Chapter 92 - Chapter 92 - The siren's feast

Bahar looked amused while he kept on sucking my blood.

Then he paused for awhile before asking me why am I asking him when he's my mate.

He's right.

Lion IS my mate but I don't know much about his past.

Bahar looked thoughtful before telling me that even if he knew something, he can't tell me also.

Without thinking, I sarcastically retorted that it must be that stupid contract.

Bahar looked serious for once and gravely warned me that I should be careful with my words as somebody might hear me.

He's never serious towards me before so I felt chills when he said that.

This situation is serious. I should double the effort in finding out about the contract as I might die again.

Oh wait, that was stupid of me. I'm already dead.

Bahar noticed that I wasn't talking that he told me he will help me out of the goodness of his heart.

Yeah, right.

I must be looking doubtful at him since he took a long deep breath before telling me that I should start my search at the palace.

I knew it. Everything that happened to me has a connection with the higher ranked creatures.

Bahar sensed that I was about to do something impulsive that he sighed before asking me if I am ready to face whatever I might find during my search.

Determined, I answered him that I'm ready to accept anything that goes in my way if it means saving Lion from his contract.

Bahar gave me a genuine smile in which he told me that whenever I'm like this, he loses his craving for my blood.

He returned my body to Lion's arms and was about to leave when I held his arm.

He looked confused at my action.

I asked him if he can tell me the details of Lion's contract in which he said that only the ones that are binded by the contract can only know.

But why does everyone know about the contract?

Bahar must have guessed my thoughts as he told me that everyone knows that a contract was made but the details of the contract are different from what actually is written in the contract.

Oh. So that means nobody really knows the truth.

I see.

Bahar gave me a smirk before disappearing.

I heard a snap then Lion began stirring in his sleep.

He called out my name before mumbling something unintelligible.

....

We finally arrived at the island.

Thankfully, Lion dressed my body in one of his robes that is too big for me but covered my entire body well. He kissed my lips as he murmured something in which he began to sob again.

Then he carefully carried my body in his arms as he, Bahar and the rest of the pack came down from the ship.

Orm placed a magic circle on the ship to protect it from thieves and from unexpected weather changes.

I became excited as they walked towards the Ariki's hut in which I kept on glancing around me as everything looks different from what I knew about islands back on earth.

The local creatures wore some sort of tribal clothing and some colored dye on their bodies. Some of the creatures are hideous looking while others are just....

I have no words to describe.

The trees are different looking as they seemed like a vine that wrapped around anything. There are creatures selling stuff everywhere and I saw..

Ooohh. Another interesting looking ingredient for cooking.

And some shiny stones that you can make into a bracelet. I should probably make some for the pack.

Ah. I forgot that I'm dead.

Suddenly, I saw a beautiful siren approaching the pack.

Wait. Aren't sirens in the fantasy books supposed to be hideous? Though, this siren has a hideous body but her face looked like a goddess.

I was mesmerized in her appearance that I nearly jumped out of fright when another siren just walked passed me.

She too is also gorgeous. But the body....

Oh well, everyone here has different bodies.

Like me.

They welcomed the pack and Bahar with a megawatt smile as they ushered everybody towards a hut that looked like a palace but made out of tree vines.

There are so many tree vines surrounding the hut palace that it seemed that you are entering a different world.

More heavenly looking sirens came out of the hut, surrounding them in which I began to feel a bit... insecure.

I'm dead so why should I feel insecure?

If Lion wants one of them then he can have her as I'm already dead.

Feeling sorry for myself, I looked down on the ground when I heard Bahar clearing his throat. I glanced towards him in which he averted his eyes.

That's when I noticed Lion's eyes.

He looked uninterested.

What.

Not only him but the rest of the pack looked like they are impatient.

Even Bahar as he was yawning and seemed amused at my reaction.

The sirens began talking to them in sweet voices in which I don't understand what they are saying but their voices seemed pleasant to my ears.

Lion looked.... bored?

Ghost kept yawning a lot, Alpha is talking to Orm about something while Sly is trying to remove a thread on his clothes.

As for Bahar, his eyes looked amused towards me as he seemed to be saying that I was foolish with my thoughts earlier.

Then suddenly, we heard loud footsteps approaching in which I saw a drop dead gorgeous male creature approaching everyone.

Um. I can't seemed to look away.

I can feel Bahar's stare towards my back as I continued to marvel at the creature.

The creature is taller than everyone, with hair that is tied in a messy ponytail, pointed ears and several dyed tribal tattoos all over his body. Several colored cloth covered his lower body and he wore several tribal styled necklaces around his neck.

He and Lion talked for some time as the sirens continued to gushed around the pack.

Then Lion removed the hood covering my head and face in which I saw the Ariki looked surprised.

The Ariki then said something in a loud voice in which the sirens became silent. He whispered something to the nearest siren beside him in which the siren signaled the rest of the sirens and they all went inside the main hut.

Then the Ariki told Lion to follow him inside a smaller hut beside the main hut.

Everyone followed the Ariki and Lion towards the smaller hut and went inside. Inside the hut was a low lying bed made out of feathers and leaves in which the Ariki told Lion to place my body on top of it.

I can feel Lion hesitating in which Bahar placed his hand on Lion's shoulder that Lion gave a huge sigh then placed my body on the top of the bed.

The Ariki performed some magic in which the hut was filled with some sort of colorful mist. Then he signaled everyone to go out of the hut.

The pack pulled Lion outside with Bahar pushing him on his back as Lion is struggling against them.

Um. Where is everyone going?

The Ariki spoke something towards Lion in which Lion began to calm down and everyone went outside the hut.

Maybe I'll try following them, that is if the force allows me.

To my delight, there was no force stopping me this time and I tried to float towards the group.

Suddenly, there was a scream and I turned around and saw an elderly creature pointing towards me. My spirit self.

The poor elderly creature began hyperventilating in which the Ariki hurriedly went towards it and spoke something in a low voice in which the creature looked warily towards me and hurriedly went away.

The Ariki apologized to the group for the commotion as he made some sort of excuse.

Huh. Another creature saw my spirit self.

....

There was a large feast inside the hut palace as the Ariki gave thanks to the pack and Bahar for destroying the creature. The Ariki is in high spirits in which I began to think that there's more to that "thankfulness" than what he seems to let on.

There's something fishy about the Ariki.

The Ariki sat on the center, with a dozen sirens surrounding him as they fawned over him in which he ignored them.

The pack and Bahar sat on each side of the table in which they focused on eating their food while several sirens surrounded them, trying to get their attention. Some of the Ariki's warriors are also attending the feast in which many had sirens on their laps. Liquor flowed freely as the conversation became lively.

Sly began to get annoyed with the sirens surrounding him that he began to stuff his face with food. Ghost and Orm glanced at each other in which they are about to transform to their ultimate self in which Lion gave them a glare. Ghost and Orm then ended up shooing the sirens surrounding them. The sirens tried to touch them when Orm and Ghost gave them a deathly stare. The sirens gave a scream in which they hurriedly went towards a warrior near them. Meanwhile, Alpha continued to stare at the table in which the sirens soon gave up and went towards a warrior who wasn't surrounded by sirens.

As for Lion, I was about to pull a siren's hair as she began to touch his chest when he suddenly turned towards her with fury in his eyes.

Bahar laughed at the pack's reactions as he welcomed the sirens surrounding him, making them sit on his lap.

He is truly the king of perverts.

The Ariki seemed amused at the pack's reactions as he kept telling some of the sirens to keep giving the pack more liquor.

I should probably go back.

I was about to go out when I heard a siren singing a song as one of the warriors embraced her while listening.

It seemed that the song is a sad song as everyone fell silent at once.

The sirens sang beautifully, in which a lot of the warriors began sniffing and sobbing.

Including the pack, especially Lion himself.

To my surprise, I saw the Ariki silently stood up and went outside.

My guts seems to tell me to follow him in which I did.

I followed him as he went through a secret path through the tree vines in which it led to a beautiful lake with a meadow.

He approached the lake in which to my surprise, he suddenly knelt down and began to sob.

I slowly approached him as I wondered what on earth made him sob when he looked towards me.

He can see me?!
