"What the… what the hell?!"
I was back on top of the wall, as if I never left.
"What does that mean? I don't understand!"

'This is…'
Tears poured from my eyes.
My mind went blank with nothing but pure, perfect hatred.
I clawed at my skull, spitting and cursing.
"… really? So my life, my very existence, is all part of a game? This is sick! Who could be so cruel?! Human life, ANY life, is so precious… To toy with it is abdomidable! Is all my suffering simply for the entertainment of some sadistic being who created this hellhole? Well what about this? I'll beat your sick game! I'll prevail over whatever you throw at me! And when I'm done… when I escape… I'll come for YOU… and I will pour out all my WRATH and PAIN onto you! Do you hear me?! I will force the HELL you gave me down your THROAT!"
I weeped, wailed, and gnashed my teeth.
'I cant die!
I won't let you win!
This is my life!
And I won't let you take it from me!'
Rage filling my eyes, my vision blurry, I ran across the top of the wall.
"Hey there stranger, nice to see you again~"
[you have taken "sharp stone" from your inventory.]
[an enemy is nearby, use guided act "stab"?]
"No"
[are you sure? Guided acts will amplify your attack stre-]
"No"
SLASH!
I sliced through the stranger's throat using the sharp rock.
I'm not falling for that again.
I kept running, my rage blinding me from what I had just done.
When I reached the stairs, i started climbing down.
There were a few steps missing, and some pieces of shattered bone on the steps directly under.
"You! YOU!"
I heard a furious, thunderous voice from above.
Suddenly, the stairs rattled and shook.
Someone strong was coming for me.
I snapped out of my anger, and realized what I really had done.
And that there would be consequences for it.
I quickly scrambled down the stairs, like a baby lizard running from a predator.
The adrenaline fueled me, and I kept running.
The rumbling in the stairs grew louder and stronger.
They were getting closer.
Run! Run! Run!
"Don't even try! I'm faster, stronger, smarter, and bigger than you! You can do nothing to escape me!"
Suddenly, my foot slipped, and I fell down the stairs.
My leg snapped, and I howled in pain.
I kept crawling down the stairs, but my hope of survival was fleeting.
'I guess this is the end… again…'
The thumping in the stairs, and my chest, grew louder, like a timer that would end with my death.
Tears fell from my eyes, and soon, a familiar face was looking down at me.
Their usual bravado was gone, just like when they killed me before.
Their eyes were filled with pure, perfect hatred.
But there was something else…
Something vulnerable.
Like a child left in a dark closet.
Yearning for someone, anyone, to stay with them.
"Why? Why do you hate me? Why do you keep running away? Please, don't go… I need you here with me…"
Their fury faded, and they began to cry…
"Just… go. But please… please come back for me, some day…"
I was confused, but I nodded.
I quickly scrambled to my feet, but fell over.
"Oh! Uh… I have something…"
The stranger pulled a bandage out of thin air, and wrapped it around my broken leg.
Instantly the pain went away, and my leg was healed.
I was astonished, but I didn't ask questions.
I had to take advantage of this chance.
I quickly ran down the stairs, as fast as I possibly could.
At the bottom was a crimson dessert, and the mountain was directly in front of me.
I needed to follow the moon's eye, and get to the top of that mountain.
'That must be the way to escape… I can feel it in my bones'
I hadn't looked back, mainly because I knew they would be right where I left them.
Watching me.
