After leaving the Xu family's home, Bai Xinsheng walked faster and faster on the way to his own. By the end, his walking speed was barely slower than a run.
"Get the hell out here now!"
In the inner room of the Bai family's third branch, Bai Chenggang, who had been holding Xu Changqing back to question her, jumped in alarm when he heard his uncle's thunderous shout.
Xu Changqing gave him a little push. "Go on."
"Are you sure he's yelling for me?"
Xu Changqing just smiled and walked out the door first.
Bai Chenggang scrambled to follow, whispering a hasty reminder, "Keep your mouth shut in a minute. No matter what you want to say, just admit you're wrong, got it? Don't add fuel to the fire."
Xu Changqing nodded profusely.
Her response only made Bai Chenggang's stomach drop. He was about to add another warning when, as fate would have it, his uncle and second uncle arrived, one after the other.
"Gangzi, go call your aunt back."
