Hitaru, while they were finishing off the beast, was resting after everything he had been through. His hollow hand, his shoulder still sore from the dislocation, his ribs aching from the Goblin, and now his back and chest injured by the falling branch could take no more.

Can't they let me rest for a moment or what?

I don't think it's necessary to torture me just to make me work.

While thinking that, he remembered the stone that was covering the hole in his hand.

Hmmm… it seems that with this stone I'll be able to know my stats, but I don't see it offering me anything more than that…

The system interrupted him with another panel.

Before Hitaru could ask the system anything, someone interrupted his forced rest.

It was Rimic.

"Get up, kid, we're leaving," he ordered, extending his arm."Hagg…" he groaned as he accepted the help. "Thanks, by the way, let me tell you that you're stronger than you look," he praised while hunching slightly and touching his ribs with his uninjured hand."For you I might be… but not for my village…" he said with his head down, making it clear it wasn't a pleasant topic."Why do you say that?" he asked, confused, while standing and walking with Rimic's help."I haven't told this to many people, but I feel like I can trust you…When I was free, that is, before being captured by the goblins, I had a happy life and family, until they arrived and destroyed everything. They killed everyone and violated all the women they found along the way.My wife included. I couldn't do anything to stop it, and now I'm here fighting boars and being enslaved by the same ones who turned my life into a constant struggle."

Hitaru, still walking, listened to the man's sad story, which left him silent as he imagined what he must be going through. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't. He just kept walking with Rimic's help.

When they reached the beast's corpse, both of them were still silent, especially Hitaru. The old man approached and let Rimic release the kid.

Hitaru barely noticed when he was let go and saw him walk away. He asked the old man quietly about Rimic's life and what he had told him.

The old man burst out laughing and asked if he had really believed that story. He told him it was the story Rimic told all the newcomers.

Hitaru relaxed once the old man explained it was just a joke.

After a few minutes carrying the massive body of the beast and arguing over how much each of them would receive, they arrived at the meeting point as night began to fall.

Hitaru now walked alone as best he could, following the guards who guided them toward the goblin village, where they would divide and distribute the portions.

Once they reached the village, everyone left the beast in the large hut. After passing several improvised goblin tents, they arrived at a plaza where there were weapon stalls and other things.

They dropped the body at the door of the large hut, from which a happy Arendt emerged, congratulating the hooded goblin.

After returning, everyone was sent back to the barracks, where Hitaru met Layla again. She was very worried about him after seeing the state he was in.

"I don't think you can fight again in that condition," she said worried.

"What do you mean fight again?…" he asked confused. "You're joking, right?" he demanded an answer."It's not a joke. Arendt chose you as a gladiator, remember?" she reminded him.

When Hitaru heard that, he remembered it. He remembered when Arendt pointed at him and he was terrified.

"Isn't there any way to avoid it?" he complained as tears began to form in his eyes."There is a way you won't fight today, but…""But what?… tell me already…"
