into the void without uttering a single word.
The courtyard was reduced to absolute ruin—cratered stone, liquid glass, and shattered pillars.
Tae finally let out a long, heavy breath, his Protective Divine Aura slowly withdrawing from the infinite multiverses as he sheathed his Logos Katana with a soft click. Beside him, Joseph sheathed his blade, Kd let out a quiet sigh while lighting a fresh cigarette, and Rashad walked over to check on the sleeping Ayden.
They were battered, bruised, and thoroughly exhausted—but as Tae looked around at his brothers, seeing their eye powers fading back to normal and their resurrected abilities fully locked in, a quiet, confident smirk returned to his face.
They were ready for whatever came next.
