"Nathan, why haven't you touched the food Mommy made? Do you know how much effort Mommy put into it?"
Chelsea Raines heard this and looked over, joining in on the scolding. "Nathan, do you have the stomach of a bird? How can you eat so little? This is a lunch your mother spent a long time carefully preparing. You're being so unreasonable. You don't appreciate your mother at all. How could there be such an ungrateful child like you?"
Nathan Lynch glanced at the steak swimming in a thick, rich sauce inside the lunchbox, a flash of disgust in his eyes.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up. He remembered what Aunt Kenway had told him.
"Mommy spent such a long time preparing this. Nathan can't bear to eat it, so Mommy should have it. Mommy loves Nathan, and Nathan loves Mommy too. Nathan wants to save the most delicious food for Mommy. If Mommy doesn't eat it, Nathan will feel really guilty and sad."
