"Cecilia, I'll be waiting for you," Lucas said, sitting in the living room.
Cecilia Adler didn't respond.
Lucas Lee spoke again, "We've been back for a while, but I haven't seen Ian. Where is he?"
Cecilia Adler said, "He's at his tutor's."
Lucas Lee asked, "Didn't he already get into university?"
"That's all the more reason to study hard. It's not like he got first place."
Rebuffed and unhappy, Lucas Lee fell silent.
After Cecilia Adler finished preparing the fish and cleaning the kitchen, he urged her again.
"I know," Cecilia Adler said impatiently.
She left with Lucas Lee.
They passed the entrance of a shop for funeral and wedding supplies, but Lucas Lee didn't go in.
"Aren't we buying things here?" Cecilia Adler asked.
"We're buying scriptures first. I heard you have to burn them along with the other offerings, or the people in the underworld won't receive them," Lucas Lee said.
