Seth Quinn's face was a little pale, likely from the blood loss, but he was still incredibly handsome. Clara Grant couldn't help but reach out and caress his cheek.
She gently stroked his cheek a few times and murmured with a soft laugh, "You're a grown man, what are you doing being so handsome? No wonder so many women fall at your feet!"
She laughed softly before adding, "And now, I've completely become one of them."
After she spoke, Clara Grant paused for a moment. When she spoke again, the smile had vanished from her face, replaced by tenderness and heartache. "Seth, how could you be so foolish? You knew it was dangerous, so why did you still throw yourself in front of me without a second thought?
If anything had happened to you, how could I have gone on living, even if I survived? Even if no one blamed me, I would have spent the rest of my life consumed by guilt and missing you. If it came to that, I'd rather it had been me who died.
