Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

It's been two weeks since Nevo tried to end me. Such encounters don't phase me anymore. Everyone in the kingdom thinks I'm weird and undeserving of my life. Maybe because I was born with skin markings that have never been seen in this kingdom (at least that's what I was told). Honestly, I don't think I have met anyone with them either. I've seen beast markings, blades, ice, fire and diffferent creatures. But I have never seen mine on anyone else. Flowers. The skin markings embedded on my skin are flowers. With emotions, they illuminate a white color. All over my back and arms. And if my markings weren't weird enough, my hair did the trick. I won't sugar coat it.. I don't fit in here. But I don't understand that. Vyrathians tell me I don't fit in, but I've never quite understood it.

Getting ready for another day of ring duty must be the most infuriating experience of my life. Get there, get splashed with blood, carry dead bodies and burn them. Can't believe that that's enjoyable to someone when I completely dread it. I quickly tied my hair in a ponytail, wore my uniform and got on my way.

The smell of smoke, rusted metal and something I can't put my finger on filled the air of the streets. I wasn't late today so I took my time walking. Nothing excites me. Nothing moves me. I hate the feeling of not knowing what it is that's missing but feeling the emptiness all the same. And I…..

"GUT HER!!" "KILL!" "BURN HER!"

My thought process got immediately interrupted by civilian's shouting violent commands. Out of curiosity, I found my legs taking me towards the chaos. Chaos here isn't a new thing. There's always something.
