"We haven't even finished the things you brought over last time..."
Aidan Dawson carefully set Nathan Lynch down and scratched his head. "Just toss what I brought before. It's so hot out, I wouldn't want you to get an upset stomach."
"Alright." Victoria Vance poured Aidan Dawson a cup of tea. "Aidan, haven't you been busy? I heard you're filming a documentary. I'm... I'm doing fine here. You should focus on your own work."
Aidan Dawson let go of the teacup the moment he touched it.
"What's wrong? Is it too hot?" Victoria Vance asked with concern.
"No, no. It's fine."
"Aidan, what I just said... did you hear me?"
"I... I..." Aidan Dawson's mouth opened and closed, at a loss for words. "Victoria, I want to... I mean..." He lowered his head and mumbled, "Why are you ignoring me now? Are you mad that I left without saying goodbye back then?"
"No." Victoria Vance looked down and sighed. "I knew you must have had your reasons when you suddenly went abroad all those years ago."
