The conflict between Saint and Demon established by the Star Alliance isn't meant for one side to annihilate the other. It follows the cruel laws of Cultivation, aiming for survival of the fittest. It's not about one side truly overwhelming the other. If that day ever came, it would mean the end of everything.
Of course, there will always be a power struggle between Saint and Demon. The stronger side gets better opportunities for development. But internally, there also needs to be competition.
