Donovan had told Timothy Sterling about the English homework incident. When Aurora Sterling returned home from school that evening, she was unsurprised to see her father's sullen face.
However, even though Timothy's face was grim, he didn't seem particularly angry. He had probably grown accustomed to teachers complaining about Aurora. Compared to her previous infractions, like skipping class and fighting, copying homework was a much milder offense.
Even so, his disappointment in Aurora was written all over his face, which had hardened into an apathy born from prolonged disappointment.
Seeing Aurora, Timothy let out a weary sigh. "Aurora, your homeroom teacher called me today. He told me you copied your homework. Do you have anything to say for yourself?"
Timothy's tone was filled with resignation toward his daughter. Beyond that, there wasn't the slightest trace of anger.
"I didn't copy it. I did the homework myself. I have nothing more to say," Aurora responded flatly.
