Vladimir's face showed clear surprise. He extended his right hand and placed it over his chest.
In the next moment, a gem radiating a blue-black light emerged from within his body.
The jewel exuded an air of mystery, as if containing infinite power within it.
As Vladimir held it, he could feel the immense energy inside the Hōgyoku spreading outward in all directions like countless probing tentacles.
"Hmm?"
Vladimir let out a soft sound of surprise and murmured, "It's not the complete version... it's incomplete. I see now. I need to reach 5-star rank to bring the Hōgyoku to its perfect form."
Yet even in its incomplete state, the effects it possessed were terrifyingly powerful.
The abilities of the Hōgyoku could be broadly summarized into three main functions:
1. Protect the host, making them immortal and indestructible. This ability needed no further explanation — its meaning was exactly as stated.
2. When the host's power reaches its limit, or their life is threatened, it allows them to evolve endlessly toward the next dimension of existence. Of course, "endless" was only a figure of speech. The power of the Hōgyoku itself also had its limits.
3. This is the most unique ability, and the true essence of the Hōgyoku: It materializes what a person desires deep in their heart, bringing reality into alignment with their will. However, there was a condition: the user must already possess the strength required to make that wish come true.
Each ability was more formidable than the last.
Even Vladimir couldn't help but be amazed. "The incomplete version isn't as effective as the complete one, but it's still incredibly powerful."
As long as he held the Hōgyoku, no one in this world could ever destroy his Tenth Transformation — Aizen.
True immortality. No matter how strange or overpowered a Devil Fruit ability might be, none could truly destroy Aizen. At most, they might find a way to seal him away.
The second ability — endless evolution — was even more critical.
Illusionary Transformations were ranked by stars, with 5-star being the maximum level. Normally, once you reached 5-star, there was no way to grow stronger.
But now, with the Hōgyoku, it might be possible to break through that 5-star limit.
Of course, that wasn't achievable yet. Vladimir hadn't fully understood the item himself; he would need to master it completely before considering such a step.
And the third ability... that one was extremely interesting.
"Collecting wishes and granting them — provided the wisher has the power to fulfill them themselves," Vladimir murmured, staring at the gem in his hand. After a moment of thought, he smiled. "Perhaps... I could use this to speed up the development of Devil Fruit abilities?"
It was just a hypothesis. Whether it worked or not would have to be tested.
The real Sōsuke Aizen had used this very ability to awaken the latent powers of many "ordinary people," and even mass-produce Arrancar.
Since Aizen could do it, Vladimir saw no reason why he couldn't do the same.
"I need a guinea pig first... who should I pick?"
He pondered for a moment, considering several candidates.
"Robin, Doflamingo, Rijet, Shiki... The first two are reliable enough. Perfect. I once promised Doflamingo that once the auction ended, I'd show him a way to grow stronger. And here it is now. Heh heh heh..."
With that thought, he drew a line in the air with his finger.

"Azir... are we just going to stand here waiting?" Doflamingo asked. "No one dares to provoke us anyway."
"Who knows? You can never be too sure," Azir replied.
He fell silent again, standing motionless like a statue.
Doflamingo couldn't help but shake his head at the sight.
Suddenly, his expression changed drastically. The next moment, a voice echoed directly inside his mind.
"Doflamingo."
"Lord Aizen!"
"Come to me."
"Understood."
"As promised... now that the auction is over, I will show you the path to greater power."
Doflamingo's entire body trembled. A look of wild joy flashed in his eyes.
He had always wondered why every single member of Phantom was such a monster in strength.
In order to join their ranks, he had been obedient and humble, acting like a loyal subordinate and running errands for them tirelessly.
Now, the time had finally come for his reward!
"Yes, Lord Aizen! I'm on my way immediately!"
