The Fox Demon didn't seem the least bit guilty under Song Wanning's gaze. Instead, she just beamed at her.
"Sister, don't be mad at me for being forward. I only acted in the heat of the moment..."
She covered her mouth, her eyes curving into crescents as she smiled, looking utterly innocent.
The smile on Song Wanning's lips deepened. "It's no matter. In fact, I have yet to thank you for your help."
'If the Fox Demon hadn't helped, it would have taken me more time to capture the Double-headed Eagle. The main problem was that I couldn't harm it, which made things difficult.'

The Fox Demon's smile widened, but a flicker of excitement shone in her eyes.
'As long as I can get in with the Snake Clan, I'll have a temporary foothold. At the very least, if I'm being hunted, someone can take the heat for me.'
