Eighteen Years Flew By in the Blink of an Eye
At this moment, on the training grounds inside the textile factory, Smith Doyle faced the people before him: Mr. X, Cross, the Butcher, the Mechanic, the Gunsmith, and the Pesticide Master. Surrounded by six opponents, he felt not a shred of fear.
Before today, facing six attackers at once, he would have been powerless. After all, he was once just a well-trained ordinary human. But now, he stood unafraid.
Smith Doyle shaped his hands like claws, lowered his body, and in the next second, sprinted toward the group.
"Langfang Wind Fist!"
Seeing his speed, both Mr. X and Cross were shocked. Instantly, they activated their Bullet Time.
Bullet Time not only enhances shooting precision but also gives a significant advantage in close combat.
"Bang. Bang. Bang."
Yet, in the next moment, all six felt as if a hungry wolf had leapt at them—and they were all sent flying. Even Mr. X and Cross, in Bullet Time, were instantly defeated.
Fox exclaimed in astonishment:
"My God, Smith, you're incredible!"
Wesley beside him also shouted:
"So strong… God really is powerful!"
Looking at the six fallen opponents, Smith smiled:
"Uncles, there's no need to continue this sparring."
The Butcher sat up, checking his bruises. If not for his body fat, he thought his ribs might have broken. Panting, he said:
"Smith, I guess there's no need for further competition.""At least in terms of combat, it's unnecessary."
The others also rose to their feet, raising their hands:
"You win.""We admit, in combat, you are fully worthy of being called a god."
Hearing their words, Smith smiled. His effortless victory over six people was largely thanks to the system successfully loading two days ago.
In fact, Smith Doyle wasn't originally from this universe. His real name was Feng Yi, an ordinary person on Earth. Before crossing over, he had been playing the mobile game Dragon Ball FighterZ. That night, he stayed up late gaming, leaving his phone to charge on his pillow—and for some reason, he suddenly crossed into a world combining Marvel and American comics.
Why Marvel and not the Wanted Universe? Because he had seen Captain America and the Howling Commandoes at a museum, and a giant Stark Industries billboard in Times Square.
However, the story of the Wanted Universe had undergone a dramatic change. The black-clad leader Sloan disappeared, and the "Son of the Cross" never went to live as an ordinary person but remained in the Assassin Brotherhood.
Of course, the Dragon Ball FighterZ game he played before crossing over became his ultimate secret weapon. Unfortunately, before turning 18, the system kept showing "loading," leaving him frustrated. Yet over the years, Assassin Brotherhood training taught him numerous skills.
From the Alchemist, he learned wax-bath crafting. From the Gunsmith, curved-bullet shooting. From the Mechanic, hand-to-hand combat. The Butcher taught him to slice bullets with knives, and he learned to make rodent bombs from pesticides. As for Bullet Time used by Mr. X and Cross, it wasn't due to bloodline—it was learned through training.
In short, the past 18 years had been incredibly fruitful. Wesley and Fox had grown up alongside him as friends.
He also participated in some Assassin Brotherhood missions and even worked as a child laborer for a period.
However, on his 18th birthday, the Golden Finger ability fully awakened, astonishing him. At least during the Shumi Incident, he no longer feared being powerless. The Golden Finger's power differed completely from anything in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Upon entering the interface, all flashy game features disappeared, leaving only three wish functions:
Item Wish Lottery
Character Card Wish Lottery
Companion/Inventory Wish Lottery
Through the system, he learned that these three wish functions required no recharge or summon scrolls. There was only one rule: after the first use, the seven Dragon Balls he was born with would activate. Only when all seven Dragon Balls' wishes were successfully granted could he wish again.
Those seven Dragon Balls had scattered across the world at his birth—he had none in hand.
In simple terms, the Dragon Balls have a one-year cooldown. After a successful wish, the collector can wish again from Shenlong, with up to three limited wishes each time.
The power of Shenlong to grant wishes is linked to Smith's own strength. The stronger he becomes, the stronger Shenlong, and the greater the wishes he can achieve. As his power grows, the Dragon Balls evolve—from Earth Dragon Balls to Namekian Dragon Balls, evil red Dragon Balls, and even universe-spanning Super Dragon Balls.
After learning this, he felt somewhat like a combination of a Dragon Ball creator, a god, and the Elder of Namek. Then, Smith used his three wish draws.
In the system interface, Smith first used the Item Wish Lottery. He saw his avatar below, with a small celestial body above his head containing various items.
Looking closely, he saw: Saiyan single-pilot spaceship, Namekian spaceship, Super Holy Water, Dragon Radar, first-generation battle suit, second-generation battle suit, one space capsule, a crate of capsules, power detectors, gravity chamber, Senzu Beans, and more. Some items were only visible as glowing points.
When Smith chose an item, a Turtle School energy blast was fired at a glowing point above his head, breaking one open.
"Congratulations, Smith Doyle obtained the Battle Power Detector (Second Generation)."
Smith was a little disappointed—it wasn't a Senzu Bean or a battle suit. After all, a Senzu Bean equals a life, and battle suits are much stronger than ordinary bulletproof vests.
Although the Battle Power Detector seemed trivial, it fulfilled a childhood dream.
Next, he used the Character Card Lottery. Looking at the starry points, he saw early Dragon Ball characters: Goku, Krillin (pre-disciple), Bulma, Tien, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Chi-Chi (childhood), Ox-King, Nam, Master Roshi, Launch…
With a Kamehameha blast, the lottery ended.
"Congratulations, Smith Doyle won the character card: Yamcha!"
Yamcha appeared on the card dressed as a bandit, holding a knife—clearly before becoming Master Roshi's disciple.
Skills: Wolf Fang Fist, Wolf Fang Wind Fist.
Using the character card grants Smith Yamcha's lineage and abilities.
The third wish was for Companion Cards, mainly early Dragon Ball characters: Pu'er, Oolong, Turtle, Jin, Upa, Ox-King, Bora, Android 8…
"Come claim your battle partner, Pu'er!"
Pu'er: Blade Attack, assistance of Pu'er.
Checking companions' abilities, he found them identical to Dragon Ball FighterZ. Their advantage: they can be brought directly into the real world. If he could later recruit healing-type companions, it would be perfect.
After Smith Doyle completed his three wish draws, the Dragon Balls worldwide returned to their original forms from stone.
