Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Truth or Dare

When Lancelot returned to the South Mountain Nursing Home to find the old man who had given him the statue, he was told the man had passed away and his body had been cremated.

However, before he died, he had said his belongings could be given to Lancelot.

Lancelot brought the belongings back to the Red Keep.

Among them was a map: a star chart.

On the chart was a phrase: When the stars align, the Seven shall descend.

"Does this mean that when the stars align, Cthulhu and his kin, slumbering in R'lyeh deep beneath the ocean, will awaken? Are they the true forms of the Seven?" Lancelot formed a bold hypothesis.

"If they truly awaken, it would be a disaster for the world! How can I stop them?" Lancelot pondered.

In the end, Lancelot decided to "fight fire with fire," or rather, "fight gods with gods."

Lancelot paused his alchemy and instead collected a large amount of silver, casting it into a massive cross.

Then, he hollowed out the cores of two logs and encased the silver cross within the wood.

Lancelot placed this silver cross at the site where he had buried the statue of the Seven.

"To Jehovah, Cthulhu should be a false god. I hope the two will fight, and the power of the cross can suppress Cthulhu's awakening," Lancelot said.

Later, feeling this wasn't secure enough, Lancelot mobilized significant manpower and resources to build a monastery on the ground where the statue of the Seven was buried.

However, this monastery did not enshrine the Seven, but Jesus.

"Are you creating a new religious system?" Melisandre asked curiously, watching Lancelot direct the construction workers.

"Is there a problem?" Lancelot asked.

"I just think you're doing it too late. If you had been born thousands of years ago and pulled this stunt, perhaps you could have truly started a new religion."

"But now, the faith in Westeros is already divided enough. The Seven, the Old Gods, the Drowned God, and others! They won't allow you to steal their believers."

"You don't know the power of Christianity. It will gradually encroach upon the faith of the Seven," Lancelot said.

Over the next few months, Lancelot oversaw the construction of the monastery while continuing his alchemy.

He also sold several Valyrian steel swords.

Edmure Tully of Riverrun bought one, the Freys of the Crossing bought one, and Lord Beric Dondarrion of the Dornish Marches bought one. Roose Bolton of the Dreadfort bought one, as did Lord Manderly of White Harbor.

Lord Redwyne of the Arbor bought one, Lord Balon Greyjoy of the Iron Islands bought one, and even King Robert bought a Valyrian steel warhammer from Lancelot on credit.

Lancelot converted his earnings into silver, then transmuted it into gold, making a sudden fortune.

After the monastery was built, Lancelot invited some residents from the South Mountain Nursing Home to live there, as the place needed people to maintain it.

The High Sparrow became the first abbot. He announced to others that Lancelot was a prophet, a Son of God, a messiah, possessing the thoughts of a saint.

For a time, Lancelot became a hot topic of discussion among the common folk of King's Landing and the surrounding Crownlands.

His Popularity Points skyrocketed.

Also during these few months, Willas Tyrell of House Tyrell stood up on his own; he could finally walk on his own two feet again.

The entire House of Roses was overjoyed. They invited guests to celebrate, and Lancelot was among them.

That evening, Lancelot rode his bicycle, once again taking Myrcella with him to the Tyrell residence.

They received the grandest welcome.

"Ser Lancelot, I am so glad you could come!" Margaery said happily upon seeing Lancelot. She excitedly led him inside.

"Congratulations on your brother's recovery! I hope he marries soon and has many children to continue the Tyrell bloodline," Lancelot said.

"Thank you!" she responded with a smile.

At the banquet, once the dancing began, Lancelot danced with seven or eight different noble ladies in succession.

Then he found an opportunity to slip out and take a break.

As Lancelot walked under the shade of a tree to relieve himself, he overheard a conversation between two Kingsguard.

"The Great Council is about to end. The King and the lords have reached an agreement. We are going to send troops beyond the Wall."

"Yes, I want to stain my sword with some wildling blood too!"

"Wildlings are one thing, but for White Walkers and the like, without Valyrian steel swords, we are no match. Should we ask Lancelot for one on credit?"

"A Lannister always pays his debts! If we buy on credit, I'm afraid we won't be able to pay it back. What then?"

"Then pledge loyalty to House Lannister in secret. Trade loyalty for a sharp sword. How about it?"

"I'll think about it. After all, I still value the reputation of the Kingsguard."

The conversation between the two Kingsguard ended there; they never noticed Lancelot.

"Even the Kingsguard fear the White Walkers, let alone ordinary soldiers. I need to think of a way to boost morale," Lancelot thought.

Returning to the banquet, Lancelot saw Margaery, Sansa, and Myrcella laughing and chatting together.

Several young noblemen were hovering nearby, trying to curry favor.

"Lady Sansa, your red hair is beautiful. You inherited the excellent genes of your mother's House Tully!"

"Princess Myrcella's golden hair is also beautiful, inheriting the charismatic bloodline of the Queen's House Lannister!"

But the girls were uninterested in these flower protectors. Their eyes scanned the room, seemingly looking for someone.

When they all spotted Lancelot, they clicked their high heels and walked over in unison.

"I don't want to dance anymore!" Lancelot said hurriedly. He admitted that when it came to shopping and dancing, he couldn't compete with women.

"Who said anything about dancing? Let's play poker! It's been a while, let me win a round today!" Myrcella said.

Ever since she was introduced to poker, she found gambling could be so interesting.

They went to a quiet room where they wouldn't be disturbed. Margaery dismissed the others and took out a deck of cards with rose patterns on the back.

"Come on! Let's see who the Card Emperor is tonight." She slapped the deck onto the table.

"But today we can't bet money. We have to bet something special," Myrcella said, lowering her gaze.

"Bet what?"

"How about Truth or Dare?" she suggested.

"Sure! Let's do it!" Sansa agreed.

So they began shuffling, dealing, looking at their hands, and playing.

Lancelot had good luck and won two rounds in a row. He learned a secret from both Margaery and Sansa.

Margaery's secret was that her grandmother had once stolen someone else's husband, which was how she became Mace Tyrell's mother.

"The Queen of Thorns truly lives up to her name! What a heroine!" Lancelot exclaimed.

From Sansa, he learned that Catelyn Tully often went out privately to meet Littlefinger without Eddard Stark's knowledge. This was important information for Lancelot.

Perhaps there was some collusion between Littlefinger and Catelyn.
