Dragon studied Marco for a moment, then chose to test him first. His aura flared, and a wild surge of Conqueror's Haki exploded from his body, crashing down over Marco like a storm.

The instant Marco sensed it, he answered with his own will—an even more ferocious Conqueror's Haki that swept out and crushed Dragon's presence in an instant. That legendary pressure roared toward Dragon like a raging tsunami, and for the first time in many years, a chill of dread slid down his spine.

Inazuma dropped where he stood, knocked out cold by the overwhelming Haki. Even Ivankov and Sabo could barely remain standing. Legs trembling, they stared at Marco—the source of that monstrous will—with terror etched on their faces.

Through the suffocating pressure, they could see it now: the Conqueror's Haki surging off Marco's body almost looked solid. That crimson tide of power slammed into them again and again like a real wave, and the impact felt frighteningly physical.

"What kind of Haki is this?!" Sabo spat, face grim.

A bead of sweat, thick as a bean, rolled down Dragon's forehead. He had never faced such terrifying Conqueror's Haki before. With a will this overwhelming, it was impossible to imagine the true extent of Marco's strength. He no longer needed a battle to know—if they fought, he would lose.

As the tsunami of his Haki raged outward, Marco noticed the ground beneath them start to change. Garbage Island, formed from countless compacted layers of trash, began to crack. Fissures opened under the pressure, and seawater burst up through the gaps.

So this island really does have no proper foundation… Marco realized how fragile it was. At once, he reeled his Conqueror's Haki back into himself. The trembling ground stilled, and the red lightning threading through the air vanished. He fixed Dragon with a calm, cool gaze.

"How was that?" he asked.

Dragon stared at Marco as if looking at a monster. His jaw tightened, teeth grinding together. "It seems that an alliance is out of the question."

"Dragon…" Ivankov turned to him, baffled. They had come all this way to secure an alliance with the Three Emperors Alliance, and now, from his tone, it sounded like he was ready to abandon it.

Dragon met Marco's eyes and spoke solemnly. "I apologize. The Revolutionary Army is something I've built up over more than twenty years, so…"

He didn't finish, but Marco understood well enough.

Still unwilling to give up, Vegapunk stepped forward. "Wait! We clearly have a common goal—we can definitely join forces!"

"Yeah, we can join forces," Marco said without hesitation. There was no reason to turn down an alliance with the Revolutionary Army when they still shared the same enemy: the World Government. His expression hardened. "We can't accept a unified command, but having one more ally against the World Government is always better than having one more enemy."

"Wororororo… that's right. Even if we don't get along, as long as we've got a common enemy, we can still work together," Kaido laughed. He and Big Mom had no intention of giving up the Revolutionary Army as a potential ally.

They were pirates, and the other side was the Revolutionary Army. By nature, they were incompatible, and once the World Government fell, they would definitely clash. But as long as the World Government remained the enemy, they could fight side by side. Any future hostility could wait until after the throne was toppled.

Their initial clash had been nothing more than a show of force for the Revolutionary Army. They were pirates—no matter who stood before them, it was only natural to make their strength known first.

Dragon gave a slight nod. He understood perfectly well that Marco and the others had just been putting on a display. But if their side lacked the strength to respond, what else could they do? For now, they could only accept defeat.

Both sides had come to Garbage Island with the same thought in mind: forming an alliance. But beyond that, each camp wanted to seize the initiative and steer the terms. In the end, it was clear the Three Emperors Alliance held the stronger hand.

Kaido slammed his spiked club into the ground and said coldly, "Linlin already said it: the most important power in this world isn't the power of the common rabble. It's the power at the very top. Even if the Revolutionary Army topples every member nation under the World Government, it won't change much. As long as the God's Knights, the Gorosei, and that Imu are still around, it doesn't matter how many countries you overthrow—nothing really changes. Those guys are the real monsters."

Dragon's brow creased. He understood it as clearly as anyone: in this clash between the Revolutionary Army and the alliance of the Three Emperors, they had lost. Even so, his mind was already moving past the battle. What interested him more were the God's Knights, the Gorosei, and Imu.

"To be called 'monsters' by all of you," Dragon asked, his voice low, "what kind of power do they possess?"

Marco, Kaido, and Big Mom exchanged looks before Marco stepped forward. "Since we're allies now, I'll tell you," he said, then added, "but first I need to correct something: when you're up against the Gorosei and the God's Knights, numbers don't mean much."

"First, the God's Knights," Marco went on. "We don't know their exact number, but more than a dozen have already appeared. Every single one of them is on par with a pirate worth at least a billion in bounty—and they possess immortality."

"Immortality?" The word rippled through the Revolutionary Army, leaving them stunned.

Marco nodded. "That immortality is exactly what it sounds like. However, there are ways to break it. We'll talk about that later."

Everyone from the Revolutionary Army leaned in, listening without a sound. Marco continued, "Next are the Gorosei. They're immortal as well, and their abilities are… unusual. Even Sea Stone bullets don't work on them. It's like they can nullify Sea Stone itself."

"Under normal circumstances, each of the Gorosei is no weaker than an Admiral. But they also have a special serum in their hands called 'God's blood.' Once they use it, their strength skyrockets to a level far beyond an Admiral's. In that state, even the normal Yonko-level fighters would struggle to take them on."

A sharp intake of breath swept through the Revolutionary Army at that revelation. Marco let their shock settle for a moment, then spoke again.

"Lastly, there's Imu. He's a Celestial Dragon who has lived for eight hundred years—the true king of this world. On Egghead Island, I only faced a clone of Imu. But even that clone was stronger than a Gorosei who had already taken the 'God's blood.'"
