Okritho's eyes widened in disbelief. The sword was already upon him, leaving no time to dodge.
"Explode!"
In the critical moment, he decisively chose to self-destruct his body.
Boom!
Like a volcanic eruption, or the shattering of the earth's core, Okritho's body instantly disintegrated into countless stone fragments, scattering across the ground.
"Commander!" A member of the Holy Guard exclaimed in terror. "Is this a Dominator-level executive? Commander is no match at all!"
To be forced to self-destruct in a single exchange – this was a tactic of inflicting a hundred damages while suffering a thousand oneself. Unless in a desperate situation, Okritho would never have chosen this.
"Explode!"
In a moment of crisis, Okritho, the Vice-Commander of the Holy Guard, directly chose to self-destruct.
Amidst a deafening roar, his body turned to stone and exploded into countless fragments.
These fragments then rapidly sank into the ground, disappearing in an instant.
Vladimir's sword strike missed. Swept by the aftermath of the explosion, he immediately retreated.
"Quite decisive."
Vladimir said calmly, "You'd rather self-destruct than be pierced by my Frostmourne. A wise choice, unfortunately. This kind of trick might fool others, but trying to deceive me is too naive!"
While retreating, Vladimir shifted the blade of his sword and suddenly thrust it downwards into the ground.
At that very moment, the earth rippled, a fragment of stone changed shape, and suddenly, a sharp earth spike shot out, as if to impale Vladimir.
This attack from underground was unexpected, but Vladimir was prepared. He thrust his sword forward, easily severing the earth spike.
Frostmourne's strike, however, continued its momentum, plunging fiercely into the ground.
Boom!
Immense power, as if slicing through tofu, instantly carved a hundred-meter-long chasm in the ground.
As the chasm split open, Okritho, who had been hidden underground, was revealed.
"How did you find me!?" Okritho exclaimed incredulously. "I concealed my aura. My ability is very special. After fluidizing and merging with the earth, I become a part of it. Observation Haki can't detect me at all!"
Observation Haki is the power of hearing. Okritho, having become one with the earth, had no discernible aura.
Yet, Vladimir had still found him and was prepared for his surprise attack.
"Observation Haki?" Vladimir landed beside the chasm and looked down.
"Ignorant. I can easily sense your soul fluctuations. This kind of detection ability is not comparable to Observation Haki."
Just like his previous self-destruction, an ordinary person might have been fooled, but not Vladimir. He could sense the existence of the opponent's soul. The moment Okritho self-destructed, he had fluidized and entered the ground.
Since he was prepared, he wouldn't be easily ambushed.
Hearing this, Okritho's face turned pale. He cast a deep glance, then his body merged with the earth, disappearing instantly.
The next moment, his voice echoed.
"Holy Guard, attack!"
As the words fell, someone immediately launched an offensive against Vladimir.
There were six Holy Guards present this time, including the Vice-Commander and five other ability users.
One of them was the giant bird in the sky.
The other four, Vladimir recognized: the Decibel-Decibel Fruit user, the Hair-Hair Fruit user, the Hypnosis-Hypnosis Fruit user, and the Gum-Gum Fruit user!
The one who attacked at this moment was a tall, slender woman wearing black-rimmed glasses. She had a tall figure but appeared to be in low spirits.
Upon hearing Okritho's command, she immediately extended her right hand, and a pendant dangled from her fingers.
The pendant was a crystal ball, swinging back and forth. As the woman whispered, a strange power radiated outwards.
"Pain Hypnosis, Physique Hypnosis!"
This power was not aimed at Vladimir but at the other three ability users.
Immediately, the bodies of the three swelled, their height increasing by several tens of centimeters. Their original height of just over two meters grew to nearly three meters.
Not only that, but the arm muscles of these three became as thick as iron balls, bulging with muscle.
One of them let out a low growl, his eyes turning blood red.
This person was the Decibel-Decibel Fruit user, named "Asa." Originally a handsome blonde man, he now resembled a berserk gorilla.
"Soru!"
With a low shout, Asa's speed suddenly exploded. He instantly crossed nearly a hundred meters, appearing before Vladimir. His raised right fist, covered in a special power, struck down.
"120… Decibel Impact!"
This punch had no Haki, but it was incredibly powerful. Before it even landed, the space itself was violently vibrating.
"120 decibels? That's equivalent to a close-range high-explosive bomb."
Vladimir's gaze sharpened. He raised his left hand and immediately reached out.
Boom!
A deafening roar, enough to cause permanent hearing loss, shook the earth, as if the aftermath had directly collapsed it.
However, this attack was blocked, caught by Vladimir with a single hand.
"What?!" Asa's face was stunned. "What kind of monstrous physique is this! Are you even human?"
As soon as he finished speaking, blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
Vladimir chuckled softly. "I'm truly not human. However, I must say, your Devil Fruit ability is truly formidable. If this fruit were given to Whitebeard, he would likely become a monster."
Whitebeard's Tremor-Tremor Fruit is powerful, but this Decibel-Decibel Fruit before him is even stronger!
