Chapter 1 - What!

In a liminal space of endless skies whose lands stretched in immeasurable distances, the land rippled like liquid yet appeared as solid.

Amongst the endlessly stretching valleys of this strange space, a tall, mysterious tree rose.

From a distance, it would look like the Tree is at best the same size as an average man— but upon closer inspection one would find oneself completely dwarfed by this mysterious tree.

Its trunk was of a colour blacker than even black, writhing as if it had a will of its own. Its leaves were of brilliant white, fluttering even when there was no wind in the space it resided in.

Amongst each of these gigantic leaves, tiny dots appeared glittering, each being myriads of colours.

Each of these dots were small fruits, shaped with immense variations. Some were shaped like apples, others in odd shapes, some like gourds, and some like tables.

Suddenly, violent ripples appeared in the ground of the enormous strange space.

In just a few meters away from the mysterious tree, a figure appeared.

It was brilliantly white, none of its features being visible, masked by complete white.

It was like a human, taking a slow, deliberate step, each step resounding in the ground of th strange space producing the ripples.

Even though ripples appeared, no sound of any kind of liquid splashing was made.

With each step, it approached the enormous black tree. When the figure was as close to the trunk, it suddenly disappeared.

It appeared amongst the white leaves of the mysterious tree, the figure's whiteness making even the brilliance of the white leaves dull.

The figure, if it had any feature, looked at one of the tiny dots compared to the white leaves.

It approached the closest dot— a tiny fruit of the gigantic tree. The fruit was oddly shaped; like a sword with no handgaurd. Its colour was a mix between black and white, writhing as if each colour wanted to dominate against the other.

The figure touched the fruit, and if it again had any feature; broke a cold smile across its brilliant face.

Then, the figure spoke.

"To think such a perfectly fitted soul would be here…"

Its voice was ethereal, mixed with multitude of different voices; sometimes it sounded like a man, a woman, a child, an old person, and sometimes like an infant. It felt as if this figure has lived countless lives.

"So my visit to this wretched place wasn't in vain!" The figure sounded furious. It clenched the fruit in its brilliant hands, slowly twisting it from one angle to the other, until the fruit was plucked.

"I will be taking this with me!" The figure roared, its voice travelling far and wide. It had such force, that it made countless amounts of the nearby white leaves to flutter wildly, each fruit of the tree following the same. Some even got torn away from the tree.

Suddenly, the black trunk started to move, its bark writhing wildly. The tree started to exert a pressure of its own!

"How daring!" A thunderous, hoarse voice suddenly resounded in the endless space.

Now it came not from the white figure, but from the mysterious tree! The white leaves fluttered wildly as the voice echoed around, making the scene frightening.

"Retribution will come to you if you dare to take that soul away! The Sovereigns of the Seventh Star will not let you go, Annhilation Star!"

The white, brilliant figure laughed hysterically, mocking the words spoken by the mysterious tree.

"Retribution? You think I would care about such a phenomena beneath my existence, World Tree?!"

Suddenly, amongst the hysterical laughter and echoing sounds of fluttering leaves, the white figure waved its left hand making a circular motion.

"Today, my search is complete! What remains is to teach those Seven Bastards about not to take the concept incarnate of annhilation lightly!"

And ina brilliant show of light, the figure disappeared from the strange space, a small white smoke hissing as it dissipated.

The black mysterious tree started to swing wildly, furious sounds could be heard with each swing.

"Uberos!!!!"

In a small, convenience store of America, a figure walked out of the automatically opening doors scratching his head.

The figure looked gloomy, messy black hair paired with green hoodie and black sweatpants. It made him look like a depressed individual.

In his right hand was a plastic bag, labels indicating about which store it belonged to.

"Man, how the hell did two cup noodles cost almost 40 dollars?! Last time I checked, it was like 15 dollars each!" The boy shouted in frustration, clearly expressing the unfairness of inflation.

The boy sighed, looking at the plastic bag for a long time before starting to walk away from the convenience store.

This was Jun. A city boy raised in a very normal family with a very normal history.

In reality his history was far from normal. His parents died when he was just one year old. All of them originally lived in South Korea before the catastrophe.

His father was Japanese, but after he met Jun's mother, who was a South Korean, he left Japan and settled into buisness there.

But… both died in an unforeseen car crash, where after loan sharks snatched up whatever property was left of them and left little Jun to the streets.

Fortunately, his Uncle and Aunt heard of the news, and brought little Jun to America, thereafter he lived his life in solitude.

Suddenly, when Jun was passing by a light post, the lights flickered for a moment.

Jun jolted, but soon gave a big sigh due to the little scare.

Then.

He blinked, and he was no longer under the light post.

"…What?"

He was a bit behind the light post now.

Jun blinked again.

Yet, he was no longer on the sidewalk itself.

He was on the middle of the road now, much farther away from the light post.

'What!'

And right after he said that, he blinked once more— right before he started feeling dizzy.

Jun clenched his head, trying to steady himself for a moment.

But he failed, stumbling and falling onto the road right after which he fell unconscious.

In an endless vast space, floated a white shining sphere.

Occassionally, eyes popped out of the skin of the sphere, the sclera of the eyes beinf black and their irises being white.

It was a bizarre sight, as the sphere floated around occasionally monitoring somewhere with its eyes.

And then, seventeen eyes suddenly popped out of the sphere. They all looked somewhere, some eyes that were facing the opposite directions literally looked inside the sphere, as if it could look beyond its own body.

And in front of one of the eyes— a small dot suddenly appeared, floating, suspended mid-air.

If one could look closer, the figure was humanoid, having a black head, green torso and black legs.

The eyes of the massive sphere quivered, excitement building up in its quivering eyes.

Suddenly, the sphere roared, a strange and alien language being heard in the endless space.

No matter what, no one could ever decipher the alien language, as if it was made for something higher in existence.

But the humanoid figure in "front" of the massive spehre opened its eyes in a daze, yet not a single emotion could be seen in its face.

Even when the sphere roared in its alien language, the message was clearly conveyed.

[I've prepared for hundred thousands of millennia for this moment!]

That was what the humanoid figure floating heard in its head.

[You! My boon! You will become the key to my descent…

[Grow well to become the hollow tree that receives the holy water of annhilation!

[Go, to the world of Three Mountains, Seed of Annhilation!]

And then, the figure went unconscious.

In a state of unconsciousness, Jun suddenly felt something dragging him by his leg, dragging him along the ground accompanied with terrible giggling.

In the next moment, he felt something tie up his mouth, arms and legs— accompanied along with the terrible giggling.

Just a few moments after, he felt a tinge of consciousness coming in, and he slowly opened his eyes in daze.

And then, what he saw froze him.

Short, green humans with extremely pointy and gigantic ears and nose.

Or… they were less like humans, and felt something very familiar with Jun.

'Goblins!'

A series of terrible giggling started from the group of goblins in front of Jun. They were currently facing their backs to him, and in front of them was… Juns's hoodie?

Jun looked at himself after he felt a cold wind pass by, and he realised that…

He was buck naked!

'Wait, that's not the main problem here!'

He looked at the group of goblins again, and he was shocked once more.

He couldn't believe that they looked so lively.

'This… this isn't a dream, is it?!'

Jun observed everything from their eyes to their skin and down to their… terrible looking butts.

'How… how the hell did this happen?!'

At one moment, he was going from a convenience store to his home.

And in the next, he was tied in a cave surrounded by giggling, real goblins, buck naked.

'Damn this all!'

Suddenly, something flickered in front of him.

The air suddenly distorted, and a white screen appeared in front of Jun.

And in the next moment, something popped in the white screen.

[Welcome! To the world of Three Mountains, Annhilator!]
