The remark left both Clara Grant and Faye Jennings stunned. It seemed neither had expected Seth Quinn to be so blunt.
Clara was okay, but Faye's expression wasn't nearly as composed. Her face went pale with embarrassment.
Seeing how mortified she was, Clara couldn't help but feel a pang of pity. "Are you alone, Miss Jennings? Why don't you join us?"
She was only trying to ease the tension and save Faye from further humiliation, but the words came out before she could think.
The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted it. Faye had just come over to say hello, and Seth already felt she was interrupting. If Faye actually sat down with them, there was no telling what Seth might say.
