Clara Grant couldn't help but feel a little guilty. With so many dishes, just washing and chopping everything must have taken ages.
"It's rare for you to come home for a meal, so it's no big deal for me to make a few extra dishes," Skylar Hayes said, turning to glance at her. "What are you following me in here for? Go on, shoo. Go keep Seth company."
"I'll help you," Clara Grant said, ready to pitch in, but Skylar Hayes stopped her.
"I've already prepped everything. All that's left is the stir-frying, so how can you help? Now, get out of here. You'll just be in the way and make things more difficult for me."
Shoved out of the kitchen, Clara Grant saw Seth Quinn sitting on the sofa, his head down as he looked at his phone. She went and sat down in the armchair to the side.
She had just sat down when she frowned, reaching underneath her to pull something out.
