Ian Quincy's anxious heart instantly calmed. 'So that's what this is about.'
When he arrived at Teacher Kent's home today, the old man pointed to a name in the newspaper and asked if he was the Good Samaritan mentioned.
Ian confirmed that he was.
The teacher then called the local community office to ask what kind of reward there was for being a Good Samaritan.
The community office said they would prepare a brocade banner and a cash prize.
He had already anticipated this.
After all, he'd had several motives when he saved Christal Russell.
First, his father would see him as repaying her evil with kindness and hate Christal Russell even more for it.
Second, he would receive public recognition.
Third, it would piss off Christal Russell.
Kill three birds with one stone.
He said, "It serves her right to be sick with rage."
"Mhm," Cecilia Adler said, changing the subject. "Dad stopped by today. He said we're going out to a restaurant tonight to celebrate for you."
