Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – The Sinclair Brothers

Chapter 2 – The Sinclair Brothers

"Kill him."

Elias ended the call walking inside the café again. His eyes twitched in annoyance, noticing his espresso getting cold because of his 15 minutes call outside.

He didn't bother hiding his irritation when he ordered another.

His eyes landed on the documents and a sticky note on them. Someone touched his things. His jaw ticked. He picked up the sticky note and read the words. For a fraction of a second—barely noticeable—his expression shifted.

Is this a fucking trick?

Giving the benefit of the doubt, he speculated once again. Who would write these pointers? He scanned the café, senses sharpening. No one was watching him. No laughter. No sudden movement. Just customers minding their own business.

"Did you see who was at my table?" Elias asked the barista.

The young man stiffened under his gaze. "N-no, sir."

Elias didn't press. He took his documents, slipped on his sunglasses, and walked out. The barista exhaled only after the door shut behind him.

Elias's 6'2 height and the white scar on his right eyebrow making him appear scarier. Not to mention the deathly aura around him.

Outside, Elias dialed a number.

*ring* *ring*

"Raj," he flatly said. "Yes, bossm" Raj replied. "Check Bridge. Quietly. I want to know if they're bleeding and hiding it. Stock manipulation, false projections—everything."

A pause. "Understood."

"And Raj," Elias added, grip tightening on the phone. "If you need to dig where sunlight doesn't reach, do it."

The call ended.

Elias hated being used.

He was the one who enjoyed using others.

Elias didn't trust anonymous warnings. In his world, information was currency—and lies were common.Still, he wouldn't ignore it either.

He would confirm it. Then decide.

---

The Sinclair headquarters fell silent as Elias entered. Employees greeted him politely, quickly stepping aside.

"Who pissed in your coffee," Jasper looked at the signature scowl on his brother's face.

Elias tossed the sticky note across the table.

"Fucking Bridge," Jasper hissed, reading the content. A knock interrupted them. "Come in," Jasper said.

"Sir, the information you asked me to verify is valid. They are indeed going bankrupt. They just spent a fortune to keep this information from leaking," Raj informed.

Silence.

"Fire the entire team who was working on this project. What the fuck are we paying them for," Elias narrowed his eyes. Raj shivered at the coldness radiating from his boss, nodding as he ran out of the room.

"He sure has guts," Elias leaned back in the chair, running his hands through his hair. His eyes darkened, a violent storm brewing in them. He dared to screw them over. Death was soon going to welcome that bastard.

Jasper exhaled sharply. "They thought they could use us."

Elias didn't respond. His gaze was distant, calculating. "People forget," he said quietly, "that mistakes have consequences."

Jasper smiled thinly. "Let's remind them."

They were known gentlemen and respected in the public. But, they had a notorious reputation in the business world. Known mostly as monsters, devils, beasts, psychos, and much more.

And they were.

Elias and Jasper Sinclair- the co-owners of multiple co-operations around the world. Multi-billionaires with wealth and power one can't measure. Twenty-eight years of brotherhood that nothing can break apart. The Sinclair brothers were at the pinnacle of the world looking down on others.

Elias being 6'2 a scar on his left eyebrow. Jasper being 6'1 with no flaws. Both of the brothers have beautiful raven eyes, sharp chiseled jaw, and jet black shiny hair. Working out for years, both the brothers had well-defined not too buff neither too lean bodies.

Both men and women lusted and hoped to be like them or be with them.

Cold, ruthless Elias, and narcissistic, cunning Jasper together were dominating the world. They were the gentleman and most eligible bachelors in public, but very few knew what was behind that kind of mask. The immoral activities they carried without batting an eye.

Killing humans like ants was not a new thing to them. The blood of their enemies mars their souls. Innocent or not.

A harmless smile hiding the heartlessness they bore. Their eyes were so cold it could freeze someone with a look.

Commoners looked up to them as ideals, but their rivals knew they were wolves in sheep's clothing. Their schemes are like a predator hunting for his prey.

They were snakes. Poisonous and cold-blooded. Vicious and cunning.

---

Felix Bridge was tied to a metal pole.

Someone picked up a glass of water and splashed it over his face. His vision swam. Concrete floor. Harsh light. Chains biting into his wrists.

The walls were painted with the dried blood of the previous sufferers. No windows, just a plain metal door. A wooden table, placed beside the cold wall. Multiple torture devices are arranged on it.

Two men stood in front of him.

"You got some guts Bridge," an icy voice sneered. Felix blinked his eyes, trying to think what the hell was going on. His eyes wide opened when he felt excruciating pain in his shoulder.

Jasper threw a dart on his shoulder. "Oops, I was aiming for the left shoulder, and it landed on the right," he clicked his tongue.

Elias picked up another dart, throwing it on his left shoulder. "There you go," Elias lazily spoke. Jasper smiled at him. His brother was lovely.

A scream broke through Felix's throat as reality slapped him hard. "M-Mr. Sinclair," he looked at them horrified.

"Who do you think we are, Bridge?'', Jasper asked with a cynical smile, another dart twirling in his long and calloused fingers. Felix gulped his eyes on the darts that were placed on the table in front of him.

"I asked you a question. I hate repeating," his voice this time came colder than before. A wicked tone laced in it. Felix shuddered.

Before he could reply, another dart stabbed his chest. "Every ten seconds you take to answer you get another dart," Elias replied, picking up another dart. Another scream from Felix was earned.

"You are the aces of the business world," Felix replied with a clenched jaw. Trying to bite back all the screams of pain. He knew who they were yet he was stupid enough to cross them.

It was his utter imprudence that led him to such a pitiful state.

"Yet you decided to make a fool out of us. Covering the fact you wanted to use us to boost your stock price and get new customers," Jasper growled at him. "Luckily, we got a hint before it happened," he hissed at the tied man.

Jasper made a mental note to find the person who left the note and recruit them.

"I was desperate to save my company," he sobbed. He needed money. Without this scheme, he would have lost 40 years of hard-earned work. The entire company would be at loss, and hundreds of employees would lose their job.

"Please, please let me go," he begged them.

"Aww, now what are you going to add? I have a family, a pregnant wife, and children waiting for me. Please let me go and I will never cross you," Jasper mocked.

"Please don't hurt my family," he pleaded. "Now thinking about it. I think we should pay a visit to your family," Jasper grinned. "I don't have time," Elias grunted in disapproval. "Oh come on brother, don't be such a bore," Jasper asked. "Enough," Elias said.

"Okay, okay. I will let Edward handle his family. Umm.. What should I do? Kill them, sell them, burn them," Jasper contemplated their options. Felix looked at the brothers in fear. How easily they were talking about such outrageous things just like talking about the weather.

"You should have thought this before acting," Jasper laughed. Throwing a dart that landed on his ribs. Elias didn't bother speaking, picking up a few darts he aimed at his abdomen, knees, hips, and balls.

Felix screamed and groaned in agony. Not able to move chains binding him to a metal pole, making him live every single second of the pain.

"I am bored," Elias yawned, grabbing an ax.

Felix screamed at him, this time not caring about anything. The fact he was carrying an ax and moving fucking towards him made him piss in his pants.

Felix yelled profanities at them.

"Tsk, tsk, wrong choice of words. You should beg your captors and not yell at them," Jasper chided him lightly. Horror struck Felix and he started begging them.

"I am sorry, I am sorry. P-Please, Mr. Sinclair," he sobbed repeating sorry multiple times. Elias rolled his eyes. He had enough of his bullshit and cut off his left arm in a swift motion.

"He is soon going to die of blood loss," Jasper felt sad. He wanted to enjoy playing with him more.

Elias didn't bother about his brother's whines or Felix's screams; using the ax he continued chopping his other hand and both the legs like he was chopping a piece of wood.

"Take care of the rest," Elias grunted, leaving with his bloody self.

Edward, one of their bodyguards nodded. Working for the Sinclair's for ten years, he has gotten used to such disturbing scenes. It was nothing new.

---

Elias washed himself up with a towel in hand and rubbed it over his wet hair. Droplets of water falling from his messy hair. He walked to the kitchen counter, picking up an apple.

"I had Raj trace the note," Jasper said. "No luck yet."

Elias nodded. It would be profitable for their company to find such a competent person. Whoever left it was sharp. Careful.

Jasper smiled at the thought. His brother sure has the luck to come across such a person. He didn't know why something in him was eager to meet that person. The smiley face left on the note was cute.

"If they'd warned our competitors instead," Jasper mused, "we'd be exposed."

Elias's eyes darkened.

"Then we'd remove them."

Silence stretched between them.

"Or," Jasper added thoughtfully, "we recruit them."

Elias said nothing but his mind was already working.

Somewhere out there was someone bold enough to interfere.

And smart enough to get away.

For now.

Little did they know what was coming for them next and how that person was going to change their life... forever.
