Chapter 311 - Chapter 311: Some Off-Topic Remarks

Thanks to Yago's timely decision, this operation did not go wrong.

"Ah, ah, little Yago, long time no see. You've grown so much?" In a secluded guest room, Yago met the current commander of the Survey Corps, Hange.

In response to Hange's greeting, Yago smiled as well.

"Long time no see, Hange, Commander."

After many years apart, a round of pleasantries was inevitable. Perhaps because she had become the commander, Hange was now much more composed than before, gradually carrying that same commanding presence Erwin once had—one that could inspire absolute respect from subordinates.

"How is Commander Erwin doing?"

Hange shrugged, pretending to be helpless as she said,

"Ah, he's doing great, of course. Life is easy for him now—he's dumped all the responsibility on me. I don't even have time to study those adorable Titans anymore."

Hange's words amused Yago, and the two laughed together. But laughter aside, the importance of the mission at hand was self-evident.

"Commander Hange, I'm counting on you." Not long after, Yago said seriously before parting.

"Don't worry."

...

"T-Two… two heroines, could you maybe not point guns at me? I—I'm scared." Bagge said timidly.

Annie sat to the side with her arms crossed, too lazy to pay any attention to Bagge at all. Serena frowned and, annoyed, kicked Bagge.

"You're so damn noisy. How can a grown man be more delicate than a woman? Say one more word and I'll dislocate your jaw!"

Hearing that, Bagge immediately shut up. Looking around him, aside from Annie and Serena, there were dozens of burly men gathered here. These were all core elites of the Eldian Revival Army, each personally selected by Serena.

If Bagge didn't behave, there was no need for anything excessive—everyone here could knock him from a ball of flesh into a flattened pancake with just one punch each.

But in the end, Bagge had brought this upon himself. His reassignment to the Marleyan capital was simply too perfect—Colonel in charge of logistics and military supplies. Such a valuable identity couldn't be wasted. So Annie brought him to Serena, because he could be quite useful for their mission.

"Zeke." A Marleyan soldier carrying a rifle passed by Zeke and suddenly whispered his name.

"Oh, Yelena? Long time no see. You've worked hard during this period." Zeke froze for a moment, then carefully examined the somewhat unfamiliar soldier before realizing—it was Yelena in disguise.

"Speaking of which, Yelena, didn't you say Eren would meet me? Why haven't I seen him?" Zeke complained.

"Hasn't Eren Yeager's Founder power been sealed? Even if you met him now, you wouldn't be able to carry out the euthanasia plan, right?" Yelena asked.

Zeke said strangely, "What kind of logic is that? Do I need to complete the plan just to meet Eren? We're brothers. Can't I just want to catch up with my otouto? You don't need a reason to see family, right?"

Yelena: "..."

How could such words come out of Zeke's mouth? It was way too strange. But she still said,

"According to their plan, Eren should appear at tonight's World Assembly. If you want to see him, you can go look for him."

Zeke's eyes lit up.

"Really? That's great."

...

After a round of preparations, as night slowly fell, representatives from various nations began entering the carefully constructed venue in Marley. Numerous fully armed guards also began securing the perimeter.

In addition to the delegates, the Marleyan military high command led by General Calvi, noble representatives, and various wealthy merchants were also invited.

Although the meeting was held in the Liberio internment zone where Eldians were gathered, the only Eldians attending in the end were honorary Marleyans wearing red armbands and the Titan warriors.

Ebson was also among the Marleyan nobles. Without a hint of concern, he strolled toward the stands, even chatting and laughing with the surrounding nobles, showing no signs of caution at all.

On the officers' platform, Magath stood with his arms crossed, watching Ebson take his seat. Then he stood up, didn't greet anyone, and left the platform alone.

As people gradually filled the venue, the meeting was about to begin.

On the stands, Zofia held onto her parents and seriously instructed them,

"Dad, Mom, please remember what I said. After the meeting starts, leave as quickly as possible. And remind Udo, Falco, and… and Gabi's families too. Please!"

Zofia's parents were confused and couldn't understand what had gotten into their daughter. But after she clung to them all night yesterday, they had no choice but to agree.

In any case, it didn't matter much. As so-called Eldians, they were just there to go through the motions. Marley had even warned them beforehand not to cause trouble during the meeting. Since that was the case, they might as well agree to leave early. As for informing the families of the other Marleyan candidate children, that wasn't a big deal either—they probably weren't interested in this meeting anyway.

Only after receiving a definite answer from her parents did Zofia leave with peace of mind.

"Reiner, Porco, and Pieck, I hope you remember every bit of what comes next." Zeke gathered the Warrior Unit and relayed Commander Magath's orders.

Reiner and the others were shocked.

"War Chief? What do you mean? Are we going to attack Airi and the others? But why? Aren't they also Marley's warriors?"

Zeke didn't answer. Behind his glasses, his eyes were devoid of emotion as he coldly said,

"This is an order. Remember, Marleyan warriors do not disobey orders. As for why—you'll understand soon enough."

Pieck said nothing, secretly glancing at Zeke, her thoughts unreadable.

Porco and Reiner, though confused, still accepted the order and left with heavy hearts.

After watching them all leave, Zeke curled his lips into a smile and looked toward a certain direction in the venue.

"Eren, we can finally meet and talk. My dear brother… I am here."
