After saying goodbye to the village chief, Naomi Kenway held Ian Shaw's hand and followed Six to House Number One.
Six walked with a slight limp but moved quickly, looking completely at ease despite the large bag on her back.
Naomi watched from behind, an unpleasant feeling stirring in her heart.
She came from a privileged background and had never known true hardship. This was her first time meeting such a strong and brave little girl. Six was like a wildflower pushing its way through a crack in a stone, filled with an untamable spirit and vibrant life.
Six seemed to sense something. She turned back and smiled. "Come on, Fairy Sister! Am I walking too fast for you?"
"No," Naomi replied, snapping out of her thoughts and quickening her pace.
As they passed Renee Jennings, Naomi saw she had a look of terror and conflict on her face. No matter how the production team tried to persuade her, she refused to leave the courtyard.
