Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The hydra attack

Today is a beautiful and good day, Rumi thought lazily. For a year now, she hasn't been actively trying to become stronger like she did in her early years when she could move and talk. She understands that without strength you don't survive in this world, but after 6 years without any organization coming to kidnap her, it's what gave her a sense of security.

"Rumi!! Let's go play now while the sun is still out, it's almost dinner time," Margot told her excitedly, because they could still play, Rumi thought they could take advantage of it now before dinner.

"Okay, let's go," said Rumi as they went off to play with their ball. The girls played for hours until it was almost time to go back.

"Let's go back now, it's getting dark," Rumi said worriedly, not wanting anything to happen to her friend, because she knew that a beautiful girl like her would be highly sought after.

"Don't worry too much Rumi, I don't think anything bad is going to happen today," Margot said naively, unaware of the hell that tonight would turn into.

Just as they were talking, the orphanage where they had been living all this time exploded in front of them. Rumi just watched in amazement as her home was destroyed.

They were instantly surrounded by soldiers pointing their weapons at them. Rumi became alert, as she hadn't sensed them, and realized that these soldiers were strong.

"Hands up mutant, you're coming with us," said the leader of this team. Rumi knew that whatever his objectives were, they weren't good, so with a killer kick to the leader, Rumi, despite not training like crazy, was still in shape and was as strong as a super soldier.

The soldiers who were taken by surprise could only stumble backwards while others had already begun to fire. Margot, who saw all this, simply escaped and took cover behind a tree in fear, as she had no way to defend herself.

Rumi sensed the bullets before they left the rifles and easily dodged them. Each kick she landed on a soldier was a kill, as her kick was powerful enough to shatter trees. After a somewhat lengthy fight, she ended up killing all the soldiers.

"Margot, come out, we have to go," Rumi shouted to her friend, afraid that she would be hurt because of her. When Margot heard her name, she came out and covered her mouth with her hands, seeing the corpses. She felt sick and ran to a bush to vomit.

Upon seeing this, Rumi simply lamented that things had happened and stroked her friend's back to make her feel better.

"Are you okay? I can carry you if you need it," Rumi said affectionately to her friend. Her friend just shook her head and gestured to Rumi that they had to escape from here.

"I'm scared," Margot said, her tears barely held back.

"We have to go, and see if Mother Superior is okay," Rumi said as she ran to the orphanage, hoping she was safe. They ran until they reached the entrance of the orphanage and saw a bunch of soldiers.

"Here, bravo, there's no trace of the mutant. He must have left the orphanage when we blew it up. One of the targets, the Mother Superior is dead. I've already sent a team to look for the mutant and his friend," Rumi heard with horror as her enhanced vision allowed her to identify a corpse missing half its body as her mother.

Rumi wept silently; she never thought her life would change like this overnight. She wanted revenge, she wanted Hydra dead, but she held back. Margot was just a normal human and couldn't guarantee their safety. They had to escape, and they had to do it now.

"Let's go, it's dangerous here, we have to leave this city," she said sadly and bitterly as she grabbed Margot's hand and they began to walk away from their home. As they left, Rumi sadly and nostalgically touched the crucifix that her mother had given her when she was one year old. She vowed revenge for this after putting Margot to safety.

"What happened? Is Mother Superior okay? Who are these guys?" Margot asked sadly, not understanding why these soldiers were attacking them. She thought they only attacked terrorists and bad people.

"What was that noise? All units mobilize to my coordinates, I think the mutant is here," Hydra commander Rumi reported suspiciously. Rumi, hearing this, hoisted Margot onto his back and ran as fast as he could.

After passing through some alleyways, she was stopped by a whole group of soldiers who were waiting for her in an alley; all the soldiers pointed their weapons at her.

"Sir, I found the mutant, he's in an alley," the platoon captain reported as he loaded his weapon.

"Fire, I don't want the mutant to escape," the captain shouted as he began firing. Rumi, who felt the trajectory of the bullets, quickly began dodging. The soldiers, seeing this, threw grenades, only to have them kicked back. The soldiers escaped, but some weren't so lucky and died. Seeing the opening, she decided to escape because she had to take care of Margot. The soldiers recovered quickly and pursued her.

"Don't let the mutant escape, if we fail we'll be tortured!!" shouted the squad captain in an attempt to encourage his men. All the soldiers ran and chased Rumi, however, she jumped onto the roof of a building and lost them. She ran through the city, and thought about going into the sewer to lose them. Jumping from roof to roof, she reached an empty street and lifted the manhole cover.

"Be careful Margot, hold on tight to me," he warned, before jumping into the sewer, then quietly and gracefully continued his run.

"Rumi, they're chasing us in the open air, they must be from the government, we must go to another country," Margot said fearfully, trying to help her friend with something, not wanting to be a burden to her.

"That's a good idea, we'll go wherever you want, but first we have to escape," Rumi comforted Margot in an attempt to calm her down, as she could hear her heart beating strongly and she might have a heart attack if it continued like this.

While she was running, a team of soldiers mobilized to the sewer, laying many traps.

"Sir, the traps are ready, soon she will be ours," a soldier informed the Hydra commander, who simply nodded and went to where the traps were, preparing all his weapons.

"I want all units in the sewers, games are over, we have to catch her now," he said seriously and wearily, because the mutant had gone from being nothing to a nuisance because of the soldiers she killed, although he did not deny that he was amazed by this, he did not think that she would kill at the first encounter.

Meanwhile, Rumi, who had been running the whole time, sensed with her Haki that she was in danger. She jumped and dodged a knife that was coming towards her, intending to cut off her head. She felt many people enter the sewer, so she jumped and tried to kick her attacker, but unlike others, he dodged and gave her a right hook that disoriented her. But she recovered quickly and returned the kick to his ribs. The robust soldier groaned and crashed into the wall. He recovered and took out a knife.

"You're cornered, mutant, we've already won and you'll end up in some laboratory," the burly soldier mocked, only to receive a kick to the neck that killed him.

"Rumi, I'm scared, we should go outside, it can be dangerous here," Margot pleaded, because she was afraid of the dark and thought there might be more soldiers.

"It's okay, I can see without my eyes, we won't get lost in the dark, and I'll protect you, I promise," Rumi said sweetly and lovingly to her friend, knowing that she was scared and didn't know what to do.

"Okay, please take care of yourself too. I don't want them to take you to a lab," Margot said sadly, knowing how useless she was, wishing she could do more than just be a burden to Rumi.

Without further distraction, Rumi ran for hours trying to escape, only to enter a large and wide section of the sewer, which was filled with many soldiers and weapons whose purpose she did not know. The Hydra commander, seeing Rumi, simply smiled and raised a hand, at which point all the soldiers raised and loaded their weapons.

Upon seeing this, Rumi simply jumped back, wanting to return to the previous corridor, but a heavy metal door closed and blocked her path. With no escape, she leaned against the door and jumped as high as she could, leaving a dent in the door, and began running along the walls while soldiers fired at her. The commander smiled and gave an order.

"Bring out the sonic weapons," was all Rumi heard before feeling her ears burst and falling to the ground in pain, but it didn't last long as she sensed danger, she grabbed Margot tightly who was knocked out by the attack, and dodged the attacks, knowing that she could not leave this room without killing everyone, she jumped towards a young and insecure soldier and crushed his skull with a kick despite him wearing a helmet.

The soldiers took advantage of this and shot at her. Rumi, not wanting Margot to be hit, stood facing them and took the shots, trying to avoid her vital organs. When the soldiers saw that she had been hit, they were happy and surrounded her, thinking that they had finally captured the mutant.

"It's over, monster. You fought well. You will serve Hydra well," the commander said arrogantly, certain of his victory. Rumi, who was suffering, felt a power activate. She felt bullets leaving her body, she could hear again, and more clearly. She felt healthier; her regenerative factor activated after six years. The soldiers who witnessed this were frightened, except for the commander, who watched with greed, wishing that Hydra had these advantages: immortal super soldiers. Not even Captain America would be a match.

"What are you all doing standing there?! I want her now, lethal force is permitted! After all, she'll heal," the commander said maliciously.

Upon hearing this, Rumi leaped from her spot and performed a few somersaults before swooping down and kicking a soldier in the head, decapitating him with a single kick. The soldiers fired in terror, but Rumi simply dodged the lethal shots and charged at them. With one kick, she broke the spine of one and the arms of another. A soldier drew his sonic weapon only to have his neck snapped. Rumi was in a frenzy of rage over her mother's death and the threat to Margot's life. The soldiers fled, and some tried to engage her in combat, only to be killed with a single kick. The commander, who had witnessed everything from a corner, pulled out a rocket launcher and fired at Rumi.

"Let's see if you recover from this!" shouted the commander, while Rumi, who felt the shot, knew she couldn't protect Margot with her body from it, so with all the momentum she could muster, she threw her aside away from the soldiers, while taking the shot head-on.

The explosion was so powerful that it killed all the soldiers around it. The commander watched expectantly as the dust settled, revealing Rumi missing a leg and arm, half her body burned to the bone. But that wasn't the impressive part. What astonished everyone was that she visibly recovered, growing another arm and leg. But this recovery time was all she needed, for she grabbed the unconscious Margot and pointed a gun at her. He had won.

"If you don't want her to die, you'll come with us," he said maliciously. Rumi, who had recovered, just glared angrily at the bastard in front of her and raised her hands, resigned for now; she would have other opportunities to escape.

"You win, bastard, but let Margot go and don't drag her into this," he said furiously, as they handcuffed her and put her inside a glass tank.

"Don't worry, she won't be involved in this, after all she'll be dead," he said maniacally as he shot Margot in the head.

"Bastard!!! You're all going to die!!" Rumi screamed, trying to break the tank they put her in, but it was too late. She froze and lost consciousness. She could only regret not preparing better for this, because because of her, she lost her mother and her only friend.

The Hydra commander was happy; he was going to be promoted for this discovery. He himself was going to request to go to the base where they would have her. He wanted to see how the doctor would replicate a mutation that could grant immortality. He only touched the tank affectionately, the one that held the little mutant. She was the key to his dream: an immortal Hydra.

"Take the tank, I don't want even a scratch on it. If it's damaged, it could wake up and kill us. Take everything, I don't want you to leave any evidence. Burn the bodies and destroy any evidence of the fight." The commander thought about all the problems the mutant had caused and how important she could be, but all that was for later, and he left the place while his soldiers destroyed everything.

I entered a secret room in the sewer where there was a high-tech stealth plane; he got on next to the cryogenic tank where the mutant was.

"Today is a beautiful and good day," he said happily, having completed his duty.
