Shen Weimin was up at the crack of dawn, but before he could even wash his face, he was caught by an even earlier-rising Xu Changqing at Bai Chenggang's house.
This didn't surprise him, though. He had already planned to swing by her place one more time before heading home to see if she had anything else for him after sleeping on it.
And what about his Changqing mentioning that he should hold on to some of the ration coupons as a backup? That didn't surprise Shen Weimin either.

Bai Chenggang went to the backyard to take a leak, and by the time he got back, his buddy who had just gotten up with him had vanished without a trace.
He sighed in exasperation.
'That guy managed not to go looking for my cousin in the middle of the night, but he obviously couldn't hold back any longer. I've never seen a kid so eager to get married!'
